  1. The ones I have here have no covering so I guess I can use them on the F-16!
  2. The ones i have are smooth. Perhaps it is the fuses!
  3. Quick question on this for those 'in the know'.... What is the difference between 'Navy' GBU-38's and 'Air Force' GBU-38's? I've a set of Wolfpack's 'Navy' ones but don't know what the difference is! Cheers Dave
  4. Another question regarding this kit chaps. Has anyone used the True Details sets for the cockpit, bombardier area and waist gun position? Dave
  5. Nice work Rich. I was planning to add some detail the the wheel bays but i'm losing interest in the kit! Doesn't look like you're having as much trouble with the fit as I am. Dave
  6. Thanks mate. Still looks very messy but a coat of primer will sort that out. Dave
  7. A bit more to show this afternoon. Thanks to Rich's observation, i had to correct a cock up i'd made and remove parts of the main landing gear bay in order to fit the gear legs. This required some bending, breaking and swearing but I got there in the end! As well as fixing that error, i attached the ventral strakes, arrestor hook, antennae and cleaned up the exhaust area: Moved on and added the bulged nav lights on the intake trunking as well as adding the pylon for the Litening pod. I binned the kit part as it was horrific and replaced it with an example from Hasegawa's weapon set 'E': You may also notice the filler around the main gear well. As i've mentioned previously, this is quite a troublesome area, and it needs a bit of work. I'm not sure if it is just my skills (or lack thereof!), this particular kit or the Kinetic F-16's in general but I haven't heard of too many people having problems with this section, so might just be me! General look of the underside: A few more small bits just need cleaned up. Note also the deployed flaps have been attached. On that note, the flaps had two very prominent raised lumps that needed removed: Next, i moved to the nose to tidy up that mess! As i'm adding AOA covers, i removed the probes in order to get a better clean up. 40 minutes later, i think it's about as clean and smooth as i'll get it: A few more small bits to add along with a good tidy up and that will be her ready for priming. More to follow. Dave
  8. Bugger! Didn't realise that mate, thanks for the heads up. I'll have to sort that later. Dave
  9. Love the Revell build, nice work. I've a 1/48 Testors beast to tackle soon! Dave
  10. Looks to be a much tidier fit than the kit part! Dave
  11. Thanks mate. Should be commencing building next week! Dave
  12. Thanks for all the info chaps. I think i'll settle for the £29.99 kit on Hannants unless someone on here has a pro-modeller version they'd be happy to part with! Dave
  13. Thanks mate. I have a 1/48 P-51 to enter and, if i get my hands on one, a 1/48 B-17G Dave
  14. Glad to hear. I'm building an Israeli F-16D from kinetic at the minute and i'm having a bit of trouble with the fit of some of the parts! Keep up the good work, Dave
  15. Very nice work. How did you find the fit of the engine trunking on the kit? Dave
  16. Thanks for the info chaps. Hannants have two kits at two different prices. Can i assume this is the pro modeller edition and this is the standard version? Cheers Dave
  17. I see you have some filler on the exhaust section too! Interesting about the two tone grey as you say. The Sufa I build was two tone grey mouldings also, and the fit was much better. The overall grey ones seem to have the worse fit. Perhaps it was a moulding batch or some-such. In saying all that, she should still build up quite nicely
  18. I agree with your description of the nose section! It is a mess! The seats are from pavla. They are quite detailed units, i don't think the camera has done them any justice. They fit snugly into the cockpit too. Dave
  19. Thanks for the confidence boost Joel I'll take an F-14 any day! Though i do have some kits to build soon that i've never attempted, so should be interesting! I still think the Tamiya F-16 kit rules the roost, from what i remember anyway. Hopefully, my second entry will prove this to be true! Dave
  20. I built the Sufa a year or so ago and had very few problems with it, so maybe it is indeed just the kit. The one part on all the kits that i believe is a problem is the nose with 3 separate panels and then the nose cone to add in.
  21. Thanks Joel. Perhaps it is the kit and not my lack of building skills!
  22. Think i'll have to get one of these myself! Dave
  23. Hello all, Just wanting to know what the RM B-17G kit is like to build? What is the difference between the basic kit and the pro-modeler edition? Any help/info/tips would be appreciated. Cheers Dave
  24. May I join in on this one too please? Dave
