  1. I'm afraid I don't know enough about Soviet Hurricanes (yet!) to be able to help here. Regards, Jason
  2. So, you really liked 'Development of the New British Post-War Maritime Reconnaissance Aircraft'? I have to admit, that chapter rocked! Poor ed-209, the OP is probably thinking, 'All I did was ask about some good books on the Shackleton.'. Sorry, ed, you didn't realise you were releasing the Kraken! Best Regards, Jason
  3. So, the David Hasselhoff album is the aural equivalent of my magnum opus. I'm satisfied with that. Best Regards, Jason
  4. Oh, b****r! I forgot all about him. He loved the book! 'A triumph of the human spirit!', is I believe how he described it. Best Regards, Jason
  5. Always love a Shack! Nice work on her. Regards, Jason
  6. An excellent job on a very obscure type! Regards, Jason
  7. You forgot Jason Nicholas M. It comes highly regarded from him. Best Regards, Jason P.S. Thank you very much for the pre-order! I do hope you enjoy it!
  8. There are high-quality, colour profiles in my book. Some are just profiles, whilst there is a three-view for each main variant - MR.1, MR.2, MR.3, and AEW.2. You'll be glad to know that the three-view of the MR.3 is of a MR.3 Phase III. Regarding the Crowood book, that is a very nice book if memory serves me right. Of course, there is an excellent bibliography of books on the Shackleton at the end of my book. Best Regards, Jason
  9. Perish the thought! This is a book of the finest calibre, written with the utmost attention to detail and accuracy (as with all my books, it comes with the '95 percent accurate' guarantee). In all honesty, I did put quite a bit of effort into the book, as the Shackleton has always been a favourite aeroplane of mine, and I did keep the modeller in mind whilst putting it together. Thank you very much for your order, and I do hope that you find it to be of some use! Best Regards, Jason
  10. As far as I know it is. I notice that Amazon (UK and USA) now have it on their website, a hopeful sign. Warning: Shameless Self-Promotion Follows! One good thing about my book, from the modellers' viewpoint, is that I give an overview of the Shackleton models that are now available, including my subjective opinions on them (I have built the Revell MR.3 and Airfix MR.2, and have nearly built the Revell AEW.2). I also have some rather nice colour profiles. All in all, a rather smashing book, sure to become a cherished classic! I'm hoping they'll make a musical of it.* Best Regards, Jason *Don't worry. I may not be very serious on this site, but I am very serious when I write my books.
  11. Excellent work on that Mustang! I must say she looks good in the green! Regards, Jason
  12. I've seen the Shackleton book by Jason Nicholas Moore, and I have to say it's a pretty nice book. It should be available shortly. Best Regards, Jason Nicholas Moore
  13. Excellent job on the Thunderstreak! There's a kit I intend on picking up. Regards, Jason
  14. Brilliant work! I have both the AMtech version and the Hasegawa version. Maybe between the two, I might get one painted properly. Regards, Jason
  15. Best of luck with the build! I have this very kit, so it will be interesting to see how you get on with it. My bird will be done in Suez markings, also. Regards, Jason
  16. Excellent job on the 'Kobra'! To me, the Airacrobra always looks a little strange in American markings as opposed to Soviet markings. I need to get this kit (and of course build it with Soviet markings). Regards, Jason
  17. I wish I were, but unfortunately, I have an 89-year-old mother to look after. Otherwise, I would definitely be there, with my credit cards at the ready! I'll let you know if things change. Best Regards, Jason
  18. Beautiful job on that Heyford! Matchbox had their 'A-Team' doing this kit, as they seemed to for most of their biplanes. When I built my kit (at university!), I dealt with the rigging very easily - I ignored it. Best Regards, Jason
  19. From the hundreds of Shackleton photographs I'd examined as part of the research for my book, the bomb bays were very often open on the ground, whilst the flaps were always up (on service examples, with perhaps a very few exceptions that escaped my gaze). The only time you see the flaps down on the ground is with preserved examples. Great work on the interior! Regards, Jason
  20. Walk, I'd like to think I ran carefree into that one, singing a happy (if a bit ribald) tune as I did so! General, I am sorry to hear that I still have that effect on old Halfront, but then our sessions were fraught with endless vituperation and arguments, and that was just us saying hello to each other. Best, Jason (doing much better now that the medications have taken effect)
  21. General, please give my regards to Gag Halfront. He used to be my private brain care specialist, until he resigned in frustration and disgust and took up the same position with Zaphod Beeblebrox, whom he claimed would be a much easier patient to work with. Best, Jason
  22. I was thinking the same thing. Who is that human behind the display, with not a slimy green tentacle to be found. Why the whole display is shockingly human and professional. Not to be allowed! Regards, Jason P.S. Very nice job on the display!
  23. Well Mike beat me to the Yoda-isms but I'll still give them a try. Brilliant job you have done! Proud you should be! Regards, Jason
