  1. First build for over 30 years. Trying to fit building around work, grandchildren and life. Made the soundproofing out of speedtape, whilst sticky it is hard to get the pattern onto. If I build another, I'll sort the cabin seat backs out properly. The RAF ones did not have a mesh back. I think I may have got the ammo box for the flares a bit big, as are the fire extinguishers, but it's been years since I've done this sort of thing. Was going to try to include the Very pistol, but it would be impossible to see (as I found out when i did a trial fit of the fuselage halves!) The Airwaves Mk5 parts are good, but I'm not looking forward to fitting the intake and IGB grills. Also still got to fit the crewmans seat to the right of the cabin door. Really have forgotten how fiddly 1/72 is!! [/font]
  2. Finally got something to show, trying to fit building around work, grandchildren and life. Made the soundproofing out of speedtape, whilst sticky it is hard to get the pattern onto. I think I may have got the ammo box for the flares a bit big, as are the fire extinguishers, but it's been years since I've done this sort of thing. Has anyone got any advice on making a very pistol and holder for the other side of the cabin rear? The Airwaves Mk5 parts are good, but I'm not looking forward to fitting the intake and IGB grills. 3. Where can I get some Black capital B's, D's or J's in 1/72 scale of a 28 sqn Wessex (36" on the actual a/c) and smaller letters and numbers for tail numbers. Cheers Returning modeller
  4. I've seen that a couple of people have got round it by using the nose of the Mk5 with the fuselage of a UH34, I've got both the italeri kits and have made a start, this is how Sniper did it with the 72 Sqn HC2, I'm building a 28 Sqn one.
  5. Just returning to model making after a 30+ year gap. I'm going to make a 28 Sqn HC2 and have a Mk5 and U34 kit to match together. I know this thread is old, but if you have any advice I'd be grateful. I've searched and found lots of photos and have a few of my own, from my 6 years on Walters, so I hope I can do it justice. I've never seen a model of the 28 Sqn HC2 in the late 80's white stripe colours, so it could be a first. Wish me luck. Steve
