  2. Very very nice! 😃 It's a pity that someone sold you an incomplete conversion set, because it would have been even nicer with the F-1AZ photo-etched instrument panel and corrected vac-form canopy, which addresses the too long and wide windshield of the ESCI/Italeri kit. Then again, you added so many other really sweet goodies, that it may be overlooked. Cheers, John
  3. Jon, The kit shape is pretty good, and one cannot mistake it for anything else. It just needs correction with smaller details like the front instrument panel, rear instrument panel and MFD, rear joystick, main gear wheels, CHAFF/FLARE dispenser, nose vents, detailed exhaust nozzle and ejection seats.
  4. Vlamgat, although the C.10 is a welcome addition to the market, there is very little in common with the Cheetah C. Mostly the radome that can be modified, and really nice that it has the one piece windshield. From there on, there are a lot of mods to get to a Cheetah C. Forward fuselage extension, new instrument panel, bulkhead, spine, fillet at base of the tail fin, IFR probe, dorsal intakes, RWR and ECM blisters, exhaust cone and nozzle, CHAFF/Flare dispenser, ram APU, main wheels, canards, ventral intakes, and some antennas. Hats off to you for still going old school to scratch build it 💪🙂 💯
  5. Quite right, the original ESCI main canopy (too short) and windshield (too long and too much outward taper in the front) proportions are way out. This is also the reason why the forward fuselage has to be replaced with the resin one, to accommodate the correct canopy, as well as the cockpit tub that was too shallow. 🙂 Cheers, John
  6. Correct, very odd/rare to see this. Usually the F-1AZ had it's own scheme and not the F-1CZ scheme.
  7. Andre, that looks like a CHAFF/Flare dispenser. Never seen those on any other photos. Cheers, John
  8. You might be right, the bomb on the outboard pylon looks like an M117. Interesting to see a mixed load out like this...
  9. Hi Dennis, Both F-1AZ and F-1CZ were equiped with the Matra rocket pods. Mirage F-1AZ Mirage F-1CZ Cheers, John
  10. Paul, you can actually get the H-2 with the comms pod and jammer from Shapeways 😉 https://www.shapeways.com/product/SGXCN6WBC/buccaneer-h-2-raptor-weapon-pack Cheers, John
  11. Hi Werner, Good going on the F-1AZ, and glad you are enjoying the build so far The bombs appear to be 460kg bombs, jokingly called a "Varkie" (that is Afrikaans for piggy) by the armorers. My boy always enjoyed playing on one at the Ysterplaat Air Force Base Museum. Cheers, John
  12. True, the old Heller kit can be turned into a beautiful model with some scratch building and rescribing the panel lines and elbow grease. Converting the Kinetic IIID is much less work though. Here's a link below of one built. https://www.saairforce.co.za/forum/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=9837
  13. Via email [email protected] Alternatively, you can find the conversion set at the Aviation Megastore https://www.aviationmegastore.com/mirage-iiibz-conversion-kinetic-mirage-iiid-sw48-18-scaleworx-resin-models-sw48-18-aircraft-modelling-conversion/product/?action=prodinfo&art=155154
  14. Hoops, Yeah, it's been about 7 years ago that the F-1AZ was announced, and I've been waiting patiently, but gave up. Wouldn't hold my breath, especially with the small SAAF market. Totally agree with you that one can save some money to scratch build the mods, if one has the skills. The nose cone is by far the trickiest part. It would be super cool if you did that, and would love to see your work 🙂👍 Cheers
  15. Very nice, Enzo Note that Gabonese F-1AZ's are ex-SAAF, which means that they will have the bi-sonic shock cones (unique to SAAF F-1's) on the air intakes, and not the standard intakes. Cheers, John
