  1. Excellent, really want to see how that one looks.
  2. Wow, that looked incredible. Really makes me want to grab a CMR kit.
  3. Cool! I've been waiting a while for this one.
  4. Nope, there was a real YF-17 (which later was developed into the F-18, I believe). Nice "stealth fighters", Mike! Far better looking than the prosaic genuine article.
  5. I get a lot of flack for this attitude from my wife, who is teeming with potential unborn children, but if Navy Bird thinks it too, it must be right.
  6. I always thought it had something to do with modifications to the cannons, but I don't know a lot about heathen foreign aeroplanes.
  7. I see you've pushed the atrocious Fiennes/Thurman remake from your mind.
  8. Not to diminish the value of your contribution, but taken out of context, this may be one of the greatest sentences ever uttered on Britmodeller.
  9. Can the flaps be built "un-dropped"?
  10. Looks jolly nice indeed, and brush painted, no less!
  11. I think Thunder & Lightnings said it best: "In what appeared to be a competition to produce the ugliest aircraft of all time, the Blackburn [YA.7] and Fairey [Gannet] types had now been joined by the Shorts SB.3 - an aircraft of such ugliness that the very air surrounding it recoiled in horror, and thus it had serious problems staying airborne."
  12. Does anyone have any photos of a High Planes Canberra as built or on the sprue? I'm intrigued.
  13. Unless your large stash resulted in the hardship, of course...
  14. I really didn't get that feeling at all, though I grant you, the election of the president probably made it more likely that there'd be sufficient interest in the subject to get a movie made. For my own part, I found the air combat and plotting a little weak, and I wish more had been done to develop the rivalry with the Luftwaffe ace. It was definitely cool to see so many planes, but I was more enthused with the possibilities for future films than I was with the actual move. I DID like David Oyelowo; I thought he did a great job. If I had to pick between paying to see Red Tails, which is not a great movie by any stretch of the imagination, or seeing some other, infinitely more mindless summer movie here in the USA, like, god help us, Battleship, or Transformers, or whatever, then I'd happily watch Red Tails.
  15. I really love the airbrush work you did with the camo; very nice tight demarcations. I'm very jealous! How did you mask?
  16. Ah, Nick, I was hoping you'd show up! Would you recommend the Vallejo colour as the most accurate, then, or simply adequate? Do you have a preference? In general, I prefer to avoid paint mixes, because I am a disaster at it.
  17. Is there a generally accepted "best" acrylic color for Dark Slate Grey? I have both Polly DSG and Humbrol 224; I've heard that the former is too dark, and the latter may be too faded. Is there a happy medium?
  18. What a great build, and what a cool subject. I love the look of the interwar RAF bipes in camouflage.
  19. Hullo, A while back, I asked a similar question: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.p...4909726&hl= Hopefully the answers there prove of some help to you.
  20. Aw shucks, fellas. I'm blushin'! I used Model Master Dark Earth and Polly RAAF Foliage Green, both acrylics.
