  1. That Camel represents outstanding work on your part. The superb paintwork and weathering is one thing, the rigging of a 1/72 biplane is another. Michael
  2. Not in my library so I am unable to say, especially as it will be a few weeks before my Valiant Wings (misprint) copy reaches our Australian shores. However, I have been wary of SAM publications after purchasing one of their works on the Lancaster some years ago because of several errors even a non-cognoscenti such as I was able to detect - almost as disturbing as that description in Bird's 'Coastal Dawn' of a 'Blackburn Stuka'. Michael
  3. So that's where it went and well done you. I had my eye on that item - the only one I could locate and then it disappeared! Michael
  4. Should anyone be interested in purchasing an imperfect copy of the original edition, they are in limited quantity, airmail post-free at; https://www.valiant-wings.co.uk/ekmps/shops/valiantwings/imp-airframe--minia ture-no12-4594-p.asp Michael
  5. Thank you Giorgio, I think you put that rather well. The Valiant Wings publication appears to be the one best suited to my needs. Although out of print, they have advised that a revised edition will be available early 2021 and I will purchase that, Michael
  6. I am looking for a definitive guide. Does one exist? Say, for example, the transition from the Spitfire Mk 1a (1/72 Airfix) to the Mk 1b (as in Kovozavody 1/72) and onward through all marques. Which had what aerial, which had Kaufmann bulge over electric, etc Advice most appreciated, preferably in print form but anything will do, Michael
  7. It looks spot on in all respects. The exhausts look particularly realistic. Some very sharp work on the ball turret too - even with the Eduard masks, I find that area to be problematic, Michael
  8. Great work. I have built this kit several times but have not come near to this quality finish. Every time I see this particular Fort, my brain goes back to the sixties Airfix boxing, Michael
  9. Just received these publications from the UK. Each is the best photographic coverage of its respective aircraft I have seen. Each also constitutes a very deep inquiry into the images to glean well informed opinions and conclusions about the particular aircraft concerned. Michael
  10. It looks as beautiful as the real thing. Makes one wish they were 1/72, Michael
  11. Great Work! I must say, that Spitfire steals the scene a bit, Michael
  12. I wonder if Brereton is being evenly dealt with here. Was it not Williams, the commander of IX Troop Carrier Command, who pushed for no more than one lift per day? Brereton acceded to this but did not instigate it. The absence of tactical air cover, the dropping of 1st British Airborne too far from the Arnhem Bridge and the failure to place a force simultaneously at the other side of the bridge seem more central to the failure. Michael
  13. As with the He 111, it looks great, and it's flying! Michael
  14. It looks great and it's flying! Very impressive. Michael
  15. That looks great, absolutely great. I'm going to have to get one of these, Michael
  16. Troy, Thank you again. With the breadth and depth of the information you have provided, it is a pity that it does not get published in some form. Yes, I know it is on this site but you certainly have coalesced it very well. That Hurricane 'Camouflage and Markings' publication jolted my memory. I am pretty sure I had that publication in an omnibus form, 'Camouflage & Markings: RAF FIghter Command Northern Europe 1936 to 1945' by James Goulding. I would have purchased that here in Melbourne in 1971 or 1972 and lost it after innumerable moves. I have however found and purchased a copy of that omnibus version on abe just now. Thank you again for your help, Michael
  17. Troy, Your post is a model of constructive criticism and as such, is extremely helpful to me, I will read this through, thoroughly, Thank you for your help, Michael
