  1. Check out Engines and Things Here or you could email Kopher Resins: dkopher - at - @yahoo.com These are from my DC-6 project to give you an example Cheers Tony
  2. Malcolm advises that these decals have been re-printed in the three main scales. Cover four aircraft: NZ2504, 2509, 2518 & 2523. These make for a nice finish. V3278 V4894 V7284 Image Copyright: Ventura Publications Cheers Tony
  3. Received an email from Malcolm advising these have been reprinted and are back in stock. The sheet includes a temporary airshow number with new photo from the collection of Brendon Deere. Ventura V3271 Image Copyright: Ventura Publications Cheers Tony
  4. That is one nice model and finished in the scheme I will be attempting. There is a fantastic picture of the demise of NF700 after Lt Al Burgham RNZNVR broke her back when landing short on Narina. I'll try and find the book.
  5. Yep ........ Already have the kit in the stash
  6. As promised, here are the pics of my kit and the resin engines. The will be a long-term WiP as I (We including son, Blair) will not be attempting conversion until we feel competent enough. The original Heller kit I believe - Heller 315 Here are the Kopher resin engines. I scored the last set at a nicely reduced price... Kopher Resins are available from Dana Kopher in the USA. dkopher - at - @yahoo.com
  7. Here is my Beaufighter, made by my son, Blair for my Christmas / Birthday. The kit is the Hasegawa 00128 and the torpedo came from our Valom Hampden TB.1 kit. Decals are from the Model Alliance 72-198 Coastal Command set - which also has decals for a 489 Sqn Hampden TB.I Note how there are a choice of two colours for the Beaufighter codes. We chose the sky finish after researching various sites especially this one: Beaufighter TF-X with Mustang III escort Hope you like it. Cheers Tony
  8. Resin engines arrived today. I'll put up some pics in the near future.
  9. Sorry - bit late but here goes: No information on Singapore Schemes in Warren P Russell's book The following information comes from The Golden Age of NZ Flying Boats by Paul Harrison: Notes plus an ExtraColour Cross Reference Chart Short Singapore III "When these flying boats were taken over at Seletar, they were painted in standard RAF Coastal Command scheme of the period: upper wing surfaces, hull and floats Dark Sea Grey and Extra Dark Slate Grey. The undersurfaces were painted Sky Blue. The roundels were Type B upper mainplane, Type A under the lower wings and Type A1 on the fuselage. RAF standard fin flash were carried on the outer surfaces of the outboard fins (see Robertson 1966). Standard serial numbers in eight inch black were painted high on the rear fuselage under the tailplane. The squadron codes ‘OT’ were issued after arrival in Fiji. This and individual letters were painted in Sky Grey. Individual letters allocated to the aircraft were K6912:A, K6917:B, K6918:C." ExtraColour Cross-reference Chart for Singapore III Upper Surfaces: X 25 Dark Slate Grey, X5 Extra Dark Slate Grey Fuselage: X 25 Dark Slate Grey, X5 Extra Dark Slate Grey Lower Surfaces: X7 Sky Blue Roundels / Fin Flash: X11 Identification Yellow, X30 Roundel Blue, White, X31 Post Office Red Serial: X 12 Black Codes: Sky Grey Hope this helps Tony
  10. Hey Alan, I have both books at home so will check them out. My reply will have to wait until Sunday (next day at work) as my home interweb is down at the moment.
  11. This from Adelaide Archivist Photostream Great picture of the Mechanics Bay mooring facilities: The photo shows TEAL's two S.30's plus two of the four Mk.III Sunderland Transports that were operated by the RNZAF's Flying Boat Transport Flight. The time frame would be December 1944 - very early 1945 as the Sunderlands are still carrying the RAF Type C1 Roundels, not the RNZAF Pacific Roundel and Bars. I have included this one as it shows to perfection the problems of sunlight on aircraft. At first glance you be mistaken for thinking that the TEAL 'boats were natural metal / silver with white upper decking, just like airliners of the 1950's. Here ZK-AMA is natural metal for sure while below she appears to have a painted hue. A tricky subject indeed. The above two photos courtesy of Kiwithrottlejocky on this Wings Over New Zealand thread: Here
  12. Best reference I could find is this DH.51. One could assume (yeah I know) that the float design did not change that much. From Amphalon's Photostream. A real treasure trove!!!!! Cheers Tony
  13. Other pics that may help: Tiger Moth 1960 VH-AIF Australian Aviation Museum
