  1. Heres my Revell F-4F Phantom II "50th Anniversary" 1/32, She picked up a bit of dust while i waited to get varnish and not everything went according to plan, but I'm pleased with it! It was a true build of firsts, first aftermarket (pilots), promodellers wash, microsol/set, and alclad. & yes it was all brushpainted. Cheers! Roger
  2. Finally finished! thanks for all the help guys!
  3. the origonal glass lens "took off" at high speed when dry fitting and hasent been seen since, so im going to attempt to clearfix over the red sliver of spru, to give it a lens look, needs some sanding to shape first. wingtip light lenses attached, zoom function on cam & its operator arent so good. its picking up dust while im waiting on a new varnish.
  4. Canopies demisted (oven cleaner worked marvelously), gently resanded, remasked & painted, have looked locally & hendon for Klear, no luck whats the next best alternative guys?
  5. Thanks guys, very nice crowd here, lots of phantom fans & all round good ppl. klear is top of the to buy list, along with another f4+aries pit(first for me) for the gb. I had the canopies painted/washed & settled/rested & then fully masked prior to varnishing, so it shouldnt have happened. After varnishing I left it "nose up" on the clamps, over night, warm house & rising fumes i reckon might be the culprit, i've been so careful with the build, i could've kicked myself. still not entirely sure, so going with new varnishes.
  6. Hey guys, good to be here! Thanks to JohnT, I get another crack @ the canopies, havent a clue why they misted up like that, it wont happen again if I can help it, new varnish etc.
  7. Thankyou all, I'll have a go @ the oven cleaner on one piece & sanding on the other, as experiments, John thankyou very much, pm has been sent.
  8. So the varnish didnt go well, the tamiya tape (as the canopy glass was fully masked) or perhaps the fumes from the varnish drying have given the cockpit glass a very even slightly misty look,I just dont know, its enough to be objectionable and obscure the detail slightly. I was using humbrol satin 135 varnish. I can lift the canopy off if someone knows how to remove this varnish without opaqueing the canopy glass furthur? or will I have to look for an aftermarket replacement? advice plz! cheers Roger
  9. Hi all, this is my current build the 1/32 Revell F4-F Phantom II "50th Anniversary" im currently waiting on some decal solution so my build has to pause, and I figured it was as good a time to post as any. Sorry if the pics quality isnt so good, I've only got a crappy little webcam! I had to take the seat back rests off to allow the pilots to fit. Ready Now to paint, 10% Rev satin white & 905 SM350 Lufthansa Blue did my best to smooth fuselage join, but its still obivous. I'd appreciate feed back, I hope you like it so far.
