  1. Both kits will do but the italeri one needs a few quid spent on it to give a reasonable result. Its an older kit and shows its age but.. the basic shape is good. Put a Neomega GR1 cockpit in then decide if you want to upgrade the poor parts, tanks, pylons, fin intake, engines, wheels, skyshadow and Boz pods. Even then you can go further and add dropped slats The Revell kit is a better option but you have to ignore the pilots digital dashboard parts or convert them and the seats arent great but acceptable. This kit too has upgrades available but these are mainly for true accuracy and specific british parts rather than poor shape I do all the parts I've mentioned through Tornado sig, pm me if you want to see our catalogue All the best Nigel Ps my personal perferance is the Italeri kit with all the add ons
  2. The trouble with this colour in a cockpit is its far too dark. A mixture of the scale effect and weathering means a decent medium grey and a darker wash will suffice.
  3. The Sea Eagles with rails are ready. Come and see Mark and myself at Telford on the Tornado Sig stand. If you aren't going then pm me for mail order Mark is also creating the loaders Cheers Nigel Tornado sig
  4. The last thing you want is another kit but there is a German gray Mig 29 as one of the Hobby 2000 boxing
  5. Jet Passion make lovely detailed stuff and I'm the UK contact for Jet Passion and they're sold via our group Tornado Sig. £13 a pair in 32
  6. No leave the side walls and add the strip at the top lip, luckily Revell have a cut out each side that shows you exactly how much to reduce it by. In this link I was fitting the italeri rear console into a revell kit so the strip went all the way through. If using the revell rear then you'll need to do it in 4 pieces https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/tornado_sig/1-32-revell-gr4a-12-sqn-100-year-t2048.html ps thats an A model using a scanner underneath with decal windows
  7. Over in Tornado sig we created the Tornado TIRRS system SLIR windows and IRLS scanner in 3d print for the Italeri kit but can also put you in touch with someone who does a decent resin one with decal windows for the Rev kit. Message me Regards Nigel IPMS Panavia Tornado SIG lead
  8. The adapter rail is a Tornado belly rail, its thought to be the shorter middle one but could be a cut down outer rail
  9. The etch set was made by Eduard and is no longer available. Its recommended you install the Aires 1/32 cockpit for GR1. I've done 5 and never had an issue or if you want late GR4 contact me and I'll show you what we have through Tornado SIG Ps the Revell kit tub is too wide, recommend a 2mm strip of card each side of the tub to reduce its width Cheers Nigel Tornado SIG
  10. The 1500L tanks are different, the UK tanks are made from a type of Asbestos and are rivetted together. The europeans went for aluminium and these are welded together. All kits only offer the european type. This only affects the 1500 tanks This level of detail isnt for everyone and many people are happy with the kit items but for me they add an extra level of detail and also have a big advantage of being completely seamless. No one makes them apart from jet passion of Peru and they are brought over here through me at Tornado SIG, we do both the UK/ Saudi and the German/ Italian version in 3 scales 32, 48 and 72. I wasnt sure if they'd go to begin with but they've proved so popular that now we do the original 4 fin UK version as well They are 1 of around 80 different Tornado things we do to enhance the different kits Message me if you want to see our list or catch me at the shows we display at. Next ones are Abingdon, Brampton, and Spalding Regards Nigel Tornado SIG
  11. It is the next line back, but its personal choice, some people just live with it
  12. Depending on how accurate you want it, I'll mention the nose cone join line isn't the real join line and requires filling and sanding for accuracy. Search the forums for Tornado nose to find an illustration Also this kit doesn't contain the glass portion of the RAF nose LMRTS pod, make from scratch sprue or buy a whole replacement
  13. I saw that Marc but it's been in the pending box for ages so was hoping for alternatives
  14. Hi, Does anyone know of any 1/72 aftermarket wheels suitable for a VC10, not after exactly the right deign just something near and the right size Cheers
  15. Hi Tony

I'm wondering if you can help, I'm buildimg a 1/72 resin vc10 but its taken quite a hit during sanding,

While looking for plans to rescribe panel lines I found this old thread where you posted some plans and wondered if you would be kind enough to share them with me or tell me a source for the plans

    Regards

  16. Hi All, I have the Magna 1/72 resin VC10 kit on my bench but its cockpit is basic and a little crudely cast so does anyone know of any aftermarket goodies that arent for a 10 but would suffice. I'm looking at interior panel decals, seat belts, something for the dash, basically a 1/72 airliner cockpit, was looking at Eduards c130 cockpit set unless anyone knows of something better Cheers Nigel
  17. Hi, Does anyone know of a source for RAF type D roundels with the white surround, they are for a 1/48 Tornado so need to be a fair size Cheers
  18. Cheers for that, spent many a day out on that ultra low fence, also took some nice ones of the Harriers when they turned up in 99. Only wish I had editing software in those days. It would have sorted out some of the dodgy exposures
  19. Late reply but ZA330 B-08 was in the double grey scheme. dark sea uppers and dark cam fin, body and undersides. Tail numbers solid black, TTTE arrow carried but no squadron badge Two photograghs I took the day before it was lost are amongst these https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipNzokVyvh5ErDjHRWqZ41VYHAI8_dpzkZ0FGVEoD7r2e8tiEYPpoKCxGRzXm5luEA/photo/AF1QipNip5R4EJ24FyU0W3IzygkWZy4ULDi-cl6NfjBY?key=QTl5anlTaVZkeHFlYjR2QmQzaEg0TW11QWU0eEt3
  20. Regarding colours, this paint guide is excellent http://www.theworldwars.net/resources/resource.php?r=camo_rafmod RAF Tornado wraparound Dark Green BS241(641) Dark Sea Grey BS638
  21. Lovely build, looks a bit odd with tanks fins the wrong way around but apart from that cracking
  22. The Italeri is getting on now but is a good basic shape. Primarily its a GR1 but it can double as a 4 as long as you arent bothered about the old style pilot/nav control panels, you'll need to find a resin pod for the nose (or create one from scrap) and then fill a gun port GR4 stencil isnt commonally available so you'll need to source some, GR4 wingwalks are grey and the no steps are a X'd foot print not writing. Try to find the Model Alliance GR4 2005 anniversary decal sheet as this contains stencil Using the twin spine aerials gives you a machine upto 2015, aircraft later than this need the anti-collision bulges for the spine and under the nose. No-one makes these so you'll need to create them from card. The kit tanks and wing pods are ok but again show their age, I used those from the Revell kit for the last Italeri I built. So in summary it depends how accurate you want it
  23. Hi, these colours havent changed since ww2 so should be in most paint ranges, humbrol and hannants range certainly do it Good hunting
  24. The big maple on 5's 85th anniversary is the one I've always wanted but that looks like one that won't be covered
