  1. Hello dear people, Well hopefully I got this topic in the right place (sorry Mike if not!). The saga begins.... Finally started work on my scale 1:144 Airport, named St Piran Airport as this fictional airport is set in the fictional county of Cornwall, England. Even though the build has just begun, I thought getting a topic up on it would spur me on to actually working on it, rather than getting sidetracked and going the pub. Thus far the only part of the structure 'completed' is the roof. This gives me the rough shape & size of the main building from which I can work from. It still needs a coat of paper mache to smooth it out and a spray of undercoat ready for detailing, but all in all, it's pretty sturdy (built from A4 card and lots of contact adhesive). The pic below gives you an idea of the size (the terminal will be built later). DSC_0001 by piranairport, on Flickr I've picked up 20 N-scale cars (which I need about 60 really) and have 100 painted n-scale people ready to hang around the airport. I've bought in some LED lighting for it (the roof will be removable so I can fit lighting inside). Of course I will update this when I can, so so much to do!!! Danke, Paul.
  2. Was the only part of the wedding I was watching it for... disappointed, so will just go fly my Fishbed around the garden making engine noises as I go.
  3. So far there are some 737-200 (which will have my own livery on for a fictional, regional airliner that picked them up on the cheap ), some A319s, an A380 and soon I should have in a 787 Dreamliner and a Beluga. Danke, Paul (who slept through the wedding).
  4. Cheers, finally got to bed, but now need to spend some time peeling glue of my fingers, make a brew and eat some tofu (the urge to eat the random Asda purchase is great!). I shall start up a thread about the airport with construction pictures updated on a regular basis.... assuming I can find a the correct forum for it Special Paul.
  5. Fictional. No actual plans drawn up for it, all being built from the depths of my imagination. Not a huge airport, the main building is 1meter by 50cm thus far. Been meaning to do this for a while and seeing how I have time on my night shifts to build planes or fiddly bits and time before work to dedicate to the airport, then why the eck not. The mrs just nods and calls me special. Paul.
  6. Cheers Chris, I am currently constructing a 1:144 airport and have until now (and through my life) only dealt with Airbus. So seeing how I am picking up Boeings left right and center I thought I better pick livery that was at least current to the 200, although given they are rubbish unless taking off from a mountain side, I will make sure any further purchases are of the 700 onwards (and therefore more current). So danke again for the pics... I did check the site before, but in a rushed state as the glue on my roof had gone tacky Paul.
  7. Hello People, Now I am just a nerd who loves building stuff... but I won't go into that here as this is real aviation and bits of plastic glued to my fingers isn't. So, question, regarding said 'real aviation'. Which Airliners currently still have fleets of the 737-200 in operation? I say fleets, can just be the odd one knocking around. Cheers me dears, Paul.
