  1. The is the 1/76 Airfix "Assault Gun" from a very old bagged kit. For it's age it is nicely detailed. A few bits were added from the Fujimi kit like mg, v-scope and rear deck wheels.
  2. Excellent shots. Here is ine I took in Feb 1977 when the Museum was in a small building.
  3. Thank you Joachim and Martin. Any kit can be built up nicely with a bit of care, lots of putty, and patience. I appreciate it. David
  4. Hey Bill, I used the original clear parts as the masters and used my Mattel Vac-U-Form machine to make copies. I don't think any aftermarket versions would work. Thank you. David
  5. Here is the original Ju88 built mostly out of the box with vac-form clear parts and replacement wheels. I used Model Master paints. Decals from the decal binder.
  6. Thank you gentlemen. This setup only exists as a photo. It is not a fixed diorama, but rather an imaginative arrangement of various models to show a typical airfield scene. I appreciate you looking at my work. David I'll keep that under consideration.
  7. Here's photo setup of my Revell B-26 along with various other kits incorporated to create an airfield scene. Airfix, Academy, Hasegawa, Preiser and after market kits were used.
  8. This is the Military Aviation Museum's de Havilland Mosquito Mk26 tucks in it's gear. Virginia Beach, VA 2015.
  9. Thank you Steve. I enjoyed building it.
  10. Just off the bench a couple of days ago is this Matchbox Spitfire Mk IX. This is an original edition from the 1970s and not the revamped version. I replace the canopy and wheels and added, more like forced, an Eduard photo-etch cockpit. The easiest part was using the wonderful AML masks. It was finished with Tamiya paints. There is a minor error with the Czech insignia, and I'm looking for a replacement set. The white should be up. Comments welcome
  11. A very cool and unique image. Nice shot.
  12. Thank you very much for your comments. I hope more Mossie wrecks get restored to flying condition. Any prospects for a flying example in the UK?
  13. Excellent shots all around and I especially like the head-on F-16 photo. Where is Konya AB? What Camera kit?
  14. Here are some photos I took Sunday, May 17, 2015 at the Virginia Beach, Virginia Military Aviation Museum airshow. Mostly WWII aircraft. The camera was a Canon 1Dx with a 70-200mm f2.8 II with a 2x converter.
  15. Here are some photos taken May 17, 2015 at the Warbirds over the Beach airshow in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The Mosquito is part of museum's collection. . Canon 1-Dx with 70-200mm f2.8 II and 2x extender.

  17. Here's an overall photo of the scene. Nothing is fixed. It is all setup for the photo.
  18. Thank you Gentlemen for your kind comments. As for the details of the diorama here is a run down of kits used. The Jeep is Academy, Truck is Hasegawa, figures are by Airfix, and Preiser. The control tower is by Airfix, Scafolding and bike are by flight-path, Tents and quonset hut by various eBay ventdors. HTH. Thanks again.
  19. Hey, Nick. Yes it was covered in rivets. It was sanded and rescribed. She turned out OK.
