Hi Ale, A company in the UK called Terraine supply this or there are a few on Ebay such as This This Or this -
I doubt very much whether I will accomplish this but i'm planning on building two of the old Revell 1/32 Tomcats in the 1978 full colour livery. I obtained two kits some time ago. One is in poor condition with bits all over the place. The kit decals are shot and beyond use hence when I was on the hunt for replacements, I found the CAM VF 143 sheets which are still available and as they are my fave Tomcat squadron I bought two of them, together with a set of CAM stencils. This kit will form the basis for my build into which I will attempt to prise an Aires cockpit and finish it depicted as chained down on a carrier deck being attended to by aircrew from the Academy Hornet! I might even open one or two inspection panels. Dunno yet! Iv'e just ordered the Flightpath carrier deck and detail kit for the diorama, so in short there will be plastic, resin and metal in this kit. The second kit will be straight out the box for a friend of mine who also likes the colourful VF 143 Cats. Most of the parts of this kit are off the sprues. The decals in this kit appear to be ok so ill be using the stencils. This build will be just plastic....and oh yes there are badges!

The "I missed the end of the group build thread"
Phartycr0c replied to Phartycr0c's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
The Nose art was applied by Eldred P Mason in 1983. A large number of the MANG F4's had colourful nose art applied by their crew chiefs and each one was lovingly looked after. In 1984, 5 171st FIS f4's took part in the William Tell weapons competition. Garfield was the only aircraft already wearing its nose art, the remaining 4 each received new schemes. A later version of this nose art apparently depicted Garfield with the wing of a soviet jet in his mouth. The markings on my build depict Garfield in 1983, pre William Tell. As I have said, the Cutting edge sheet is beautiful. The decals are in register with very fine backing. I really fought hard with myself as to whether to actually use the decal sheet due to its rarity but im really glad I did. Only wish they could be reprinted. -

Thanks for the positive replies folks, gives me the inspiration for the tomcat gb, a 1/32 vf143 a model! -
Beautiful, and an unusual subject to boot. I really like the detailing in the ground handling trolley. After 114 hrs it's time for a congratulatory drinkie!

Having missed the deadline for the F4 Group build by over a decade, i finally finished the Michigan F4. As per the build thread, Its a Tamiya F4C with seamless sucker intakes and the wonderful and increasingly rare Cutting edge MANG decals. I will be honest I dreaded the moment i had to start to cut the sheet up for fear of ruining these lovely items. Anyhow, all went well and here is the result. From what i have seen, the MANG F4's were all kept extremely clean hence very little weathering other than picking out a few panel lines and due to a lack of lining decals, the walkway outlines are hand painted! hope you like.

Keep going, those two really look superb. Now for the big end game!

Revell He 111P-2 in 1:32
Phartycr0c replied to Iain Ogilvie's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Iain, thats a really nice result. It looked great on the display table at SMW and with the extra detailing it looks superb! Well done. On the ariel wire, I overheard a conversation at SMW around using lycra strands. Elastic so the tension is maintained without ripping parts off, cheap and almost scale thickness. I think its used mainly for ship rigging etc. Rich got hold of some from White Ensign. -

Comment? you want comments? Hows superb for starters? Those Bol rails really do bring her up to date. As far as the lights go, Iv'e checked all my references and cannot see any lights on the top or bottom of the wingtips and thats going back to when 23 sqdn had F3's. -
I am looking forward to seeing this in the flesh on Saturday! ... there thats surely all the inspiration you should need!

Why hide so much detail ?
Phartycr0c replied to Dr.Jellyfingers's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
Thats incredible! iv'e got the 1/32 version and there is no way I caould match that for detail. Bravo sir. -
Oh cripes! I am only too aware that time is running out for me and my MANG build but as usual the hiatus has been caused by that which provides the dosh for me to continue in this hobby, namely work.! I have had precious little time to spend on what was to be a build of IMHO one of the loveliest coloured Phantoms ever... Anyway, heres a little (rather boring) update, The seamless suckers intakes were a bit of a pain to get spot on but they are in now and look rather cool over the Tamiya bits. Iv'e partially completed the metallic areas of the jet pipes and brightwork around the back end prior to masking and weathering. On with the undercarriage bits and painting the inner surfaces of the various uc doors etc, then its masking and orf to the paint shop!

EEK, That looks blooming lovely...... You know I could take to this wobbly prop stuff, what with my Swordfish , the forthcoming Skyraider, and now the 111. I do have to say though the Heinkel does hold a special place in my heart as it was the first model my late dad sat me down and made with me. The old 1/72 Airfix? torpedo version. I had that thing hanging from my ceiling for years. May very well have to have a go at one of these beasts! Will this be going to Telford?

That is officially THE most attention to detail I have ever seen on louvres let alone the undercarriage. My eyesight will not allow me this level of detail any more! You are doing this cat proud! keep up the good work.
