The beauty of it is that the Colourcoats guy is one of those people who cares a lot about getting the paint accurate, so the can was just successfully kicked down the road to the perfect man for the job, to hopelessly mix metaphors.

I generally don't mess with those PE bits for that reason. I suspect lead wire might answer better in the scale, if anyone can even see them at all. -
You and me both. That's what makes the late-war Sky-ish RLM76 so great.

Supermarine Seafire FR.47; Special Hobby 1/72 - FINISHED
Procopius replied to Ngantek's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
Not necessarily so! During Suez, an RN fitter mentioned that while they had taken immense pride in getting their aircraft looking nice and marked with properly demarcated strips in the correct colours, the RAF ran out of yellow and made its own, and the French didn't even bother making the stripes the correct width. So there's some evidence to support this. And I'm sure you've seen this, but this 800 Squadron Seafire 47 taking off from HMS Triumph in July of 1950, Korea-bound, looks to be in decent shape.- 140 replies

Yep, about a kilometer from my home. I walk past it on my way home from the train, and alway peer in to see if I can catch sight of his shiny dome. I also use and love this stuff.

I think it was perfectly enjoyable! I definitely heard my dad cry during it, which normally only happens during Saving Private Ryan and Gettysburg. Dude. You have no idea.

1/72nd RAF Armstrong Whitworth Argosy C.1. Mach2 kit. Finished

Based on my observations in 2015 and 2019, a man in a hi-vis probably can summon up compliance from the average Briton more readily than whoever's Prime Minister. A heady responsibility, friend. -

I enjoy a nice long walk if I have something to listen to. I used to do an eight-miler around my in-laws' house in the winter, just me, an audiobook, and a thermos full of hot cocoa (okay, and some rum). -

Who steals a model? Let alone a model C-130? I am, thank you! I just got back from a 5k run, even, so my lungs work (even if my body is slow and flabby). -

I'm living vicariously through this build, I'll have you know. The Argosy is so goofy-looking, I love it. -
It was decided, after the needle was extracted and surprisingly little blood came out, that a bandaid would suffice.

Don't you do tanks? I literally am afraid to try that. I don't think it's a bad kit at all, it's just weirdly complicated, like trying to assemble a Swiss watch. Oh Cedric, how I've longed to hear you compliment my pair! -
I've been much less enamoured of him after some (I grant you, anecdotal) comments on a F-4 Phantom facebook page by former USAF enlisted who served under him when he lead a Phantom wing and absolutely despised him.

Ced, a belated happy birthday from me as well! A small token of my esteem is winging its way to you, with the added virtue that if you do not enjoy it, you can burn it for warmth or to cook something. I admit to being both intrigued and alarmed by these "mandrels". -
