  1. We’ll have to check the build list to see just how many Sea Vemoms we’ve got here, there’s at least five I can think of with possibly more on the way! Looks like the Sea Venom is the new Blackburn Shark for this GB. Cheers and best of luck @bianfuxia
  2. Great to see this F-100 appear Selwyn, I really think the Frog boxes ended up looking so much better than their original Hasegawa equivalents, Frog’s decal schemes were exceptional good too. Either of your choices will look great on this very decent kit. Cheers and best of luck.. Dave
  3. Or possibly Rob, just build one of your fourteen Novo Masters and try each decal sheet until you find one that doesn’t explode once immersed in water!
  4. To be fair, High Planes Models are a short run manufacturer of kits and accessories which need a fair bit of prep work, however with time and effort can be built up into very satisfying models. This model includes injection modeled plastic with large sprue gates and a fair amount of flash. There’s white metal undercarriage and other detail parts that are actually quite nice. The nose transparencies are vac formed, however to the same excellent standard as Squadron / Falcon. 40 odd Aussie Beauforts were converted into transport aircraft and quite a number served late in the war across the Pacific theatre. If you can find a cheap one Mike, go for it! Cheers.. Dave
  5. Was it that obvious Pat?? Actually I had a better look at the Beaufreighter kit this morning and I think I’m warming to it. Just need to find the time and a few hefty handsaws to attack those sprue gates and remove all the flash! Once again… Thanks for the kit and I’m glad the decals are those that match the museum’s Sea Fury..that was a pure fluke! Cheers.. Dave I’m liking that idea!
  6. AI is the new Photoshop Rob… keep up mate!
  7. Looking great Pete, despite your words which suggest you’re having a tough time. The paintwork looks nice too, the cream / linen colouring is a nice shade of paint. Cheers.. Dave
  8. You’re really not selling me the notion of ever contemplating building a ship model with this thread I must say… this and @Mjwomack’s Shell Welder builds seem to be really tough going. Having said that… who’s in the slow process of researching images and drawings of the carrier HMAS Sydney after a pleasant visit to the Australian War Memorial only yesterday? Keep at it mate, you will win this fight in the end, we all know it! Cheers.. Dave
  9. Welcome to BM Peter from a fellow Brisney-land resident. There’s a few of us now on here, so it’s always good to have some local input and help close by if required. Limiting your areas of interest is quite smart, otherwise you’ll end up with a pile of kits from every nation / conflict / or whatever that you’ll have no chance of building before one’s modelling days are over. Still it’s a great hobby and helps the mind keep ticking over as we all get older. Cheers and warm welcome to BM.. Dave
  10. Agree, very nice work Pete. This thread is fast becoming an educational piece for future Vimy modellers. Nice progress. Cheers.. Dave
  11. Here’s a little treat for all you Frog GB modellers!! After many years of chatting, sparring and general friendly Aussie vs. Scottish modelling banter, your two GB hosts have finally caught up at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra. We all had a great day, sharing many family stories and realising just how many things we happen to have in common!… I tell ya, it’s a small world. Thanks for the day mate.. it was an absolute pleasure to meet both you and the good Mrs Jockney. Cheers. Dave.
  12. There’s a strange neatness to all your weathered models that I just love Ian. You’ve made this very old Airfix Centurion tank look so much better than the basic bits that come out of the box, it’s a great testament to your modelling skills. Cheers and well done.. Dave
  13. I’m not familiar with Frog’s Stuka so will be watching on to see how you get on with it. Cheers and best of luck Pedro.. Dave
  14. Welcome aboard Pedro. Frog’s Hornet is a classic kit and although it’s got a few shape issues still builds up quite nicely as you will see in the GB gallery. Nice choice of scheme too Cheers and best of luck.. Dave
  15. Frog’s dark blue plastic highlights the amazing amount of rescribing you’ve performed on this great build. I cannot wait to see this one painted and decalled. It’s gonna be just fantastic. Cheers.. Dave
  16. Seems like the 1/79th Blenheim’s engines are almost as big as the 1/72 scale kit, although the wing span is way shorter?
  17. That’s come up so wonderfully well. Love the final scheme and you’ve inspired me to go Comet hunting! Cheers and we’ll modelled.. Dave
  18. So true @Karearea, especially the line of mucking up a new kit!. I get so much enjoyment out of researching and adding extra bits to old kits and you can see from this GB there’s a few of us with similar ideas. Cheers.. Dave
  19. Just amazing work… I’d better start looking up the Thesaurus for a few more superlative words to use… my vocabulary is starting to get stretched! Cheers.. Dave
  20. I started one of these kits in the first Frog Sqaud GB, however ran out of steam and time to finish it off. Seeing all these great Sea Venom builds has me thinking of possibly resurrecting mine for this GB? This thread has certainly peaking my interest in the type once again. Cheers and nice progress.. Dave
  21. Thats looking superb Tony and you’re certainly getting others reminiscing on old Cortina times… a great talking piece thats for sure. Cheers.. Dave
  22. Looking really nice with a splash of colour and decals on. I’m liking this one a lot. Cheers.. Dave
  23. Great work Ray, the Airfix details are making a huge difference to Frog’s 1963 effort. Coming along very nicely mate. Cheers.. Dave
  24. Good pick up @AdrianMF, I’ll put money that you may have found out the hard way too! I’m sure you can recover this @Marklo, failing that just fill in the slots and be done with it - if that’s an option? Cheers.. Dave
  25. Many of us are getting to the primer stage with our builds and the results seem a little mixed. As I’ve mentioned before, it’s all part of the hobby and finding out now rather than later is a good thing. The Hurricane is looking great. Cheers.. Dave
