Benson replied to Mark's topic in The Rumourmonger
Ooooooh! Nice aircraft, have to keep an eye on this. -
Hasegawa new releases November 2012 - February 2013
Benson replied to Robert's topic in The Rumourmonger
I've had a Revell F-15E sat in the stash whilst i try to find the TwoBobs Tiger Meet 2005 decals for it. Now after lots of frustration and moaning, Hasegawa go and solve the problem! Thanks for the heads up Robert. Simon. -
Theres a program on BBC2 at the moment "Helicopter Rescue". This one concentrates on RAF Valley and RMB Chivenor squadrons. Anybody thats interested should be able to find episodes 1-3 on iPlayer. Simon.

Just checked my box and got the same problem, AGM-88 decals are not on the sheet (either sheet). Simon.

Ooooohhh! Very tempting. Thanks for the heads up. Any idea of release date? Simon.

I saw a pilot with the "Gripen Instructor" patch on his flight suit a few weeks ago at Boscombe. So although i've not seen the aircraft, somebody still claims to be flying it. I'll let you know if i see the aircraft, but unfortunately i don't get a lot of spare time to watch them fly around the area. Simon.

Snap! So did i. No1 RS. -
Anyone know if the Revell/Italeri (or any other) am detail packs will fit the Hase kit? AND are there any good am Decal sheets that will let me paint it something other than grey? Found these .....Linky Thanks, Simon.

I got one a few weeks ago, what an excellent airbrush for the price. A great step up from a single action siphon airbrush. Simon.

I seem to have caught the agressor/adversary bug a the moment, so i'm hoping this will be a good one.

I'm going to try an alternative method with the next model i complete. Going to mount a small(ish) plaque to a wall in the modelling room. A piece (or two) of acrylic rod coming out at a right angle to the wall and then bending horizontally by 90 degrees to run parallel to the wall. I'll then either rest the kit on these rods or attatch another couple of short rods as shaped cradles. If extra support is needed, i may run the acrylic past the front of the kit and back into the wall mount, in a sort of flat bottomed "U" shape. The end effect should be lots of kits flying across the wall. If i can get the wall mount small enough, it shouldn't intrude on the overall flying model effect. This obviously wont work for kits with a large wingspan, but its the best way i can think of to use the available wall space. Don't know wood sizes and acrylic thicknesses for size of kit yet, but i'll work them out as i go. Simon.

F16 Mlu "Tigermeet 09" (Revell, 1:72)
Benson replied to Vajled's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Very nice Vajled. Looks like the hours spent with decals were worth the effort. I have one of these in the cupboard. Only hope it turns out as nice as yours. Nice pink light by the way -
Thanks for the info. I've only ever used Tamiya, but needs must i suppose. I'll try to find a shop selling gunze, if not then Vallejo might be easier to get hold of.

For a walkthrough of Promodellers (now Flory) wash: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BwHP6Tj13DE...be_gdata_player Phil Flory goes into using it on gloss/satin/matt and different wipe off methods. Theres a part 2 aswell. It works perfectly for me, following the instructions. Hope this helps.

I'm close to painting my current project (AFV Club - 1/48 F-5F - Williams AFB 1979) and have tried to find the three FS numbers asked for in Tamiya colours. Fs36440 = xf-55 Fs36375 = xf66 Fs36495 = xf14 The only problem is that xf14 looks a little too green, and i've read that Tamiya's colours are usually "nearest match" to Fs numbers. Can anybody confirm/correct the colour match please? Thanks in advance for any help. Simon.

Excellent build and brilliant subject. I have the same kit on a shelf waiting for my skills to catch up. Only hope i can do it the justice you have. Thanks for sharing.

Hase 1:48 F16 with a few bits
Benson replied to Dr.Jellyfingers's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
Nice detailing. Looking forward to watching it progress. -
The article revolves around the quality of the kit and how well it goes together. Number of sprues in box, flash or not, decals provided etc. A little is mentioned about adding aftermarket, but only to state the manufacturer/item no. There is very little in there about techniques, just a basic whats in the box, it goes together like this, i had these problems and added these extra bits...... The conclusion ends with "for a kit with such accuracy and such a reasonable price, it is in my opinion the only way to go". I am aware that modellers have kits in the stash, i have, but the article may as well have been based on a kit that went out of production 20yrs ago. "Dont bother being inspired if you dont have one in the stash" or "now go and buy the more expensive, inferior kit and some totally different decals" wouldn't have been the messages i'd have put my money on. I actually liked the article. Its a great looking build. Thats probably what was most disapointing, to find out that there'd be little chance of using either the kit or the afm decals.

Got that in my watching list

Just browsing the June edition and i see the Revell 1/48 F-15 E review, a well detailed, great kit with great aftermarket decals.......... So how suprised was i to find that the kit is sooooooo hard to find, AND TwoBobs list their decal sheet as "sold out , probably won't be reprinted". Whats the point of showing modellers what you "could" build, but only if its already in your stash? I finished the artical feeling inspired, but soon hit mother earth with a bang when searching the t'interweb for the products. Simon. A slightly frustrated tigermeet fan.

Very helpful, thanks Have been eyeing this kit for a while, but wasn't sure of the quality. Its now officially on the wanted list.

Am i right in thinking the ones in the photo are 65% ? I've been led to believe that its all about depth. If they are flush with the top of the wing leading edge they are 100%, anything below the top edge is 65% ? Looking for clarification rather than stating a fact here, so apologies if i'm confusing things.

Got a set on order. Got to like the Harrier

Some nice designs there. Hope someone releases a few of them as decal sets.

Tiger schemes!......can't get enough of them. Is the "T" on the tail supposed to be stunted?
