  1. I've tried them this week, colour wise I think the greys are a little dark but otherwise look good. Brush painting them I've found a little tricky, I've needed multiple coats and I'm still not that happy with the finish, but I think I need to practice a bit. Not sure if they will replace xtracolor enamels for me just yet. They do dry very matt
  2. Been thinking of giving this ago myself its been done in 1/72: http://airfixtributeforum.myfastforum.org/sutra353482.php gives some inspiration.
  3. thanks very much for the references (wish my memory was that good!!) - will definitely try Luftwaffe Experten Message Board + what ever colours i end up using, having the opposite side will be great!
  4. Hi everyone - been a modeller on and off for 40+ years and have recently stated modelling again now the kids are older! Enjoyed lurking on this board for a long time and wondered if i might ask some advice> I'm currently making the Airfix 1/72 Bf109G-6 (new tool) and was planning to use the black 29 markings from the Italeri kit. (this was a training aircraft based Pilsen in 1945). I've found this photo online, but wonder if any 109 experts can help with the colours!? I know its a 'can of worms' with black and white pics and this particular time period, but I've seen various combinations of colours suggested. The kit suggested RLM 83/81/76 but ive also seen it in 74/82/76 (and others). I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a definitive answer for this particular aircraft; or is it, as i suspect, just guess work? If so what's the 'best' guess!! Many thanks for any advice you can give.
