Thanks to all again All the weathering was sprayed freehand as well as camouflage colors. I have used paper masks on my first attempt but wasn't happy with the result so resprayed again but freehand. I'm not using pastels at all, only wash for the panel lines and oil colors for fuel stains & dirt.

Thanks to all for your kind comments, really appreciate it .... Now this one was really small but something bigger is on the way already. I'll be starting on Revell's SB2C Helldiver in 1/48 scale very soon. Also purchased a lot of extra stuff like Aires wheel wells, exhausts and Eduard PE flaps, bomb bay equipment plus interior & exterior sets. Everyone is more than welcome to my next in-progress topic, which would appear in next few days here on Britmodeller....Thanks again for your support friends

Hi friends, finally got this little bird finished .... this Academy kit is a real pleasure to build and the only weak point were decals, where color print was shifted so white has been protruding over blue. But I got over it and fixed by mask & spray to match. All panel lines were rescribed to be a bit deeper and also a few rivets added. Hope you'll enjoy the pics... Cheers Ludek

Thank you friends to robw_uk: Yes, that open panel is an Eduard addition from their PE set. They supply the bottom piece and cover. Fits pretty well to the panel lines on kit so it's easy to cut open area.

Painting of camouflage colors finished ..... I had to fix the insignias, where blue color was shifted against white, so masked out and sprayed it to match. I have applied wash mixed of abteilung oil colors and mig thinner. Top coat is a 1/1 mix of GSI flat and semi-gloss. I've also added oil streaks and dirt, mainly on the bottom surfaces. Now need to assemble & paint remaining bits and pieces. Some pics of the progress here...

Decals placed....

Thanks friends ..... I made some progress last evening, sprayed black areas around air intakes and wheel wells. Also painted some details and did some minor corrections. Will apply gloss coating and decals may take their place finally

I wasn't happy with the result after unmasking so sprayed it againg from scratch but this time freehand...I'd say it's better now, but still a lot of work in front of me.
-
Thanks, I hope that today will spare some time to fix it... I have used these GSI C colors C0310 FS30219 Brown (mixed with yellow and tan as it was too dark) C0309 FS34079 Green C0303 FS34102 Green C0311 FS36622 Gray

Thanks Oliver I have unmasked top areas after dark green was sprayed.....I wouldn't say that this is a satisfactory result so the work continues. Especially the color transition between sand and green has to be fixed.
-
Some progress done tonight....I have masked the brown camo fields and sprayed light green. Hopefully tommorow will finish the dark green and wondering what will pop-up after unmasking
-
Cheers lads ..... now, SEA camo phase one. I'll start on cutting paper masks tommorow, and hopefully, all the camo will be finished in 24 hours (at least I hope so)
-
Thanks All you can see here is actually a mix of pre shading and post shading......pre shaded panel lines were almost invisible after few layers of paint. I did preshading just for fun more than really using it. Got used to make all the weathering with post shading, it's just more comfortable for me
-
Undersides painted....will add some oil streaks as well, but this will be done as almost last operation. Now I'm going to spray SEA camo on top using paper masks and tack-it.
-
Some preshading added....camouflage colors one step closer again
-
Thanks for you replies crookedmouth: I haven't checked the front wheel leg closely yet, but I believe there could be a problem with such a weight added to the nose. Will keep an eye open for it....thanks

Hi, some progress on my A-37 after a long time, finally prepared for painting. I have rescribed all panel lines and rivets as they were too shallow to keep wash in place. Also fitted Eduard PE parts which adds some nice detail to the kit....I must say that Academy did a an excelent job on this kit as all part fits together really nice, no filler needed except joints on bottom of wing surfaces, but nothing major. Can't wait to start on painting this beautiful little bird

Hi folks, another of my attempts in 1/72 scale after the Supercobra. I have finished cockpit so far and going to join the fuselage halves together. The kit seems to be pretty straight forward and only thing slowing me down are PE parts which requires a bit of attention for a good fit. Few pictures of finished pit Thanks for looking

Thanks to all for your replies lads Base camouflage fields sprayed over tack-it masking and then finished freehand.

Hi all, something from my workshop again....main reason why I've decided to build this ancient kit was to try some scribing (done for the first time). Whole kit has been re-scribed to have recessed panel lines and inspection covers. There is a lot of mistakes and completed model is far from the real thing, but reality was not the primary aim of this build. Hope you'll enjoy the pics Thanks for looking

P-47D Thunderbolt "Mike" (CBI theatre)

Many thanks to all for their comments, I'm really happy to see so many positive reactions.....thank you Your point is correct, most of P-47's is pictured with DF loop antenna facing forward/backward. But I believe that this DF loop was able to rotate 360(180) degrees to fulfill it's task of finding direction to the emitter. Of course, I could be wrong but there are photos of P-47 with DF loop facing left/right as well..... -

Many thanks to all for kind comments....it's always nice to see positive feedback. Thank you Weathering is done mostly by airbrush, tamiya weathering sets and abteilung oil colors. Hard to describe in a few words, but basically, main tones done with airbrush, dirt on wings and landing flaps by tamiya weathering sets and oil stains by diluted abteilung colors. As I already said in build topic: "Not in the water, but real magic is in Czech beer" Cheers Ludek -

Oh my god! Thal looks just perfect ..... that'e exactly the style of modelling I like and hope I'll be able to do at least half as good kits in the future. Brilliant job P.S. Zaxos345 is right with the ailerons .... it's not real to keep them in this position both down. They should be always one up - one down
