  1. I am sure you will ... you're one of the modellers, no, artists, that keep us entertained and amazed with high-quality rollouts for quite some time, now.
  2. Brilliant models, top notch paint job! Makes me wanna start my 1/72 Revell kit. Unfortunately, I'm abroads until March, so the workbench will have to wait. Greetings from the Philipines Roman
  3. Top colors are always questionable on VVS aircraft, a field of endless discussion. Your model looks good anyway!
  4. Dear Mr. Fuad, you really set the standards here... awesome build, just as we've come to expecr from you!
  5. Looks great! Did you miss to paint the front glazing frame or is that clear on the original?
  6. Here's my round-up of finished models 2015. 7. I'm looking forward to compare it to the 1/72 Revell B-17G I've built some time ago. I'm constantly amazed by the evolution of Plastic Modelling since my childhood days; the ancient Airfix B-17G (aka The Rivet Monster) was my very first "Heavy" back in my childhood days! So I will be up for one of these as well, no matter if it has the "wingtip vents" or not.
  8. Thanks for feedback, this is the second Eduard Fw-190 I've finished. The other one (also JG 300) is here: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234992486-172-eduard-focke-wulf-fw-190-a8-jg300/ Regarding the paint job, I use Gunze/Mr.Hobby acrylics. These colors produce the finest surface if thinned properly and applied in numerous thin coats. I never managed to get that smooth surface finish with paints from Humbrol or Revell (which I've used in my early modelling days). May I ask, which type of colors you are using, Bear Paw?
  9. My first completed build in 2016, another Focke Wulf Fw-190 from Eduard's Profi Pack. Added photo etch landing gear covers from Eduard Set and decals from Aeromaster (Butcher Birds #72001). Photo of the original aircraft here: http://www.jg300.de/fw-190a-gelbe-1-7-oder-17.html Gun barrels from Master Model. Painted with acrylics from Gunze/Mr.Hobby. 10. This one turned out quite good in my opinion: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234991655-172-armstrong-whitworth-whitley-mkv-airfix-new-tooling-eduard/ Hope this is a useful inspiration.
  11. Hello and welcome to 2016! My last build from 2015, the first to be presented in the new year. Sword 1/72 Spitfire XVIe with photo etch from Brengun, Vacu canopy from Squadron and Decals from Xtradecals. Represents SM309/AU-H, “Panama Bound” of 421(Royal Canadian Air Force) Squadron in 1945. Flown by Flt.Lt. Richard “Hap” Beal. Painted with acrylics from Gunze/Mr.Hobby. Main Inspiration for this build was the model by Mr. Jekl, as seen on Britmodeller: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234949348-supermarine-spitfire-mkxvi-172-sword/ Pictures by Wolfgang Rabel of IGM Cars & Bikes. Thanks for your interest, have a good start into the new year! Cheers from Vienna Roman
  12. Hello and thanks for your interest, this is my 1/72 Hasegawa Mosquito B.IV. The kit was started about 5 years ago. I ran into serious trouble with the split canopy section which consists of 4 clear parts, and they just wouldn't go together. I was left with a split line along the top canopy seam and gaps on the side windows with the blisters. Therefore, the model ended up in my 'box of doom', destined to become a source for spare parts. In early December I cleaned up my working room and rediscovered the Mosquito, almost finished, with a base coat applied already. After close inspection I decided to finish the model, since I felt it would be a pity to throw it away. I did not do any corrections on the flawed canopy section, just left it as it was. That's why you don't get any close-up pictures! The model was painted with Gunze/Mr.Hobby acrylics. Code letters for the Decals were sourced from a Tamiya kit as the Hasegawa decals looked to green-ish to my eye. They represent a plane from 105. Squadron in 1943. So here she is, not my best effort, but finally resting in my display case next to my Tamiya B.IV (shown here:http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234920784-172-tamiya-mosquito-b-mkiv/). I am hoping for a new mould Mosquito series from Airfix in 2016! All pictures by Wolfgang Rabel, IGM Cars & Bikes With best wishes from Vienna, have a nice holiday season!
