I am calling these finished.

More photos in the gallery.
I've enjoyed this build, finished two kits that otherwise would still be loft insulation.
Now need to finish USS Hornet for the Pacific War GB and a Phantom.

My first Mitchell.
B25-B. Revell 1/72

Finally in the home straight. Just some touch ups to do, will post better photos next week.

Just to prove I haven't forgotten this GB.

To add a bit of extra interest, I am planning to leave some of the shutters open on the rear hanger and populate it with some wildcats.
-
Progress to date.

-
A bit more progress. I quite pleased with the way the B-25C came out, my first attempt at airbrushing invasion stripes and a camo scheme.
One slight hiccup when painting, I somehow caught the wingtip with the strap of my paint mask when tidying up sending it into a nose dive. Broke off 2 of the 3 undercarriage legs. I've drilled out and pinned the legs, just hoping they prove strong enough considering the amount of nose weight I had to put in.

I attend the airshow at East Kirkby yesterday. It was enjoyable, relaxed airshow. Thought I would share some photos with you.

Cessna Birddog and the SWIP Duo in a pair of Silence Twisters

The Brietling Wing Walkers and the Boeing Stearman

Just Jane. There is a chance that she might be returned to airworthy status. The museum is in the process of sourcing spares before making a final decision.

Thanks for your kind words.
The spray booth came from Airbrushes.com

I am happy with it, seems to do the job.

Progress has been slow.
The B model is getting there. Painted and decaled. Considering the decals were probably as old as me, they behaved surprisingly well. Going to attempt to make some blurred props next.

The C will be model is next into the paint shop, going to be in RAF markings for 226 squadron.

-
Still the plan. Haven't started yet as work, holidays and a kitchen revamp conspiring to limit modelling time at the moment.
-
Finally overcome my tail sitting problems. Picture below is the weight I ended up having find room for. approx 40grams,

Both Mitchell have now been primed. Good old Halfords Grey Plastic Primer.

-
This is my entry for the group build. This will be a companion piece to a Mitchell I am building for the Bomber groupbuild.

-
No secret really. I am limited by space as I have to pack the work area away to make room for the spray both. So I tend to have 2 or 3 models on the go at any one time, building them all to a point where I can switch to paint mode.
I substantially assemble the main parts of the first model before starting on the second. As for actual building / painting, I only work on single model in a session. I find this reduces the chances of a $%^& up.
Hope this makes sense.
Progress to date.

The second Mitchell is proving to be a stubborn tail sitter, Revell do provide a clear plastic tail prop which I would like to avoid using. Already have a large lump of metal behind the cockpit, Going to try packing lead shot directly behind the engines and some lead foil under the cockpit floor. Just hope the undercarriage will take it.
-
Jamie, re the cockpit colours, I am sure there are people here that know better than me but here goes.
The colours called out in the instructions are I believe are Gunze Sangyo,
Cockpit Tub - H317 Grey FS36231
Seat Sides - H12 Flat Black
Seat - H52 Olive Drab
Harness - H80 Khaki Green.
Hope this helps.

Coming together nicely. About to start on the second one.
-
Progress to date. Finally plucked up courage to take a saw to the wings.

Is the phantom a tail sitter? I forgot to put in any nose weight.
-
Sprue shots as requested. This was the Revell boxing but is identical to the Italeri. Panels lines are raised but not over done. So far it is going together nicely with very little filler required.

-
I'm in. Currently building a B-25 from the Doolittle Raid for the Bomber GB.
As a companion piece I propose to build a 1/700 Tamiiya USS Hornet.

-
I have made a start on one of the Mitchells.

The flash hasn't done the crew many favours, look a bit pale.
This one will be 99% out of the box and displayed wheels up, finished as a B-25B from the Doolittle Raid. Looking to try a propeller effect for the completed model. Plan is to have the main assembly complete before I start the second, otherwise the work bench gets a little crowded.
-
I'm in. Have a old monogram boxing of a F-82G Twin Mustang.
-
I've made a start on the cockpit.

Planning to use the Airwaves wingfold, trying to pluck up courage to take a saw to the wings.
-
My plan is to build these two oldies.

The boxes are different, but the contents and decal options are the same.
One will be built wheels up, one wheels down.
-
My entry is the 1/72 Fujimi F-4K.

Decals will come from the Model Alliance sheet for the Phantom FG.1. Haven't fully decided on which one but leaning towards the "Colonial Navy" version.

Finished. It fought me the end, have already broken a couple of blades off.
I have enjoyed my first group build, actually got something finished.

More photos in the completed builds folder.
