  1. Hey maybe they will do both scales-Heck if it sells Airfix will make it They know a winning bet! Love the lightning BTW and looking forward to the next version!! Now how about new tools in 1/72 of these: -DH Vampire -DH Venom (Sea venom too-know they will get it right not like the Cybercrap kit) -SB2 Buccaneer -FG.1 (RN) & FGR.2 Phantom (even though the Fujimi kits are still nice-But I am greedy) -Sea Vixen -Scimitar
  2. I will when I am in the UK again. I want to visit Yeovilton too to see the FAA aircraft--Sea Vixen! Steve,
  3. Is this a new tool or a re-massaging of the Italeri kit?? I wonder? Steve
  4. This one looks be a nice kit. I will have to get this one. How is everyone else feeling about this upcoming release? Hope they do some more 1/72 new tool Early jet RAF/RN subjects: -S2B Buccaneer -affordable accurate Wyvern?? -Swift stablemate: Scimitar(1/48 would be nice too) -Venom family (something accurate finally would be nice-not the CH abomination) -Vampire (single seaters) -DH Sea Hornet I am sure you guys can add some!! Steve
  5. Lets hope Airfix does a proper Scimitar in 1/48 or even 1/72!! Steve
  6. Great info. Guys. I dug out some Aeroclub seats (MB 4's earlier seat than 4B). They will work nicely and I always loved John Adams stuff!. Besides the extra weight will be needed in the nose. I thnk I may just scratch up some extra details in the wheels and build it from the box I is a nice Kit! Steve
  7. At the very least canopy masks would be nice -They can be done quickly and I know the Pavla seat would work And I have some older Aeroclub Mk. 4 seats I will be using. You are right I will just build it with what I have...Just cant resist adding stuff to kits! Steve,
  8. Let me know if you need a 1/72 Hasegawa RF-101. My Local shop had one (RF-101C Older boxing-SIlver Polka Dot markings) last week and it was only $15.00 US. That is like 10 Pounds for you guys. IF you want it I can pick it up for you. Steve,
  9. Just detail stuff. IT is a very nice kit. Seatbelts... a resin seat stuff like that. Steve,
  10. Just curious the kit has been out for a few months and they aren't any resin sets or etched brass sets or canopy masks?? I would think Eduard would have done one by now? It would be nice to have a Zoom color set to dress up the cockpit?? Just curious. I picked up my Lightning @ the LHS this week in the good ol USA . I figured if I waited for the American release there would be some aftermarkets by now?? Steve
  11. There are a few other details that may cause issue. First of all the keel is different on the F-101A/C from the F-1010B. This is markedly one of the biggest differences beside the nose and `1 to` 2 seat configuration. Your best bet is to convert the Hasegawa kit RF-101A/C with the Airwaves resin nose conversion. The later Vietnam boxing is a little nicer since the cockpit pit parts are more substantial to build on to. Also I suggest you get the Airwaves or if you can find the ancient Eduard detail set for the Hasegawa kit to gussy up the cockpit. The True Details resin seat go a long way to dress up the cockpit too. I believe Almark makes some decals for the F-1010A/C. The old SuperScale or MicroScale decals maybe long in the tooth depends on how they were stored. I have had a set explode on contact with water and they looked perfectly fine-You never know?? You do know that Kittyhawk is coming out with a new tool F-101A/C in 1/48. I cant wait for that kit! Steve,
  12. This was just a test to see if changing browsers would work. It seems I can post on Google Chrome but NOT IE. Hence the title "Sea Vixen test" Steve
  13. The AML kit is NOT as nicely molded as the PJ/High Planes kit. Also it has some issues with the fit of the resin. Panel lines are a little too faint too. Also it is OOP so would not be easy to obtain? This may help: http://www.ipmsusa3.org/reviews/Kits/Aircraft/aml_72_mirage_3cj/aml_72_mirage_3cj.htm
  14. I was going to show some Sea Vixen building here if that is ok? I switched browsers and its seems to work better. I am Connecticut (actually MAssachusetts) Yankee in King Arthurs Modeling Court. More will follow as I complete it Steve ...Also have a few shots of a commission build I did. It is a the cockpit of a 1/32 F9F-8 Cougar
  15. Not really blaming you but just frustrated. will sue another browser. Looks Like IE is the culprit Sea Vixen is Cold War Right? Steve
  16. Absolutely Love the F-101 Voodoo...Finest looking airframe to me...Your Hunter comes in a close second!. Cant wait fro this one will build at least two of these Steve
  17. So sad that the world is all about Yield. Quantity over quality. I see it everywhere. What happened to substance...The old days of Bill Koster getting things right albeit in 30 year technology and raised panel lines but the kits were molded in shiny fine plastic. Look at the molding differences between the old Monogram F-84F vs. new Kinetic F-84F ...Not even talking about accuracy but the pebbly texture of the plastic and the quality of the moldings?? The New Italeri kit reminds me of a Kinetic kit. Why cant they get better texture and quality moldings like Hasegawa, Tamiya, Revell, Rev-Monogram F-15E 1/48 beauty of a kit! etc... And Yes Italeri did screw the pooch with the kit. How much better is it than the old Hasegawa 1/32 F-104G/S?? What if the Hasegawa kit was engraved then what?? I don't mean to whine just wouldn't buy it. The truemtper F-=100 was a decent attempt and since it had never been done in1/32 IT was OK the mistakes (intake rounded etc..) were forgivable in my book. Steve,
  18. Don't worry about it I am not going to bother This is frustrating!!!! BTW- I wanted to post a photo in the Cold War section about the Cold War both a Sea Vixen model and a Viggen (real aircraft) . So please don't tell me where I should be posting if you are NOT a moderator. I read all the FAQ materials and I am very familiar with posting photos and the format. So it seems either there is a compatibility issue or I am being blocked from posting photos? Steve
  19. I can post on both ARC and HS BUT I am having trouble posting photos on this Forum??? When I click on image (a box with image properties ) opens up and I can paste the info. from Photobucket in it. BUT when I click it---it freezes and will not post in the text of the post?? I need to back out for it to stop??? Furthermore it will not let me paste the URL direct link in the text box???? Am I being blocked? Can someone help out. I would like to post some construction photos of my 1/48 Sea Vixen?? Steve,

  21. I followed those instructions from before. It hangs up on Image box insertion. Since I can post on both ARC and HS I think it must have to do with a setting with Britmodeller website?? Steve,
  22. Thank you. You guys saved me $25.00 US dollars on exhausts. I guess I will just use my True Details seats for the kit. BTW- Just finishing off a 1/48 Airfix Sea Vixen I hope to post some photos--BUT I am having trouble posting photos?? Steve,
  23. I believe it is the best of the Fujimi Phantoms but is it on par with the Hasegawa 1/72 Phantoms? It is funny that Hasegawa never scaled down here 1/48 FG.1?? How are the exhaust-Thinking of getting the Aires replacement worth it? I plant to replace the seat with the True Details seat not entirely accurate but better than the kit seats. Any glaring errors in the airframe? Thanks again Steve
