  1. Wow very nice...Very tidy paint job as well!!! I'm standing by for more updates ))
  2. Good start! Looking forward to see the updates
  3. What scheme are you doing? It will be natural metal from EC 02/002 Côte d'Or serial number 209, registration 2-FI, based in Dijon in 1976... I will use Berna Decals sheet BD 48-34
  4. Thanks Homebee, I've been reading the forums since a long time and I have seen a lot of your work already... Always very impressive!!! I went through your Hunter GA11 feature again and again, and this was one of the main reasons I didn't purchase the PJ GA11 set and prefered to go my own way... Can I ask you what material you used to represent to front of the lens? I guess a piece of rhodoid? I'm looking forward to your reply/inputs Best regards, Guillaume PS: I really hope the future PJ T7 conversion will be better than the GA11 !!
  5. Wow!! Great to see all those airliners! I want more!!!
  6. Yes I know about those brands making the Tornado in 1/48... I actually have 5 Italeri kits in my stash, including 3 F-3's with all the Paragon stuff to go with it... What I meant is, if Revell upscales it's 1/72 one, they would have the 'definitive' Tornado... I'm really not that impressed by Hobbyboss's effort Regarding the twoseat Hunter, I'm standing by for the PJ Production set... I heard good things of their 1/72 effort, so it's looking good! Also were there no rumours about Fisher Models downscaling their 1/32 set?? Best regards Guillaume
  7. Is it not possible to start some kind of petition??? And while we are at it, lets do the same for the Tornado... anotherone they released in all scales, except 1/48!
  8. Thanks everybody for the replies! I really appreciate... Glyn: The dials are 'from the box', as Trumpeter provides a photoetch instrument panel Best regards, Guillaume
  9. Hello, Very nice work so far... I'm doing the same conversion at the moment (see Civil Aviation Modeling)... I'm looking forward to see your progress All the best, Guillaume
  10. Hello again, This seems a very popular conversion at the moment...so I will join with my attempt. I plan to finish it of in Etihad colours. I already have the Braz tail and RR engines Enough talk, here are the pictures of my work so far: Defining the zones to be removed First cut Hop! dryfit just after the cut overview of the different parts... this picture was taken before I received the Braz tail.. Then the respective parts were glued together and here is the back: And finaly a family shoot with a hint of what will be next.... That's it for now... Happy modeling and best regards, Guillaume
  11. Very nice!! We need more airliners ) This looks like a very challenging conversion... good luck! Best regards, Guillaume
  12. Thanks a lot Pompeo... For info the Suez markings were all airbrushed Best regards, Guillaume
  13. I kept it quite clean, as in the museum.... Looking at the pictures now, I should have gone for aftermarket roundels as the kit ones appear to have a dark edge.... Maybe next time )
  14. Hello again, Here is one from a while ago... a Hawker Seahawk. Decals were a mix of kit decals and Classic Airframes... Reason for that is I wanted to model number 161, as seen in the Malta Aviation Museum (although the serial number is different)... My next example will be in EDSG/White as flying now for the Royal Navy Historic Flight. But I need more time first!! First the cockpit Here is a size comparison with a Harrier GR7, a Mirage IIIC and an F111E Fast forward.... The finished product...
  15. Hello again, Here is some work I started recently on my Hobbyboss/Heller Mirage IIIB.... It's only in the initial stage at the moment. Anybody else took this route before?? First cut... The dorsal spine has to go and will be replaced by the Heller part.. Dryfit of the whole thing... That's it for now... Best regards, Guillaume
  16. Very interesting comparaison.... I does indeed seem the Hobbyboss fuselage is wider but it will be very difficult to see once the models are painted. What about the Heller kit? I have the Hobbyboss kit in my stash, but I'm converting it into a Mirage IIIB using the Heller parts (I didn't fancy rescribing the whole Heller kit). I heard the Hobbyboss kit is easier to assemble than Eduard... can you confirm? Best regards, Guillaume
  17. Thanks Bill for the very informative post! I will check pictures of the wingtips... What I also found is the top end of the rudder is too 'pointy', but that's a 2 second job to rectify... Any ideas where to find that Aeroclub set? I felt already lucky to find a T7 conversion last year at a model show in Belgium... I have the Heritage small tailpipe (but it is a massive piece, without any depth) and Squadron canopy (I intend to use the Academy windscreen with the Squadron rear part) Best regards, Guillaume
  18. Hi, I found the Aeroclub conversion last year at the IPMS Antwerp meeting... for just 15euro!!!! That made my day I must say... I talked to the PJ Production guy at Telford, and he said his upscaled version should be available in the not too distant future.... I told him he can count me in for 4 or 5 sets at least!
  19. I just checked and indeed, the Academy wheels are too small... Is there anything available in aftermarket??
  20. Very, very nice!!! I have to add this one to the pile as soon as possible...
  21. Thanks for the comments guys... here is a picture of 'the other side' of the display case the 1/32 scale aircraft or from my brother, before I converted him to 1/48 The whole collection is at my parents place in Bruges (Belgium)... So I have to start my new collection from scratch here in Malta... Onwards and upwards!!!
  22. Thanks for the feedback guys... Regarding the cockpit, I have a couple of Aires sets for the single seaters. So that's already sorted. I also have some aftermarket vacuform canopees Regarding the sequence of assemble: That is exactly how I intended to do, as I read from earlier build reports... Other modifications: -shortening the tail 'bullet' -moving the stabilizers forward -for the GA11, I also got a resin 'small diameter' exhaust Anything else I have to look for? Best regards, Guillaume
