The Anseriz River Valley - Mini Layout - Hello dear friends, today i started a new project, i leave the first information on this new challenge: the name will be: The Anseriz River Valley, a model railroading mini layout in the scale 1:87 H0, the idea is to recreate the countryside, with the rail line, and a river, and all the details. Hello dear friends, i´m building a locomotive BR02, in the scale H0 1:87, and in this topic, i´m going to describe all the process, of this construction, with photos and little videos. Next is the material that i´m going to use. And this is the painting material, that i´m going to use on the locomotive. Some pictures of the net, just to give a ideia of a model already assembled. Locomotive BR 02 Four-cylinder compound express locomotives represented the state of the art towards the end of the period when individual German states had their own railways. This technically advanced engine would also be used in a new standart express locomotive designed for the then unified German National Railways. It began as the 02 Class; At the same time however it was considered appropriate for the capabilities of a two-cylinder engine to be tested in the new locomotive. This became the two-cylinder 01clas. Both classes of locomotive would then undergo extensive service trials in the same kinds of trains in order to determine which of the designs was generally the most suitable for mass-production. Both the 02 Class and the 01 Class, which was almost identically in external appearence, proved their worth, but the two-cylinder 01 Class that was technically simpler was preferred for mass production. As all the locomotives of the 02 Class were later converted to Class 01 locos, nowadays it is unfortunately no longer possible to admire that technically more complex locomotive in original; As the locomotives of the 02 Class were larger than many previous loco designs, they had to be adapted to take into account the existing facilities in the railway engineering works; Consequently, the locomotives were first of all coupled with the type 2-2t30 short tender. that was the only way the new locomotives could be fitted on the turntables that were then in extensive use but were only 20 m long. Soon after when longer turntables came into use in the engineering works, the short tender could be replaced by the longer type 2-2 t32 tender that would carry larger amounts of coal and water. The 02 Class is unforgettable as the first German standar locomotive to be built. Lenght of loco with tender 2-2t30: 23,050mm Weight of loco empty: 103.9 tonnes Service weight of loco and tender: 189 tonnes Diameter of traction wheel: 2m Top speed: 120 kph Capacity of loco: 2300 psi Year of manufacture: 1925 --------------------------------------- Next the washing process, and the starting of the construction of this kit. Hello to all. Thank´s to the friends, Alfisti, and Periklis, for the time and for the words. The technique that i use for the painting process, is to keep the ink always wet, and to last longer, and not to dry. I use a small tupperware, a piece of vegetal paper, ( the paper used in architecture for drawing house plants ), and a small sponge; first i put in the tupperware distilled water( the liquide you mentioned ), and then the spong to absorbe the distilled water, after i put the vegetal paper on the sponge, and the ink´s, i put them in the vegetal paper, this is a way to keep always the ink in a good condition, when i´m not using the ink´s i put the tupperware in the freezer( refrigerator), to conserve the ink, it´s just an idea, and a economic way. In regarding the part when i´m washing the pieces of the kit, i´m always careful in all the process, i never lost any little piece, but your question, is right, the next time, i´m going to use the plug in the hole, thank´s for the sugestion. Hello again, in the continuation of this construction, i finalized the construction an i applyied the primer, it´s tamiya grey. This is the first video of this construction.. In this part i used for the base of the briks acrylic ink -dark flesh from games workshop, and after i painted randomly the briks with scorched brown, and graveyard earth from games workshop, in the end i give a wash painting with oil ink, ivory black, and vandyke brown, mixed well with turpentine.
