  1. Well, after some time, i managed to go on with the Pfalz. Engine is painted. Engine bearer and cockpit floor another angle Ready to install instrument in place another angle testfit of the fuselage, without engine and cockpit floor i also drilled in some holes for the steering cables Next step is, to glue the fuselage together and add the lower wing. After this is done, i still have to wait for some paints i have in order. Thats all for today. Cheers, Chris
  2. Thanks mates. We will see at the end, but first has the oil paint to dry. Man, that takes ages.... Cheers, Chris @ Jay, did you got my e-mail? Plz contact me.
  3. Thanks David! I have to agree with you, a semi gloss varnish should work best. Thanks, Chris
  4. Thanks a lot mates for all the kind words! I made some more progress the last days, even though my time is very limited at the moment for some personal things... However, here are the pics. I tryed to paint wooden surfaces the first time. What do you think? The basic for the wood was painted with RLM 79 (sandbrown) and lightened up with Zink Cromatic Yellow and white. All was covered with FUTURE to protect the paint. Here is the stuff i used for the wood. I thought i had to use the brush cleaner, but the effect was already ok for me without it. The wood was painted by burned sienna oil paint. Just a question, should i cover the oilpaint with flat varnish after it is dry, or does the oilpaint dry flat in the end? Please let me know what you think. Cheers, Chris
  5. Thanks Bob & Pete! Bob, we´ll see at the end... Well, here is the next update, but not much as you can see. One of the barrels of the MG´s was broken off, so i had to replace them. I used some barrels from a Hasegawa 109 kit from the spare box. Some of the paintwork has started. I set some parts in primer, used was here the Tamiya Surface Primer L from a can. Works very well! That´s it by now. Next i have to get some cockpit parts fit, then the "wooden" fun will start, at least i hope it is fun... Cheers mates, Chris
  6. It is because that are the only two D.III´s.... But i think i´ll loose.... The figure was painted by my good friend Brian Cauchi from Malta. It is an UltraCast (Canada) figure in 1:32 and it is a German fighter pilot who is standing in front of my 109 K4 actually It fits perfectly, i love this figure, but i can´t paint figures, so i asked Brian to do that for me. I´ll soon get some more figures from him... Cheers, Chris
  7. Thanks for your kind words, Lars! The Heinkel was the first of my "better" builds, where i tryed something new for me. Chris
  8. Hi David, great to have some LSP´ers here too. Thanks for the kind words! WW1 subjects are not my first choice, but it is great to make a change from time to time. Thanks for your post! Cheers, Chris
  9. Here is a small update. I fited the engine into the bearer together with the ammo boxes and all into the fuselage. It took some work to get it fit perfectly and some rips had to be overworked, but all in all i´m very pleased with the result. Now it´s not far to the paintwork. To see how small these WW1 birds were, i put a figure next to the plane. Hope you like it and as always, comments are most welcome! Cheers, Chris
  10. Thanks for the info Bob! I just drilled one big hole into the pipe and opend it with a scalpell blade on my model. Looking forward for the next steps. Cheers, Chris
  11. Great work Bob, unfortunately nobody will see the bolts at the end. How did you drilled out the exhaust pipe? Cheers, Chris
  12. Here are the promised pics of the engine. Please let me know what you think. Cheers, Chris
  13. Oh man, forgot to say, your springs and wires looks beautiful!!
  14. Thanks Dylan & Mike I´m just on the way to install some ignition wires to the engine. Pics will follow tonight. Thanks for the welcome!! Cheers, Chris
  15. Thanks Mike, did i had to sign in first? Or is it ok like it did?
  16. Hi Bob, nah, no killer verison... We will see, it´s my first WW1 fighter. The springs looks great to me! I used a guitarre string for them. I don´t have some ideas about the cockpit yet. Will be OoB with some wires and cables only. Hans Klein? Is that the one with the yellow nose and tail? I like that one too and the one from the box art, will decide later. Chris
  17. Hi all, i decided to join the GB here! Got the little kit yesterday and thought i should start it right away for a change. The kit looks very nice and currently i´m working on the engine. The first pics will follow tonight. There are two schemes i like most and i have to decide which one i will do at the end. Stay tuned.... Cheers, Chris
  18. Hi Bob, that looks very nice so far! Did you already decided, which scheme you´ll use at the end? Oh btw, watch your back, i have the same kit on the go right now... Cheers, Chris
  19. Thanks much mates! Hi Mike from NZ, isn´t the world small? Again, if there are any questions about my technicques, feel free to drop me a line. Cheers, Chris
  20. Hi Jen, great Typhoon! I saw this birds in real and it is an incredible aircraft! Well done! Are these intake covers supplyed with the kit? Or is it aftermarket. I´m still searching for some for 32nd scale kits. Cheers, Chris
  21. Hi Ian, what a nice model. I like the weathering and that interesting scheme! Cheers, Chris
  22. Hi Phil, looks great to me! I like the Ghost grey schemes. I want to do a Hornet too one day. Cheers, Chris
  23. Hi all, sorry for the late reply! First thanks much again for all the kind comments! I´m glad you like my models. It´s a bit to much to answer all your questions, so please feel free to send me a PM. That way i´m able to answer them. About the swastika thing, some of you already pointed it out. Yes it´s illegal to publish that sign here in Germany. And as i am a German, it´s better to cover it up, equal where i post pics. I know i have them on the models (where they belong if you build more or less "historical correct") and that´s ok for me. Again, if there are questions about painting or something else, drop me a line. Cheers, Chris
