  1. Tons of aftermarket Werner! The cockpit and opened nose avionics bays are from the Res-Im set which is very nice and has a vac canopy with all the inside framing including the front armored glass. Yes, various Eduard etched sets, Quickboost air scoops, Master pitots (essential!), Reskit gun muzzle, Amory weighted wheels on Revell landing gear, Archer rivets, Authentic decals and MRP/Akan paints and Aerobonus weapons. I used Quickboost Su-22 flares with plastic rod to modify into the big ones on the Ukrainian Su-25s. They along with the landing gear, ladder are painted a unique blue-gray from other Su-25s which appealed to me as well as the cockpit being the modern darker Su-35 color which is unlike other lighter colored cockpits of Su-25s.
  2. Yes, Archer sheet AR88014, small sheet and not cheap but they do go a long way and are easy to work with. Very true, they took some beating down but I'm glad I used them, I think after a lot of work on a dual Su-25 build I would've lost the energy with the masking.
  3. Hearing about the Zvezda 1/48 Su-25 being produced I dug into the stash and decided to finish some of the KP kits with aftermarket stuff I have collected for them. Nothing like the threat of a new release to get me clearing the stash. Lots of aftermarket, scratch built some minor details, added rivets, new chaff and flare launchers. Love to say I painted it but I cheated with the Authentic Decals digital sheet. This aircraft Blue 06 sadly was shot down in the previous Russian invasion of 2014. Lots of rivets added among other small details. Size comparison with Su-35
  4. Good work! Is there a build log? You've employed some interesting techniques and wondered what your thoughts were with the paint comparisons (Akan/MRP).
  5. Then I recommend the new Zvezda Mi-24 Hind, you'll have no rivets to trouble you
  6. Oh thank goodness, that'l save some time.
  7. Adding to drake122's question - did you also dip the tinted front canopy in Pledge? Great tutorial as always.
  8. Great work! I've built a few Collect-Aire and was never able to find this one so it's great to see it in such a fine build.
  9. Looks great! It's nice to make a kit like that isn't it? I was impressed with how well the decals were designed to fit.
  10. Anigrand (of course) made one it seems. I don't think the silver finish did much for it but this scheme was pretty nice And not the most advanced looking cockpit
  11. Great paintwork, lot's of effective and subtle details, really effective.
  12. Has anyone tried the MRP gloss white with the hardener? They seem to get mixed 1/1 ratio. I've been doing a lot of white recently doing prototypes so have been experimenting. Because my prototypes have colorful stripes I have been painting the white in lacquer and the stripes in enamel to ease clean up without dissolving the white base. It's been working as the two projects below show but I have found Tamiya gloss white and Mr Paint gloss white tediously thin (and hard to use as a 'Tipp-ex' like correction)so the suggestions of Tamiya Liquid Surfacer Primer White sounds promising.
  13. I found a photo of the 'fitting' of the intakes And another of the cockpit tub scabbing parts from several sources. n
  14. My bad, I used the intakes from the Kinetic F/A-18A kit (which I have replaced with Phase Hanger intakes). Not too much work, some thinning of the internal fuselage plastic and a bit of putty/sanding, worth it as they made a big difference.
  15. Yes, I'm making the white Rafale A right now and want to do one of the white Harrier schemes. If you hit the 'prototype' tag at the beginning you'll see some others I've done. The are the old Monogram kits from 1979 and 1980 Werner. To me they were the obvious choice despite there being much easier, newer kits I could've gone with.
  16. Great work, what a cool scheme. It's gonna look good on the shelf with the others.
  17. This was on deck right after my YF-16 and again using the vintage Monogram. The 1980 kit F-18 has the open LEX slots perfect for the first prototype but still needs some small changes, mainly adding dog tooth on the elevators and wings plus some changes in the cockpit instrument panel. I added seamless intakes and a vac canopy as the original was too small and not the more rounded omega shape. In both kits I used the original landing gear struts, they are of the day's molding capabilities but despite some chunky areas are well detailed and even have the brake lines included. Paint was a mix of Testors MM enamel blues and Testors gold, Caracal and Monogram decals. Caracal had matched their 'F-18 Hornet - The Early Years' with the original blue auto paint used in the rollout F-18 which saved me from repainting the Monogram decals the correct color.
