    Sabre question

    There were 2 "standardized" US camouflages in the 1960s and 1970s:

    - the South East Asia ( S.E.A ) developped for use in Vietnam and using tan+ mid green+dark green over pale grey undersides ( these are the colors used a.o. on the Honduran, Tunisian and South Korean Sabres, but with different patterns) , as well as

    - the Asia Minor desert scheme, mainly used on aircraft exported the the US Middle Eastern allies, like Iran, and then Jordan, Saudi Arabia, etc.

    This lighter camouflage scheme used sand+ brown+dark green over pale grey undersides

    As an illustration, here is a shot of a former Imperial Iranian AF F-86F, in service with the Imperial Ethiopian AF during the early 1970s:

    Regarding Hi-Decal HD 72064 and 48034, there will be a small content change:

    The sheet will cover:

    - a NMF Iranian F-86F in IIAF/UN markings,

    - a camouflaged IIAF Sabre in Asia Minor desert scheme,

    - a camouflaged Imperial Ethiopian AF Sabre in Asia Minor camo ( former Iranian F-86F)

    - a camouflaged Philippine AF Sabre, wearing an attractive pale sand + black green + mid green scheme, used in combat on Mindanao in 1973-76.

    Please note that these Sabres all had the F-40 standard wing.

    Turkish Air Force F-4E/ F-4ETM/ RF-4ETM decal sheets from HI-DECAL arrived

    Here are the first pics of the upcoming HI-DECAL sheet HD 48028 & HD 72058 "Turkish Air Force F-4E / F-4ETM / RF-4ETM":

    The sheet contains markings for the following Turkish Air Force aircraft:

    # 68-0346 F-4E Phantom II - 111 Filo "Panter", ex NJ ANG, with big "Tiger head" on the front fuselage,1993.
    # 68-0403 F-4ETM Simsek - 112 Filo "Seytan", with big Sharkteeth and "Devil head" artwork on the tail , 2011.
    # 67-0227 F-4E Phantom II - 172 Filo "Sahin", with Sharkteeth and big "Falcon head" artwork on the tail , 2010.
    These Phantoms all wear the Hill Grey II scheme .

    # 77-0314 RF-4ETM Isik - 173 Filo "Safak", with big "Spook" artwork on the tail and new disruptive camouflage scheme, 2012.
    This recce Phantom has been lost on June 22nd,2012, shot down by a Syrian SAM above the East Mediterranean Sea.

    Respective Turkish stencil data are also included.

    The new HI-DECAL sheet will be released during January 2013 in 1/72nd (HD 72058) and 1/48th (HD 48028) scales.

    The 1/32nd scale version will be also available a bit later from TECHMOD.

    Hasegawa IRIAF F-14A marking options?

    If I could find it in stock anywhere, absolutely.

    HD72051 will be "in stock" again at Hannants next week.

    Anyway, if you should have problems to find it, please simply let me know.

    Re: Hasegawa - the new "IRIAF" edition has indeed markings for 3 aircraft in "low viz" blue grey camo...some years ago there was an "IRIAF" edition with desert camo.

    Re: Fujimi - these are really nice F-14, maybe even better than Has., including weapons, engine, etc, and are generally a bit cheaper. The "AliCat" IIAF / IRIAF edition, however, has unfortunately totally wrong Iranian markings.

    Hello Mikkel,

    I think, this will be done in near future - the "classic" roundels with yellow star as well as the new ones :winkgrin:

    There is also FAPA MiG-17F red "C 24" on sheet HD 72035 & HD 48005 with camo and the "older" roundels.

    New decals: HDL 48008 A-6E TRAM Intruder

    I have the pleasure to present our latest release, HDL 48008 A-6E TRAM Intruder, prepared having in mind the brand new Kinetic A-6E kit, but of course also the Revell Intruder in 1/48 scale.

    The sheet covers the last years of this legendary US Navy bomber: a camouflaged Desert Storm veteran, a Deny Flight (Yugoslav War) participant as well as the last US Marine Corps Intruder with colorful tail markings:

    Latest AFV Club F-5 kit

    Looks like the same plastic as the original USAF Aggressor boxing maybe? Plus the refuelling probe & wing tanks though.

    This is indeed the same kit as the "USAF Agressor" boxing - with earlier nose, but with a refuelling probe and the "bigger" vertical tail, as used on many exported Tiger II.

    Included markings allow to do different Chilean and Moroccan Tiger IIs and upgraded Tiger IIIs.

    Of course, this kit will be perfect if you want to do for example a Brazilian, Tunisian or Indonesian F-5E...

    Does this mean you're working on a "export F-5" sheet ? Would be great news ! With the AFV Club 1/48 kit available and the newish trumpeter 1/72 one coming it would be a pity not to build some exotic subject !

    The F-5E/F sheet is planned for late January/early February. It includes several cool, unique USAF F-5Es as well as colorful Vietnamese, Soviet, Indonesian and Yemenite Tiger IIs.

    The F-5A/RF-5A sheet will then follow.

    More F-5E/RF-5E options, as well as F-5Bs are also in preparation.

    A decal sheet covering VNAF & VPAF, as well as IIAF F-5As & RF-5As, with all the different paint schemes used on these birds, is already in the pipeline and will be released in early 2012 by HI-DECAL, having in mind the upcoming KINETIC and TANMODEL kits in 1/48 scale, as well as the ESCI /ITALERI F-5A in 1/72 scale.

    Also a sheet including a.o. VNAF & VPAF F-5Es will be released very soon in both scales.

    And here you can see the already available IRIAF F-5E/F sheets.

    Hi Guys,

    After many request I have posted up some extra pics of the new quarter scale Hobby Boss F-14A that appears in a recent issue of SAM. Of note are the small swept canard that don't normally appear unless they are under maintenance or flying supersonic on earlier model Navy or Iranian AF jets. These are the photos I worked from. Hope you enjoy them.

    Re deployed canard winglets: some of the current IRIAF F-14, camouflaged in blue & grey, still have these canards in the old Asia Minor camo...

    Arab-Israeli Wars

    If you dont mind about the quality of kits, there are quite a few you can get to fill the gaps for an Israeli or Egyptian Air force (though I havent found a couple yet), its more of a problem finding the decals for me - many of my Israeli decals I am getting from the Academy Texans and even Bilek Mig 21 F-13's

    Dont even know if I have many Egyptian air force roundels for some of my planned projects

    We are proud to announce that our new sheet for upcoming HOBBYBOSS An-2, as well as for the already available VALOM and BILEK "Colts", has just been released today.

    The sheet HDL 48018 Antonov An-2 Colt includes 7 colorful options for this long serving airplane:

    - 2 camouflaged Croatian AF bomber/medevac Colts,

    - 2 East German birds with silver or green schemes,

    - 2 Polish AF AN-2s with different camouflages

    - 1 North Korean "Colt" with black scheme
