  1. Always makes my day to see another one of your finished builds, amazing work!
  2. I wasn't a huge fan of the scheme at first, but it has grown on me and continues to do so now that it is finished
  3. Next up is a RAF P-47 Mk.I from the Tamiya Razorback kit
  4. Personally I will not be using the Brassin cockpit again. Detail isn't bad, certainly better than the kit parts, but for me it was not nearly as "drop fit" as advertised. Perhaps it was user error, but in the future I will be using the new cockpit set from BarracudaCast for my Eduard Spits Thanks! I used Tamiya for the Dark Green and Medium Sea Grey and a custom mix of Tamiya and Gunze for the Dark Earth, all acrylics
  5. Thanks guys! AK-Interactive's Ultra Matte Varnish
  6. Hey guys! Here's the latest one off the bench - Eduard's recent Spitfire VIII. This was my first time building one of Eduard's lovely Spitfires and now I see what all of the fuss was about! I'll certainly be building more in the future. Thanks for looking! - Brassin cockpit - Brassin wheels - Ultracast 1-pc cowl - Ultracast exhaust - Ultracast spinner/prop - Quickboost cockpit door - Master gun barrels - BarracudaCals decals
  7. Looks great, Aaron! The pics don't do it justice, it's a fantastic build
  8. Thanks everyone! Grab the current issue of Tamiya Model Magazine and read all about it
  9. Wow! The paintwork is fantastic! Beautiful model, always love the Greek birds
  10. Excellent build! I'm glad to see you eliminated the panel line on the upper cowl that's present on the Eduard kits due to the parts breakdown, most people miss that detail
  11. Thanks guys! As for the photography, thanks for the compliments jbpruitt. My setup is about as simple as it gets, about $40 US invested:
  12. Amazing as always, Artur! Every time you build something unusual it makes me want to go out and get one, too. I would never have thought of building a Spartan but now I want one in the stash! haha
  13. Finished pics posted in RFI: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234978930-148-hobbyboss-ta-152c-11-what-if-jg-1/
  14. So my Ta152 whiffer is done. The C-11 variant was proposed but never built, so no matter what markings I chose they would have been speculative - I decided to have some fun with it. Scheme is based on the Bf109G-6AS birds of JG 1. I also made a lot of corrections and alterations along the way. 15. I did lightly rescribe the panel lines just to ensure they were crisp and uniform in width and depth. As with the rivets, they look white in the pic because they are full of sanding dust
  16. Ok one last progress shot. Tried out Uschi van der Rosten's elastic rigging line in the "Fine" size for the aerial antenna. I'd say it worked well And one bonus shot tonight of the finished build. More to be posted in Ready For Inspection
  17. Ok, she's officially finished I'll get some pics done and posted soon
  18. The home stretch and the last WIP picture. Just need to add the pitot, morane, other antennae, and aerial wire, and she'll be done and Ready for Inspection
  19. Thanks for the tip, Anders! I was reluctant to try thinning with anything but AK's thinners because I assumed the paint was a similar formula to Vallejo, but I did notice the smell of isopropyl in AK's thinner last night so I'm thinking it's completely different stuff. I'll have to give the Tamiya thinner a shot. BTW, huge fan of your profile page - I check it often to see what new stuff you post
  20. Some exhaust staining and additional general grime should be a good way to end the day's work
