  1. Very impressive skills we are seeing on the Canberra, my friend. I particularly like the subtle and effective weathering. Thanks for sharing with us. Happy New Year to All. Chris.
  2. You might have to rely on on-line shopping with home delivery if this was your run-around..... Chris.
  3. Does anyone have the cash to do this with an EE Lightning...? I think the results would be "interesting".... Chris.
  4. Only found out about this today (always the last to find out...) Thoughts anyone? Chris.
  5. This is great news!! Have always wanted to see an Elefant "in the metal"... I wonder how the Tank Museum managed to sort it out? Does anyone know the circumstances surrounding its arrival? If the Sturmtiger is also Bovington bound, then that would be the icing / cherry on the cake! Cheers. Chris.
  6. Hi, Dave. I too have the Aires wheel bay set, but - unfortunately - I have yet to use it. I would take an educated guess that it will need a bit of work to get it fitted, but (probably) not nearly much work as some other suppliers. I remember reading a review of a Black Box 1/32 cockpit several years ago (for a P-47 Thunderbolt, I think), which concluded that with all the extra, intensive work required to get the thing to (barely) fit, it would make a lot more sense to simply use the kit-supplied 'pit! Not the best recommendation in the world.... Aires have an excellent reputation for their detailing (as I'm sure you know), but I've been told they nearly always require some fettling to get them in position... Hope this of some help to you. Chris.
  7. Afraid I have to take exception to the "dirty jets" comment, gentlemen.... They didn't get dirty - they get interesting! There's WAY too much pristine paint work in the aviation world as it is. Dirty air-frames RULE!! Long may they continue..... Chris.
  8. Looking very good to me, my friend. I have a number of similar 1/24th cars in my stash (all bought from the legendary Matt Irvine), but I have yet to build one of them. Some day, some very distant day.... Thanks for sharing with us. Chris.
  9. An excellent video about a tricky subject! I have a Hobbyboss 1/16th scale Tiger 1 that this technique would work a treat on. I've have been wondering about how to do the Zim' on it for a while now. Thanks very much for sharing with us. Cheers. Chris.
  10. Thank you for the information, Eagle Aviation. Chris.
  11. A minor detail, exdraken.... Chris.
  12. A really stunning looking aircraft. Saw her at the 2016 RIAT and she looked like a million dollars...... I wonder if Shy Art could be persuaded to produce a set in 1/32nd scale? Cheers. Chris.
  13. Good old re-casts, eh? I've bought a number of vinyl figures from the Thai merchant previously mentioned. I would say the quality ranges from reasonable to "just what the hell were they thinking!?". I know that many model-makers would happily throw all re-casters in jail for what they do, but I take a slightly more philosophical view of the subject. The fact is that I would never pay the large sums for the original kits (simply don't feel the typical cost is justified, particularly if the kit's gone OOP and is considered rare), but I would pay around 15 quid for the knock-off re-casts. I guess it's a case of what are you prepared to pay / just how much do you want this kit? What does anyone else think? Chris.
  14. Hello. Even after magnifying the picture, I can't make out what it's meant to be. If I squint at it, it looks a bit like a very-stylized man's face, but that's only an educated guess on my part. I wish you good luck in finding a better image of it. Cheers. Chris.
  15. Thanks for the compliment, Sir. That sequence of events is WAY too close to the truth, by the way..... Chris.
  16. This is my typical work flow..... A. Start the kit. Get very enthusiastic about how I'm gonna build and paint it. B. Get the kit about 30% made. Rapidly loose all the previous enthusiasm I had, from three weeks earlier. C. Put kit back in its box and on the shelf, with vague mutterings about "I'll finish it off some other time..." (like in my next life!) D. A few months later, forget I've even got one. E. Buy a new one and then remember I already have a part-built version. F. Put the untouched model in the Kit Swap at Telford. G. Go for a beer. Oh, well. Chris.
  17. Not too sure you need a lot of tips for your build, my friend. She's coming along very nicely from what I can see. If you need some references piccies, I believe we have some in the Walk Around section on Britmodeller or - failing that - take a look at the Prime Portal sight. Good luck with the build - I've always had a real soft spot for the '29. Cheers. Chris.
  18. This is excellent, sir! It is a real tribute to your build / painting skills. Out of interest, why is the robot's hand on the operator's shoulder? It's a very nice touch and it gives the scene a more "human" feel... I just wondered why? Thanks for sharing with us. Chris.
  19. Now, there's something a bit different...... Thanks for sharing with us. Excellent work. Chris.
  20. Really excellent work we're seeing here, my friend. The figures look particularly good. Thanks for sharing with us. Chris.
  21. Superb building and painting skills on two excellent, super-detailed resin figures (also, not subjects that we see every day!). Thanks for sharing with us. Chris.
  22. Hi, mate. Chris here. You had some decals off me a few months ago. How are you? Have you had a try with super-glue gel? I find it's much easier use than its very runny cousin. Hope this helps. Chris.
  23. I wish everyone good luck with this. Hope it sees out its entire run. In the world of "Part Works", completion does not seem to be guaranteed. Cheers. Chris.
  24. Really looking forward to seeing the finished diorama..... Thanks for sharing with us. Chris.