  13. Amazing collection, top notch models. I'm lovin' Spitfires in all colors and markings!
  14. Hello, this is the new release Kovozávody Preostejov Lavochkin La-5FN in markings of the Slovak Uprising, 1944. I had high expectations following the release of Kovozávody Preostejov's Mustang series, however, this kit looks as if it's been produced by a different manufacturer. There are no locating aids, some flesh present and heavy sprue gates. Having said that, the kit goes together without any major issues. Kovozávody Preostejov have done the 'open canopy' option in a very unusual way, providing both clear hoods (that slide over each other) as one massive piece. You will need to paint the underlying canopy rails from the inside - not an easy task. This is still a very welcome new release as it's the only modern, up-to-date tool of an La-5FN. Here's how mine turned out, built from the box: All photographs by Wolfgang Rabel, IGM Cars & Bikes. Thanks for looking!
  15. RS Model's 1/72 Regginae 2005 "Saggitarrio" in ANR Markings, 1944. Built with the addition of Brengun photo etch set. An attractive little short run kit. Thanks for your interest! Photographs: Wolfgang Rabel, IGM Cars & Bikes
  16. Great Job on a quite difficult kit! I have two of these in my stash - acquired long before Airfix even announced their release. Your model is a good point of inspiration!
  17. Neat build & very nice paintwork. Something different from the usual Brown & Greens - makes your Huricane look 'alive'!
  18. I would welcome a new bunch of 1/72 DH Mosquitos. I know that both Hasegawa and Tamiya have this type in their catalogue; the Hasegawa kit is outdated in detail and doesn't fit very well (split canopies! engine parts!). Tamiya kits are great, but sometimes difficult to get. None of both have a Mk.XXX in their catalogue. And the Mosquito is one of the iconic british aircraft, so why leave it to the guys from far east?
  19. What a masterpiece! I am currently working on the same kit - 1/72 Sword Spitfire XVIe - and encountered serious fit issues around the inner wing edges, just as you mentioned. It's an outstanding result you have achieved, I hope mine turns out half as good .... I will also do the AU-S markings, but got confused over the roundel size. Shouldn't it be either small or big roundels? At least that's how I understood Sword's instructions, but I'm no expert on 2 TAF.
  20. Thanks for your Feedback. Finished model here: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234992486-172-eduard-focke-wulf-fw-190-a8-jg300/?hl=%2Beduard+%2Bfocke+%2Bwulf
  21. Very welcome release indeed! However it does not match the standards Kovozavody Prostejov set with their recent Mustang III. They're more like your average short-run-kit with no locating aids and some flesh present (at least in my boxings). Heavy sprue gates extend well onto the pieces. The "open canopy" version is two parts of the canopy moulded together in one piece (instead of a seperate sliding hood that goes over the back part). There's an option to open an inspection hatch on the fuselage - which is a good idea, but the plastic part is oversized in thickness. Aftermarket industry may jump in and give us some correction/refinement sets? Currently working on it and hope to present it soon in the 'Ready For Inspection' section.
  22. Hello, here's my Eduard Fw-190 A8 finished. Work in progress: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234991920-building-the-172-eduard-focke-wulf-fw-190-a8/ Landing gear doors are photo etch pieces from Brengun (intended for the Airfix kit). Gun barrels & pitot tube from Master Model. Painted with Gunze acrylics according to instructions. Thanks for looking. Greetings from Vienna Roman
  23. Aa-haaa! I've never seen these markings before! They do look, ehm, different to what I know, therefore very interesting. Thanks for feedback, Dusan.
  24. Unhappy with Eduard's guns, I removed the (already assembled) inner weapons. They are replaced with Metal items from Master Model. Approaching the final stage! The model will be coated in Matt Varnish before all the small parts (wheels, antennas, propeller, pitot tube, canopy etc.) are attached. See you in the "Ready For Inspection" section soon. Thanks for watching. With kind regards from Vienna Roman
