  1. Maybe a bit off topic, but I hope you'll forgive me.. I just want to share a little bit about model kit manufacturing.. The answer is simple, and it's SHORT RUN limitations! When you're making a short run kit, it's a very strict limitation on how much you can detail and how fine you can mould.. It's also VERY expensive to make these kits. The manufacturers themselves (MPM, Sword etc) can sell for quite low prices, but for others (Tarangus, Twobobs, Pacific Coast Models, Xtrakit and you name it) who are depending on subsuppliers to do the work, the price becomes higher as you first have to pay the manufacturer, then you have to sell it to a distributor, who sells it to a retailer who on top of the price has to add VAT.. For Revell or Airfix, selling 10000 kits is no problem. For smaller manufacturers, selling 1000 or 2000 kits may take forever. That only makes it worth to make kits that nobody else would make. You'd never see a Lansen from Airfix or Revell for instance. But if you reeeeaaally want a Lansen or a Buckeye for instance, then hopefully the price will be at least acceptable anyway. If you don't want a Lansen or a Buckeye, would you have bought it anyway because the price was lower? I don't think so.. Then I guess it's up to each manufacturer to choose how to communicate with the modellers. Tarangus has started a Facebook page in order to get feedback from modellers. Not only on the current products, but also for future releases. What can be done better, what is most important for our customers? One thing is for certain, you'll never be a rich man as model kit manufacturer, but you'll have a lot of fun!
  2. According to the test pilots, the 32 gamma was "slightly heavy" on the nose.. No wonder. A great build, looking forward to seeing the finised result! Would you mind posting some pix on our Facebook site of your progress? If you search Facebook for Tarangus you'll find us! // Fredrik Zetterberg
  3. I'm following this thread closely as you're doing a WONDERFUL job on this kit! Would you mind posting some pix on our Facebook site as well? Search for Tarangus and you'll find us! Best regards Fredrik Zetterberg
  4. I was at the Royal International Air Tattoo in 1993 when the two "Russian MiGs" MiG-29s collided in midair and crashed. Has there ever been a decal shett made for these jets in 1/48? If yes, anyone who knows where I can get them? (Two weeks after this, I was at the Stockholm Water Festival and watched the air show when the first production JAS-39 Gripen crashed.. It took me a while to feel comfortable when watching airshows again!!)
  5. I WILL ask, as this is one of the best rumours I've heard in years!! How the h*ll do you know this? Is it just a rumour or a fact? I'd have a big problem explaining to my wife how my stash of kits that I promised to reduce suddenly increased again..
  6. Just a quick update.. The kits arrived last week to our warehouse. We will be packing and shipping orders this week to our retailers! Best regards Fredrik
  7. Deliveries are expected in May/June of the Saab Lansen in 1/48 scale. First version will be the A32A attack-Lansen. We now have (so far an extremely simple) website, which will be updated as soon as we have more information! Best regards Fredrik Zetterberg Tarangus AB
