  3. Mainly model aircraft but thought I would try something different. Loose Cannon's HMS Furious as she appeared in 1918.
  4. Finally found some time to crack on with this. Decided I need to redo the wheels, just tried Fairy Power Spray for the first time, fantastic result, a couple of minutes soak and a scrub with a toothbrush and the paint just comes off. (Note to self - don't mix up the toothbrushes).
  5. Both finish. Photos in the gallery. It was an interesting exercise, I think I enjoyed building the OOB version more.
  6. A pair of Novo 1/72 Supermarine Attackers Attacker FB2. WZ302. 718 NAS 1955 Built OOB with Decals from the Model Decal and the spares box. Attacker FB2. WZ294. 1832 NAS, RBVR. 1955 With Airwaves etch and Model Decal decals. Build thread can be found herehttp://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234946536-novo-supermarine-attackers/ Thank You.
  7. The OOB Attacker has been completed, using a mixture of decals from the spares box. Finished as WZ302, 718 NAS, 1955. The second Attacker is also progressing and will be finished as WZ294, 1831 NAS, RNVR, 1955.
  8. Finally found a bit of time to continue decaling
  9. Like the gannet, especially the way the you have the crew looking in different directions, gives it a bit more life. Getting back to the Attackers, tried the kit decals - disaster, just fragment when introduced to water. Will have to use a combination from the spares box and a the modeldecal sheet. Will try to post some photos later today.
  10. I have a number of builds that have stalled, varies from a couple of months to a couple of years gathering dust on the shelf of shame. Includes a 1/48 Stearman, a 1/48 Pitts Special, 1/700 HMS Furious and 120mm Confederate Cavalry Officer. If I can clear a couple of these I will be happy, but first up is Special Hobbys 1/48 Buckeye, started building this for the USN Group Build but just ran out of time. The original build thread can be found here The current position is shown below.
  11. I agree, it has been a very satisfying kit to build, if I am honest I've enjoyed the OOB build more than the one with the etch added. Both have now visited the paint shop.
  12. Hi Mike Just downloaded Stashmate and had a little play, I like it, nice and simple to use. A couple of thoughts - you have a purchase date, I would also find a completed date useful. Also a field to record where the kit is stored would be useful. john
  13. Unable to find a suitable belly tank in the spares box, I robbed one from a Meteor kit and with some scrap plasticard and lots of filler I got something I am happy with.
  14. Paper Shipwright has some free models you can download if you fancy giving it a go. http://www.papershipwright.co.uk/
  15. Just been reviewing the thread and realised that I have posted since October 11th. After failing to complete my entry for the USN GB I have finally found some time at the work bench. Made a start on the second Attacker. Completed the surgery to open up the cockpit / wheel wells. Next up is to search my spares box to find a suitable seat and belly fuel tank.
  16. I enjoyed the first Mustang STGB, so I think it would be rude not to join in again. Have 4 1/48 ICM Mustangs in the stash, should be able to manage one of them.
  17. Dave The 2014 Calendar Jan FW-190-A Feb Mosquito NF.II Mar PBY-5A Catalina Apr B-25H Mitchell May Harrier GR.3 Jun Javelin FAW.9R Jul Lightning F.2A Aug Hurricane Mk.I Sep DH.82 Tiger Moth Oct Boeing 737 Nov Harrier GR.1 Dec Stirling B.II
  18. I would be interested. Have come close to getting the Eduard 1/48 P-40 out of the stash a few times in the past year,
  19. Sorry guys, not going to finish this one. Family commitments and a trip to Wembley this Sunday means I have run out of time at the work bench. I will post photos in the "Ready for Inspection" section when done.
  20. Used a couple of thin coats of Halfords White Plastic Primer, before breaking out the airbrush for the red highlights.
  21. Great photos. I have been a couple of times and always enjoyed. Always seem a relaxed atmosphere. Taken some of my best photos there. The planes seem closer to the crowdline than at other airshows and the fact that most of them are moving a lot slower helps.,
  22. Some nice photos. Quick question, the fourth photo (the odd looking biplane), what it is?
