The 72 was difficult to land as the center of gravity was forward of the main gear, so you flare thinking you’re arresting the rate of descent but in reality your just driving the mains into the ground. Like most Boeings they usually like to land flat. Same with the 737-800’s or the 767-400’s. Either that or I just got lucky landing the damn thing !

Revell Boeing 767-300ER BA Chelsea Rose - Well Nearly
FLCH replied to Airbusboy's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Quite the coincidence seeing that model, I fly those 767-300’s for United into LHR regularly, but not for long as I retire in Jan 2024 after 36 years flying jetliners. You’re pretty accurate about the dirt, those birds work hard for a living ! -
Beautiful!

Welcome ! I’m in PA too between Allentown and Hamburg, you’ll find everyone here is pretty cool !

Agreed BM is one the most down to earth modeling sites ! I’m unable to even come close to some of the beautiful works of art that are shown here, but everyone is so accepting. Lots of snobbery in groups I associate with….especially the Porsche 911 group, most of us look for the most practical and sensible approach to working on our cars, there’s some that have the “If you have to ask the price then you shouldn’t ask” group but they make great targets of our collective ire. I was in an RC airplane group that had a fantastic “pilot” that would control his planes like no other, but wouldn’t talk to me as I was a beginner, I forgot to mention to him that I’m a Captain at United Airlines on the 767, but that’s ok 😂

Great work on the Trident, many happy days of looking skyward as a child seeing those red wings against the blue skies. -
I’m liking how Zebedee always said “Time for bed” 🤣

Authentic Airliners - United 757 "Her Art here" cs 1:144
FLCH replied to JK_Models's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
I got to drive it's brother a while ago, one of us is a wide body......it's not the aircraft ! -
Could have been both, EA855 was a TriStar Miami to Nassau in 83 that suffered a total engine failure of all three engines once airborne, they got one restored and manage to pull off a landing back to MIA. If you can remember whether it was a single aisle or dual aisle would help, seeing as the 727 was single aisle. Also the noise might be a factor too, with most of the noise being in the back of the plane of the 727. Spent 5 years sitting sideways as an F/E on the 727 a total of 7 before they'd let me near the controls of a big jet.....I think they still have the same reservations today 35 years later ! LOL.

I figured if I bought an Authentic Airliners Trident from Kurt, EE would have released their version the following week......still waiting !

Yes it’s allowed at my airline, we live 1200 miles apart on days off so there’s not much “domestic” going on, but we agreed I’m the boss at work, the rest is up for negotiation ! We usually fly together 90% of the time so it’s a much easier task seeing as we can anticipate each other’s moves, so the need to jump in isn’t there after flying together for the last 12 years. 😀

I flew into Manchester during Ciara, not often you hear the throttles hit the stops going forward then a second later hear them hit them back on a 767, we had an "enjoyable"ride last 3000 feet, plus or minus 20 knots, but the F/O greased it on. She got a round of applause after we got to the gate, I slept with her on the overnight....... Oh did I forget to mention my First Officer was my wife ? ....Shame on me !!!!

Very nice ! Numbers on the bottom both going same direction ?

“Thomson Boeing 737-800” in 1/144
FLCH replied to Scotsman07's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
It doesn't have to be specific at all as different planes park and get serviced, maybe stains under the engines wherever they maybe, for oil spilling on the ramp, or hydraulic fluid spills, sometimes even tyre skids as last minute adjustments have to be made because the initial approach and speed was all wrong.......Me ??? Noooo never made that blunder before in 30 years of driving on the ground......... 🙂 -

She's a beauty ! Just a hard working, bring home the bacon workhorse you see every day. Maybe a few oil stains on the ramp would be perfect 🙂 -
Great job Linescriber ! I can't fathom building a 1/72 biplane never mind mixing and matching parts from different kits. I didn't realize what a tough bird the Wapiti was until I read Spitfire Singh which I'm about halfway reading through, great book on the birth pangs of the Indian Air Force.

Beautiful model of a beautiful aircraft ! How did it go together ?
