      I've swapped it for a 1/72 B-29. Result!

      If you order a Hasegawa 1/72 Phantom and get a 1/48 one instead can I have it?

      Only if you promise to stop building Fw190s.

      translating this to an aircraft modeller's point of view - Just build a model for the sake of having fun and with no agenda i.e.like we did when we blew our pocket money on airfix and matchbox models and rushed home to build them in an hour ;)

    3. CedB

      CedB

      Build an easy, familiar Spitfire next, when you're ready. Just to re-mojo.

      Frustrating but I'm sure it'll be back soon enough.

  3. Yeesh, Australia, wish you'd warned me about Season 2 of Danger 5.

      LOL! Ain't seen it at all yet, but now it's definitely on the list.

  4. 75th Anniversary of First Narvik today.

  5. I have to say, I find the F-16 incredibly dull, but they're still pretty cool when they go roaring down the airstrip ahead of the jetliner you're on and then vanish heavenwards.

      As a matter of fact, Mike, we DID talk about you, and what an interesting guy you were, and how dangerous the appeal of 1/144 airliners can be.

  7. I'm getting a little tired of universe's constant reminders of my insignificance. I get it, enough already.

      How about some Stephen Crane?

      I saw a man pursuing the horizon;

      Round and round they sped.

      I was disturbed at this;

      I accosted the man.

      “It is futile,” I said,

      “You can never —”

      “You lie,” he cried,

      And ran on.

      Procopius

      I do love Stephen Crane. Excellent taste in verse, Bill.

  8. Wow, there's not a lot out there for 1/72 Mosquito decals

      Almost nothing for B(IV), a little more for fighter variants I have found

    2. Procopius

      Procopius

      Yes, very frustrating, as I'm trying to find some for a B.IV. I suppose the expense/scarcity of the Tamiya kit is the reason.

      I've just been delivered xtradecals XO39-72 with markings for an FB VI: HR241 TH*M if you'd like them. I plan on using the kit versions for my trio.

  9. Good news: Finally scored a Special Hobby Beaufort! Bad news: It's a Mark VII!

      I recall seeing a build of the I?II where all the windows were filled in and redrilled. Check positions on all SH beauforts.

      I suspect it's something to do with avoidance of liability for libel. So we might have "a well-known modeller with a predilection for hedgerow animals..." and then say something scurrilous without it being actionable. See also "adulterous (well known) premier league footballers".

      Let's hope so! Save the one down in Cornwall, get Coventy's one airworthy again and let me build a few new Shackleton kits. That would be a perfect year! :-)

      I had that problem, thin them with Mr Tamiya X-20A.

      I used some humbrol acrylic on prillers Fw190 with this method.

      (Then they go on pretty much just like tamiya)
