Evening all, Does anyone know the release date of the above? I've heard it will be this year, but that's it, no official release date it seems? Anyone else got an idea of a release date, and also how much it will cost? Warmest Regards, Tom

Two Panavia Tornado GR4's of the Role Demo on their way to Southport!

May I remind all that the story has not yet broken regarding the apparent fatalities. I know the search is now a recovery mission, and the condition of the crew in hospital is not known, so although outlook is bleak please refrain from putting RIP at this current moment. Only if it is confirmed there were fatalities should you put RIP.

Why thank you mate, means a lot.

Cheers guys. Won't be much updates to this, got a few I can't tell you all about yet to do first.....

Yes it is mate, with Revell Aluminium 99

Afteroon all, After the success of my Revell Junkers Ju-290A7, I am back with another WWII 4 engined aircraft, this time, the mighty Avro Lancaster B.I/III from Revell. I have built a few of them over time, 3 Airfix and one of these, but I have to say this kit is my favourite. In addition, I am using Eduard's Big Ed set for the Revell Lancaster, consisting of; * Self Adhesive Interior * Exterior * Bomb Bay * Landing Flaps * Seatbelts * Paint Mask - I find these masks a nice helpful piece of kit, and I highly recommend them to those who struggle with masking. A few in progress pictures, nothing much to say really, the interior is rather nicely detailed for anyone wishing to do a standard out of the box kit, but the Eduard set is a nice touch. Done some weathering, perhaps a bit much, but this plane had done over 70 missions at the time of modelling, so I guess it could get a bit worn on the inside. I also added some small pieces of paper, to represent maps and charts, just to further add to the detail. Next up will be to sort out the exterior, bomb bay and landing flaps once I have the fuselage and wings mated up and the seams sorted out, a quick dry fit of the fuselage informing me of the need for some sanding. Really like that, worth the pain from those decals I think!

Cheers all! It seems my WWII German A/C series is about to expand further, in the next 2 weeks I will receive the Revell Blohm Und Voss BV 222, so this project lands me in good stead for it! :L Once again thanks for the lovely comments, and I HIGHLY recommend this kit to moderate or higher skilled modellers, or ambitious newcomers! It's a great kit, and really stands out well in a collection! Expect this one at Telford in November ( Touch Wood! )

Looking fantastic mate, should be a stunner when she is finished!
-
Hi guys, Would anyone know where I can find a paint mask for the above kit, I seem to be getting accumulated crap on whichever search engine I use! Many thanks.
-
Cheers all!

Once again thanks all, your too kind! I'm pleased to say a major magazine said my model was so good, they have accepted me to become a contributor! Hopefully soon some of my builds will be made on here, would like to do a WIP, but it's not allowed as that's for the magazine
-
Get it. It's a wonderful kit and looks brilliant in the collection!
-
Thanks very much guys, appreciated muchly Been told it's magazine quality, so I have taken the plunge and sent the pictures to model airplane international, hopefully if all goes to plan it will get into the magazine. I personally doubt it, but if you don't ask or try, you won't get. Once again, thanks for the comments

Has anybody seen this in their local modelzone? Chester one STILL hasn't got it, getting a bit ridiculous now.
-
Thanks guys, much appreciated Hope my Gripen and Lancaster will be off same, but hopefully better, standard!

Well, 2 and a half months, later, I have finally finished the Junkers 290. The whole build could have gone a little better, as the wash seems to have permeated into 48 hour dried tailplanes but overall I'm happy with how she has turned out. Looks excellent in my collection! Really enjoyed this build, thoroughly recommend the kit to everyone, take your time and have patience and she literally falls into place. Some bits are a little bit tricky, the aerials on the nose for example, but nothing really out of the reach of many modellers on here. Once again, thanks to the many of you who have commented and had helpful tips, been a massive help to me! Here are the pics of her! C+ C welcome, and I may take some more tomorrow, been a dull grey day in Wales today, so night time was the best time to get them! Revell Junkers Ju-290A-7 Finished 3rd December

She is complete, so I have stuck some picvs in RFI Many thanks for the help during the build, much appreciated Till next time, Hwyl Fawr! -
She's looking good, but can I suggest another coat of paint on her, the shading is a bit stark. Also, might be worthwhile to lighten the inside of the panels a bit by adding some drops of white or light grey to the blue and spraying the inside of each panel, doing a zig zag for the wings if you get me? Makes it look a bit used and weathered before decals and a wash is applied. Up to you what you decide mate, that's what I will be doing on my Typhoon in RAF colours soon

May I recommend this for you? http://www.hannants.co.uk/product/EDCX288 Great model to the person who made it, like the pre shade!

AJS37 Viggen "The Show Must Go On"
TomTwin replied to ChocksAway's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Good model, but I have one piece of criticism.... The name of the aircraft is the JA 37 Viggen, the JAS 39 is the Gripen. -
Does anyone have any pics or info on the following aircraft? NH699 VL-R NH700 VL-P NH686 VL-M RB141 VL-L RB160 VL-A RM678 VL-Q RM740 3W-W1 Many thanks in advance.

Italeri 1:48 Gripen Updated 9th December.

Evening all! Another update for you. I have pleased to say that I have finally got the airframe painted up! A few touch ups required, but it will pass. It's not a perfect sanding job, last time I use Revell filler for sure! Like I said though, it will pass, being stuck on this one for so long I will be happy to finish it, but if I can do as good a job as I can in the process, then that's all good. Next up, paint various sub assemblies, then I can get on to the decals, which I'm looking forward to! I'm thinking about applying a black wash on top and below, but making it a faint black as Gripens are normally clean on the upper surfaces. The pics. Canards are only dry fitted to get an idea of what the finished product will look like.
