Will be watching with interest as I have always wanted to build a Firefly. I think you need to add elevators to you list of corrections, I believe that as modelled they are the wrong shape.

My entry for this GB is Trumpeter’s 1/700 Liberty Ship, the SS John W. Brown. Launched in 1942, the SS John W. Brown made 13 voyages to the Persian Gulf and the Mediterranean. Was present at Anzio and part of the invasion force of southern France. After the war carried cargoes to help rebuild Europe and returned American troops to the US. After serving as a training ship, the John W.Brown is now a museum ship in Baltimore. More information can be found here. https://www.ssjohnwbrown.org I will be building this OOB as a waterline model using the Great Escape Option, due to having a number of activities planned across the weekend.

@TallBlondJohn Its the model village in Bourton on the Water. It is a model of the actual village and includes a model of the model village.

Not a lot of progress to report, but did manage to snap one of the main undercarriage legs off. Repaired it with a small length of brass tube. Once I had sorted the repair, I masked it and sprayed the red accents.

Andy’s HHQ has a preview. Think I will be looking to put one on pre-order. The bike looks nice as well.

It’s amazing the difference that even a couple of decals make. After a couple of evening mixing modelling time with watching the athletics I am calling this finished. Nice kit, goes together well. Enjoyed the build.

That’s sent me down a rabbit hole on Wikipedia. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tsar_Tank Going to be one big kit with the wheels having a diameter of 25cm. I do like their range of 1/35 armoured cars, this might be a step to far for me.

Thanks. Next time I go to Halfords, I’ll have a look.

Blitzbuild 2022 Part 2 Chat

Can’t commit yet as a chance that work might get in the way, but have chosen a subject. -
A bit more progress. Primed and given a coat of Humbrol 11 from a rattle can.
-
Picked up a rattle can of Humbrol Gloss White at the start of the week. Masked of the nose and leading edges to paint them black. Wasn’t happy with the edge I got on the wings so tidied it up with a thin black decal strip. Posting that photo I noticed I still have a bit of tidying up to do on the anti-glare panel. Also found a suitable pilot in the spares box.

Thanks for the heads up. Also now available to pre-order from Hannants. Looks a beast of a vehicle. -
Given it a coat of grey primer. Find it easier to check for issues with grey. To be followed by white primer and finished of with Humbrol rattle can gloss white Just discovered I am out of gloss white, will probably be a week before I can get to a hobby shop to pick up a new can.

An enjoyable GB. Some great models from a interesting period. My two entries are now in the gallery. Thanks.

Window seals add using a combination of Posca Pen and yellow drip decal.

A little bit of progress to report.
-
Cockpit assembled. Trumpeter provide decals for the panels, decided to paint them. Just cut out the part of the decal for the computer display. As hoped the kit went together well and quickly. A bit of tidying up and it will be ready for paint. Taking inspiration from the interweb photos I have found I will be finishing it with the rear canopy closed, front canopy raised with a single pilot. Just need to find a suitable pilot from the spares box.

Gallery updated. An enjoyable GB. Thanks.

What model has nobody kitted that you REALLY want to see?
Jb65rams replied to Alan P's topic in Aviation Chat
Just been reviewing this thread and noticed I made bobo in my original post by naming a ship! Thinking about it, aircraft wise I would like to see are 1/48 Fairey IIIF 1/48 Blackburn Blackburn 1/48 Avro Bison All with markings for aircraft operated from HMS Furious. -
Made some more progress. Replaced the kit sea with an Eduard Brassin on. added some weight just behind the cockpit, self adhesive wheel weights, will still need some in the nose I think. I range into problems attaching the top half fuselage, really struggled to get a good join around the cockpit. Had to remove the IP fitted to the top half as it seem to be getting hung between the wheel well and control column, but eventually got there.
