OH OH! looks like my Tornado build is back on and my bank balance will be taking a BIG HIT!
Thanks ever so much for the information, obviously my internet research capability is rubbish.
I feel a Diroama coming on!

I recently procured a vote from you guys and gals as to what I should get stuck into next from my 1/32 stash and the GR4 won.
BUT Iv'e hit a dead end before iv'e even started.
The build was to be based on a Tigermeet kit which I was looking to convert however researching the net for bits, the only conversion i can find are the Paragon flaps and slats kit.
NOW I did find that Paragon used to produce various bits and bobs to carry out this conversion in the shape of the FLIR pod and Hindenburger tanks (although these wouldnt go anywhere near my build) but none of these parts are out there any longer.
Ive emailed Revell in an attempt to see if they could supply the additional sprue from the GR1 kit but ive not received a reply.
It appears therefore, that I am somewhat stuck. I was looking forward to a GR4 but its now looking more and more like this kit will become an ebay refugee or the like unless I can get hold of some bits.
I note that Paragon are releasing some JP 233's therefore is it likely that the other Tornado bits will make a re appearence in which case should I wait?
Can anyone offer any advice
P.s Im no good at scratchbuild! no sense of proportion you see!

Hi guys and gals Ive now got around 900 photos to go throught following a couple of days at the Riat arrivals/ practices but on the first scan I came accross these lucky shots of the Premier F22 display practice.
I have to say Aircraft just shouldnt do what this does and to see at least one display by this beast is a MUST.
Anyhow my photos, unretouched. Enjoy (i did)

Went tech today with a faulty voltage reg on 3rd generator.
To Halfords "do you have a voltage regulator for a 1950's Vulcan?"
"im sorry sir is that the B1 or the B2 model and do you have the chasis number?"
Anyhow, very many congrats to TVOC and all invloved and congrats to you Steve or an outstanding set of shots!
BTW does anyone know, all being well, will 558 be practising on Friday for Riat sat and Sun?

OOH ER!
GR4 Takes it but ive shot myself in the foot a little!
researching the net the Tornado ECR is NOT the best place to start one of these projects as there are bits hanging off the GR4 which simply aint available for a straightforward conversion, however Paragon will be getting another order as will Xtradecal.
I May approach Revell to obtain the extra parts needed for the GR, failing that does anyone have a cheap GR 1 kit available?
Does anyone know of a resin conversion kit for the GR4 ?
Ta in antishipayshun
P.s surprisingly only one vote for the flanker?
-
HMMM
To date the GR4 is edging is Slightly with the F 14 a close second.!
I will call it at around 19.00 tonight.

Oi Pharty, as you lot wont let me forget this old beast, I say Revells Tiger Tonka, and mine isnt in the bin, its in bits, and once Ive got the table clear again shes back on to be finished............... Only to get you lot off my back as none of you seem to want to let me forget it

Edit: Poxy typo monster again
Tee Hee! Thought you had had a BIG! fall out with that kit?
Anyhoo, is that a technical vote for the GR4 Build? cos if it is at the mo its in the lead!

As the title says I need a little kick start to get back A/c modelling as I have been a little side tracked by my two lads interest in Lord Of The Rings warhammer figures (very relaxing painting!)
Anyhow, I'm coming to you guys and gals (with an interest) for a push as to which way I should leap as I have the following in my stash all of wich are competing for the right to be built.
All 1 32
Trumpy Flanker,
Tamiya F 15 e
Tamiya F14 (VERY) early kit, which will be built for my close friend, in Vf 84 colours.
Academy F18
Academy F16 which I am seriously doing in the Minute Men colours
Revell tigermeet Tornado which i am seriously considering, no BEX not throwing in the bin, but converting to a GR4
Revell P38 lightning
Revell FW 190
I will go with a majority vote!

Very nice work sir!
You think thats big? try the Trumpy 1 35 for size!!!!
-
Thanks guys.
I was using a Nikon D 50 with a 70-300.
Neil, Where I was stood, at times 70 mm was too big however at Riat the flight line is some way from the crowd line and therfore would need a similar lens to get any decent shots. That said the opposite is true for the statics so the 18-55 will be fine unless your going for really "arty farty" shots.

Tons of Phots taken heres a few of em from a Dull overcast but warm RAF Cosford

Only joking but it goes to show how spot on this build is!

Just been browsing through my phots and stumbled accross these.
Taken at Lakenheath in 2006, this bird called an IFE.
As I ran towards the approach to get a good shot, it suddenly dawned on me when I realised what the issue was, Shouldnt I have been running the other way?
Anyhow I hope they are of interest

1 32 flanker is a peach! where did you get those figures from?
Loving the Angolan one also but they are all so very well executed very well done.
-
I refer you to my previous reply re your F 15 ............. I give up!
Phatness its your fault!
-
Im Just appreciating some of the Russian stuff. Nice builds.
Fancying a Trumpy 1 32 Mig 29 after my Flanker!
-
Beautiful execution....Got one of these meself but not just yet.... Like Phatness, Im waiting for a 1 32 version, How cool would that be?
Tamiya ? Trumpeter? Anyone?
-
As I posted on ARC, That is simply the most stunning F15 I have seen. There are many excellent builds of this Kit around but the execution and presentation makes this MY number 1 easilly.

Ive got this and a 1 32 Flanker to tackle intending to get it up to something like, but I am now seriously questioning my approach and eye for detail.

ah well :shithappens:

Hi all, I have a B2/3 kit and am currently in the process of putting it together without the instructions as they were missing.
That is why it came at a bargain price!!!!!!
All is going well except............ In the box was a tiny bit of paper with two numbers E5 and B16 scrawled on it.
As I have progressed I have realised that these are the numbers of two missing parts. E5 I know is the cockpit base, can anyone give me an idea as to what B16 may be and wether it is structurally important or if (hopefully) it is an optional part.
-
That is one sweeeet spit! Outstanding work!
-
Has anyone had view of this review?

If this kit is as good as it says, guess where a GR9 will be ending up?
-
Now THAT is some wonderful work well done!
-
Wonderful build and here's a picci of the 1.1 scale beastie in Gibraltar in the 80's
TBH the only image I have seen of it.

Reproduced with kind permission of Darkstar Aviation Photography.
See how accurately the RAF reproduced your build! It even has the missile hanging under the wing.

Just been "in depth" browsing my Thursday Riat piccies and thought I would share these with you caught just as a thunderstorm passed through. Provides a different lighting and dramatic backdrop.
Gawd I love Thunderstorms!
Check out the bow wave
And these were between rain showers
Hope you like!
