  1. Spot on James and here's hoping it works out as planned! Cheers, Dermot
  2. Thanks everyone and some paint on - just Tamiya Flat White over the black base. Revell_YT_1300_Freighter_build_2 by Dermot Moriarty, on Flickr Revell_YT_1300_Freighter_build_3 by Dermot Moriarty, on Flickr Then some masking for the freight colour - you'll probably guess where this build is going! Revell_YT_1300_Freighter_build_4 by Dermot Moriarty, on Flickr Revell_YT_1300_Freighter_build_5 by Dermot Moriarty, on Flickr Revell_YT_1300_Freighter_build_6 by Dermot Moriarty, on Flickr Some areas to touch up but happy how it's looking. Cheers, Dermot
  3. Thanks and that's exactly the set-up I'm going for! On the behind the scenes documentary, Lorne Petersen from ILM explained the Falcon was originally planned to fly side-on like a Sunfish with the cockpit rotating as it went vertical. But they dropped that idea fairly quickly.
  4. So finally some progress. Everything primed in black as she's getting a new paint job. Revell_YT_1300_Freighter_build_1 by Dermot Moriarty, on Flickr And got back a test 3D print for the freight module - this is based on the freight cars from the heist scene in Solo, A Star Wars Story and resized to fit this model. Revell_YT_1300_Freighter_build_2 by Dermot Moriarty, on Flickr Good fit, happy with that so 4 more on the way! Revell_YT_1300_Freighter_build_3 by Dermot Moriarty, on Flickr Cheers, Dermot
  5. So unfortunately time has got the better of me and I won't be finished in time. I've opened a new thread here if you're interested. Entropy_Italeri_F4J_UK_20 by Dermot Moriarty, on Flickr Canopy parts added, making a start on the decals. A lot of weathering still to do and to make a base for it. Entropy_Italeri_F4J_UK_21 by Dermot Moriarty, on Flickr Thanks to @Bertie McBoatface and @JeroenS for hosting what's been a great GB with excellent builds. Until the next time, take care and happy modelling. Dermot
  6. Hi all, Just moving this build over here as it wasn't getting done in time for the 'Entropy' GB on the forum. Current state....and its inspiration. Entropy_Italeri_F4J_UK_20 by Dermot Moriarty, on Flickr Cheers, Dermot
  7. Very cool Phantom Count me in pls! PM Focke Wulf Ta-183_done10 by dermot.moriarty, on Flickr
  8. So have been working away at this one - haven't posted in a while (I blame the Rugby World Cup and our own IPMS Ireland National show) 😎 Joined the fuselage and wings. Then a pre-shade with some Dark Grey Next was an undercoat with XF-4 Yellow Green to represent the primer Followed by a light coat of thinned Gull Grey to tone back the primer and add some weathering. And then two light coats of XF-19 - the first was to represent the top colour while the second had some white added to lighten it and then sprayed through a stencil to blend everything together. The photos and lighting tend to wash it out but I'm happy how it looks. Coat of Klear next and then on to decals. Thanks for looking! Cheers, Dermot
  9. Gotta love an Agressor scheme 😎 I think it looks great, well done
  10. Thanks! Reading their restoration blog and looking at photos they've posted, it looks like the seats were left in. But I imagine they were decommissioned with the rockets/explosives/chutes etc removed. There's still some foam visible on one of the seats but that's beyond me in this scale!
  11. Nice wash mix and gonna give that a go. What do you use to clean it up?
  12. So a bit more done over the weekend. Cockpit base-coated in black while interior got some Yellow Green. Entropy_Italeri_F4J_UK_8 by Dermot Moriarty, on Flickr The intakes were added to each side and were a very nice fit. Entropy_Italeri_F4J_UK_9 by Dermot Moriarty, on Flickr Before joining to the wings, I'll add a photo of an engine front to this blank bulkhead. The red dot is a mark to remind me where to glue in a fuselage spacer. Entropy_Italeri_F4J_UK_10 by Dermot Moriarty, on Flickr Glued together with fuselage spacer. Again, quite a nice fit down the spine. The cockpit got some salt weathering and then a coat of Ocean Grey all over. Entropy_Italeri_F4J_UK_11 by Dermot Moriarty, on Flickr Entropy_Italeri_F4J_UK_12 by Dermot Moriarty, on Flickr And then the cockpit section which attaches from underneath. The dead foliage is basically dried herbs (Italian I think!) as it was what I had to hand. A little bit overscale but will know for the future. The nose is a butt-join to the fuselage and will need some fixing here and there. 13. Right so - cockpit time! Because I took the original cockpit floor, seats, and consoles from this kit, it was out with the plasticard. I've used the very basic cockpit floor from the Frog F-4K as a base. while the seats are from spares and bodged into something resembling a MB Mk7. The empty consoles are plasticard cut to match the kit parts, enlarged from the parts map on the decal instructions. On it's own, it doesn't look great. Entropy_Italeri_F4J_UK_5 by Dermot Moriarty, on Flickr But in the fuselage, it will be grand - it is abandoned after all! 14. So a little bit done on this one. Cut out the speedbrakes from under the wings using RB micro saws. Entropy_Italeri_F4J_UK_3 by Dermot Moriarty, on Flickr Then cut out and dropped the trailing edge flaps. I've also tried to reprofile the leading edge slats. Entropy_Italeri_F4J_UK_4 by Dermot Moriarty, on Flickr Scratchbuilding a cockpit will be next! Cheers, Dermot
  15. I think it looks terrific and the paint job is excellent. Fair play for sticking with it.
  16. Hi all and here's what's in the box. Revell_YT_1300_Freighter_parts_1 by Dermot Moriarty, on Flickr Revell_YT_1300_Freighter_parts_2 by Dermot Moriarty, on Flickr Nice to have a little cockpit in there. Revell_YT_1300_Freighter_parts_3 by Dermot Moriarty, on Flickr Cheers, Dermot
  17. Hi all, I'm not normally an AFV builder but try to build at least one a year as a break from cockpits and wing stuff. This is my braille scale Leopard for the STGB here. The short build thread is here but to recap: Kit: Revell 03199 Strv 122A/B Build: OOB Decals: From the kit for Swedish Norrbotten Regiment I19, Exercise 'Cold Response 2006' Paints: Mr Hobby, Tamiya Acrylics with an airbrush Klear, Oil wash and pastels. W&N Matt Varnish Extras: None! The plastic tracks were a bit of a faff. Thanks for looking and happy modelling! 18. Hi and here's mine, Revell's Strv 122A in 1/72. 19. Decals on, a little more weathering and she's done! Very happy how this one turned out although the plastic tracks were a bit of a faff. 20. Right so, time to get going with this! I took the seats, cockpit and canopy from this kit when I built a Frog F-4K so will be perfect for the GB - just a bit of bodging needed to remove the leading edge slats and make up some kind of replacement cockpit. I have decals from an Esci F-4 and aftermarket for the codes. Entropy_F4J_UK_1 by dermot.moriarty, on Flickr Entropy_F4J_UK_2 by dermot.moriarty, on Flickr The base will be a wild grass mat from Gabor in GModel Miniatures. Cheers, Dermot
