  1. Ah, yes, American supermarkets, which are now the size of small countries. There is a supermarket near where I live that I regularly order from online, and they even deliver (What an age we live in!). I refuse to go to the actual brick-and-mortar store as it's approximately the size of Belgium, and I become hopelessly lost about aisle 378. Regards, Jason
  2. Oh well, we've all stapled Baldrick to something or another by this point. Not to worry, Pete old fellow. But I say old durian, I do envy all the flightly goings-on over MT! The best I can manage here at Pig Haven (as christened by my parents decades ago) is a few T-38s from time to time. I did hear a Robinson R-22 come putt-putting over a few days ago. You could almost hear the spring unwinding in its clockwork mechanism. Best Regards, Jason
  3. Probably because nobody seems to be able to agree on what was painted interior green or black, and when. Regards, Jason
  4. Nice. One to buy. I'll keep my Hobby Boss kit as there are plenty of MiG-3 schemes. Regards, Jason
  5. Brilliant job on the Buc! Regards, Jason
  6. Or perhaps you didn't you see it because you had brought Mary Jane? Best Regards, Jason
  7. Excellent job on the Meatbox, Steve! I like the colour scheme. Anything with PRU Blue can't be bad. Best Regards, Jason
  8. I've said it before (probably at least once before on this thread), I'll say it again. We, meaning I, need a Lincoln B.2 in 1/72nd scale IM plastic. Best Regards, Jason
  9. You're probably right, bjohn5, but my feeling regarding Soviet subjects is always, the more the merrier! Best Regards, Jason
  10. That's a beauty, for sure! Excellent collection! I believe my favourites are the Comet and the Neptune. I actually have plans to do those in 1/72nd scale. I have the kits and the decals for them. Regards, Jason
  11. Excellent job on the Boston! I've always liked the look of the A-20. I suppose that's why I have two kits in 1/72nd scale (and I'm looking at more) and one kit in 1/32nd scale (the very nice HKM A-20G). And yes, I did use to have one in 1/48th scale, the kit Italeri based this kit upon, the AMT kit. Regards, Jason
  12. Nice to see you posting again, your Martianness! I hadn't checked this thread in a while* and was sorry to hear about your problems. I'm certain you'll get everything sorted out! Best Regards, Jason *Yes, I'll go stand in a corner for a bit for not checking in on this thread. My excuse is that I've been working on my writing and my books. Do you believe that? Neither do I.
  13. Yes, there are indeed times when things are more humorous than others. I remember getting on a bus in Houston, Texas on a Friday afternoon after work. Someone had placed fake dog poop on the floor. It got me at first, then I realised it was a joke and had a good laugh along with everyone else. This was Friday afternoon, and everyone was done for the week and looking forward to the weekend and in a good mood. This joke would not have worked on a Monday morning. Best Regards, Jason
  14. But a good-looking also-ran! I did write a bit about the Tu-14 in my upcoming book on the Tu-16 (which I'm still working on). Believe it or not, the Bosun was in the direct line of evolution which led from the Tu-2 to the Tu-16 Badger. That little bit of information doesn't help you with the interior, however. When it comes to the interior colour on Soviet aircraft, and I don't know the colour for certain, I usually opt for a neutral grey. The Tu-14 was a little early (it was out of service in the Soviet Union before 1960) for the various blues and greens that graced the interiors of later Soviet aircraft. That's my tuppence, for what it's worth (oh, that's right, it's worth two pence). Best Regards, Jason
  15. I knew something was missing! Not enough No. 38 Squadron Shackletons! Oh well, I'll fix that it in the next edition. It'll be nothing but No. 38 Squadron Shackletons! Best Regards, Jason
  16. Brilliant job on the MiG-3, and the Chaika also! Regards, Jason
  17. Excellent news, and an excellent source if I ever redo my Il-2 book! Best Regards, Jason
  18. Yes, very much so! I actually wrote a book about them called 'Soviet Strategic Bombers: The Hammer in the Hammer and the Sickle' about the big postwar bombers, starting with the Tu-4. I do have quite a collection of unbuilt kits, especially in 1/72nd scale. I didn't know Zvezda were coming out with a Tu-95. I do wish someone would come out with an early model Tu-95 in all-plastic in 1/72nd scale. That would be sort of a 'dream' kit for me. Best Regards, Jason
  19. Privyet! Hello and welcome to the site! I have an interest in Soviet aircraft, especially of the Great Patriotic War, but I also like post-war aircraft (I'm finishing up a book on the Tu-16 Badger, for example). Always good to have someone who also likes Soviet/Russian aircraft on the site. Best Regards, Jason
  20. I'd love a 1/32nd scale Marauder, but I'll wait a bit to see if HKM do one. It seems a natural after the B-25 and the A-20. And if it's done to the level of their A-20 I will definitely buy it. I do still want to buy the HPH 1/48th scale B-36, but I keep hoping they'll upscale it to 1/32nd scale... Regards, Jason
  21. Excellent! Enjoy! Best Regards, Jason
  22. Amazon UK have it in stock. Did you try ordering it from amazon.de? Is it still on pre-order? I notice that Amazon USA have the release date as 7 April 2024 and only available for pre-order. Curiouser and curiouser... Best Regards, Jason
  23. Well, I've received my copies of the book. I have to say it looks quite nice. It appears that this chap seems to know what he's talking about. Best Regards, Jason
  24. Excellent! Enjoy! Do you realise that you are holding a book even I haven't seen yet in published form? I'm gratified to hear it looks great! I look forward to receiving my copies. Best Regards, Jason
  25. Cyprus, at the airport at Paphos. Best Regards, Jason
