  1. Hi Russ, I am with Andy on this. Very well done. Where did you happen to find that ocean backdrop? Rod
  2. Received the masks I needed for the stars except for two. I should have those in a few days. I think this will be my last WIP pictures. Next will be the RFI's hopefully in the next week or two.
  3. Very cool Russ and really nice scale effect. Thanks for sharing. Rod
  4. Phillip, Thanks and yes. This will be the ride of WO Harry Corl and ARM3 Lloyd Childers of VT-3 off the Yorktown. Hopefully I can get the masks in the next few days. As of now I am at a stopping point. Rod
  5. Hello Robin, That's my attempt. Thank you for your interest. Rod
  6. Phillip, I have built at least 10 Trumpeter kit, I would say this is my favorite with the SBD-3. I am thinking about getting the float version also. Not that many parts for a 1/32. Roll Tide Rod
  7. I have made some progress! Plane is painted, now waiting on the Hawaiian Air Depot Masks. My buddy is going to have to make them for me since I do not have the equipment. Paint used was ModelMaster Blue Grey and AK Real colors for the bottom.
  8. Hello George, The interior pics in this thread is the TBD-1. What I was trying say was, I hurried the Val a little to much to get to the Devastator. If you are interested I did start a WIP thread on this site. Take your time the stressed skin. Thank you for your comment. Rod
  9. I too like the looks for this aircraft. Thanks for sharing. Rod
  10. Hello all, This is my first WIP post. I am not much for typing so this will be more pics then text. I started this a couple of weeks ago and so far one of the best Trumpeter kits I have built. Paints are AK Real colors. I have added the Airscale photo etch, wheels, 30.cal, prop and ANYZ knobs. I have also done some minor scratch building. Getting close to paint. More pics soon. Rod
  11. Best build I have seen of this aircraft. Thanks for sharing. Rod
  12. Thank you very much, glad enjoyed the pics. Rod
  13. Andy, Thank you for your comment. If you look above this post I put in on how I do stress skin. Weathering was done with multiple layers of water colors. It is time consuming. In truth I am not all that happy with how this one came out. I think I got a little preoccupied with the build I am working on now (1/32 TBD). Here are a couple of pics of the WIP. Hope this finds you well. Rod
  14. Thank you for your comment. I use a #10 blade to scrape were I want the effect. Then smooth out with wet /dry sand paper. Hope this helps. Rod
