  1. Many of us are getting to the primer stage with our builds and the results seem a little mixed. As I’ve mentioned before, it’s all part of the hobby and finding out now rather than later is a good thing. The Hurricane is looking great. Cheers.. Dave
  2. Getting to the Primer stage after lots of conversion work is great, however often highlights further areas of improvement which can be a little disconcerting. Rest assured that the primer has done its job so you’d rather find out now rather than after a nice coat of top coat paint. It’s all looking great by the way and will be so rewarding once completed. Cheers.. Dave
  3. OK.... oil cooler alone deserves a number of these !! 👍👍👍👍👍
  4. That's the problem with these new GB's, we all get hyped up to start a new kit even though we have many half-baked GB builds already on the desk! I do say, the Airfix P-51 Superkit was one my father built back in the mid 70's so I'll always have a soft spot for it for that reason alone. Cheers.. Dave
  5. Apologies for not acknowledging this great Sea Venom / Aquilon build so much earlier @Karearea. You are doing a great job and that replacement canopy will help improve what is essentially quite a good base kit. Cheers and best of luck with the rest of the build.. Dave
  6. Very nicely done mate, that 'Cuda looks super cool! Cheers, well modelled and thanks for taking part.. Dave
  7. ..... ...and what a wonderful result Enzo, your Hornet looks brilliant. Cheers and well modelled.. Dave
  8. Well done Troy, that really has come up wonderfully well and like others have mentioned the Irish markings help highlight your great build. Cheers and well modelled.. Dave
  9. There's some incredible work going on here Jeff, the time invested to get the panels lines correct is mid blowing! Cheers,, Dave
  10. Probably now eclipsed by the new Eduard kit, however I still think Tamiya’s mid 90’s 1/48 P-51D is still one of the most pleasant kits to build. Cheers and have a good GB lads… Dave
  11. Not sure if a UD:A existed, I would assume so, but best to do a search online for No. 452 Squadron Spitfires. This was the DK decal sheet I took the codes from. UD:W certainly did exist. Cheers.. Dave
  12. Nice work on the Blenheim Dennis, looks great with decals on. As per my previous post, just take the time that you need to get through this tough period. Family always comes first. Cheers.. Dave
  13. Dennis, our thoughts and prayers go out to your Father-in-Law and extended family. These days are never easy to get through so just do what’s needed to tend to your wife during the follow on period. Take care and I’m sure you’ll return here when the time is right. Cheers and condolences.. Dave Edit - the Mig-3 looks lovely with decals on too!
  14. Great to see this old Frog Penguin Battle being offered up for restoration here. As Troy asks… where do you find these kits?, I’m amazed how they are still around after all these years! I agree about the camouflage, looks quite good but I’d be replacing those fictional codes with something a little more accurate or even predating this to standard 1938 finish. Cheers and all the best.. Dave.
  15. That really does look lovely Colin, very neat crisp work is alway a pleasure to see. Cheers.. Dave
  16. I think I’ve heard those words before Ray…. All good mate, happens to all of us and must admit my Atracker has suffered the same fate to some degree but it’s still within arms reach. Cheers.. Dave
  17. Don’t worry too much Pete, if it’s not the right time to tackle this project, just put it aside and move onto something else. No point building something that’s not quite what or how you envisage it to be. Cheers.. Dave
  18. That does look quite good Steve. Love the smooth plastic, so Frog like. Cheers.. Dave
  19. Tony, it most certainly does. I doubt we are ever going to see a GB dedicated to these old kits, so if its ’FROG’ it fits and we would love to see you resurrect this old gem here. Cheers.. Dave
  20. What…. Just one beer? Might have to do something about that! Looking forward to the catch up, also glad to see the Fokker survived the trip back home, now for you to survive the long trek Down Under!
  21. Probably just deserves to be built OOB and on a stand. Perhaps modify the intakes and remove the oversized rivets and be done with it. Having said all that… neither of us won the auction!! Cheers.. Dave
  22. I agree on the original kit torrent, your new replacement version looks much better. Cheers.. Dave
  23. Impressive work Pete, that’s turned out fabulous. The home made decals (despite the size) have turned out perfectly. I think they look about right, although haven’t seen images of the real PV.6 to compare them against. Nice work mate. Cheers.. Dave
  24. Good to see you and your Sea Venom build on here @Quailane, however have to say, that's some awfully poured plastic on that kit. Looks like a good overall sand and polish will be needed, I'm sure you can get there with a little elbow grease. Cheers and all the best.. Dave
  25. Welcome aboard Ash, always great to see Frog's Canberra. It's a lovely kit, a little basic in some areas, however adding the additional detail is what makes these kits so much fun. Cheers and best of luck.. Dave.
