  1. Can you add me to the list please. Probably go with something from the interwar period, Flycatcher, Fury or Bulldog.
  2. So whats in the box. A nice selection of resin and PE. The spares box will do well out of this. Not a lot of progress to report beyond tiding up the resin bits. Spent a bit of time studying the options and have decided to finish it as a P-40N flown by Lt.Col William N Reed of the 7th Fighter Squadron 3 Fighter Group (1944). Which I believe was part of the Chinese American Composite Wing. Decision purely taken on aesthetics, i think it had the best looking shark mouth design of the options available and a blue and white striped tail to break up the olive drab.
  3. Would a confederate cavalry figure be acceptable? Cavalry were meant to be the eyes of the army. My figure painting skils are not great, not sure how they will cope with a horse, but would be up for the challenge.
  4. I'm in with this. One of the first kits I bought when I got back into modelling about 8 years ago. It's got close to the top of build pile a few times, but finally it's time has come. Eduards 1/48 P-40N A reboxing of the Mauve Kit with added extras. Includes resin details, etch and a display base. In box photos to follow nearer the start of the GB.
  5. The year started well before my mojo deserted me. T-2 Buckeye 1/48 Special Hobby. Initially started as part of the 2013 US Navy Group Build but only finally finished at the start of the year. F-5A 1/48 Tiger Hobbies Space Ship Two & White Knight Two 1/144 Revell AW Seahawk 1/72 Airfix Pitts Special S2A 1/48 Azmodel. OS2U Kingfisher 1/48 Revell Monogram The next three are from group builds. Dennis Fire Engine 1/32 Airfix Union Officer 120mm Verlinden Products F3D Skynight 1/72 Matchbox My mojo deserted me whilst trying to mask and paint the dazzle camouflage on HMS Furious in the WW1 group build. I walked a way for a couple of months. It only returned after a visit to Telford where I picked up SMER Talbot Lago. A quick OOB build followed. Talbot Lago 1/24 SMER
  6. I have been through the stash and found something suitable so I in on this. I will be going with the Academy's 1/32 Nieuport 17. Bought this a while back as a practice piece for 1/32 biplanes before I build my Wingnut Wings kits.
  7. Glad this got the go ahead. I'm in with Whirlykits Short S.B.5. It has a bit of everything, resin, white metal and vac-formed parts.
  8. Can I play. Picked up the Italeri 1/48 Sea Hurricane at Telford.
  9. Been told they are announcing it as part of a lecture. Should be on the stand around 12:30
  10. I found the the Airacuda a challenge that required a lot of filling and sanding, but I think it was worth it. The cockpit also needed a lot of fettling to get it to fit. Also found that the gun turret canopies were a little wider than the nacelle, in hindsight should have shimmed it to improve the fit. The canopies themselves are a little of the thick side. I could find any aftermarket for it, The guns could do with replacing, and a precut mask set would have been nice.
  11. Fairey Flycatcher Supermarine S.6B Walrus If I was allowed a non British one, it would be the Curtis Sparrowhawk doing its trapeze act.
  12. No. The small resin items are not much better. the resin is vary brittle and I have broken a number of the smaller items / gun barrels trying to clean them up. Anyhow I have persevered and got some primer on. Makes a big difference.
  13. When I am not losing small bits of etch to the carpet monster or sticking them to my fingers, made some progress with the super structure.
  14. After a number of false starts, I finally got some time at the bench over the bank holiday. Not a lot to show but a lot of cleaning up of parts. A bit work on the supports for the front deck. Started work on the superstructure. Etch to the rear hanger. The etch is proving very challenging. This is not going to be a quick build.
  15. Not a lot to show yet, as I have been away. From looking at the parts I think there is going to be a lot of filling / sanding involved. Made a start by fixing the undercut deck. Before After Also made a start with the scary etch.
  16. They had two boxes in the Hornby Visitor Centre this morning. Was tempted but settled for the 1/72 version.
  17. Thanks for the link. That is a fantastic model, finished to a standard way beyond my skills. I will study the article in more detail before I start.
  18. I will try not to disappoint. Here is what is in the box. A lot of parts have come of the spruces. The etch which scares me a bit. Paint job could be time consuming.
  19. My entry for this Group Build is Loose Cannon's 1/700 HMS Furious, as she appeared in 1918. Growing up, my had gran had a photo of HMS Furious (mid 30's Configuration) on her sideboard. It turned out that my grandfather served aboard her as a Royal Marine. I have become fascinated with the ship as I did more research, a long varied career for launch the first carrierbourne attack on the Zeppelin base at Tondern to being involved in the attacks on the Tirpitz.
  20. Glad this one got a date. I'm in with the Meteor Prone and one of Martin Bakers Mk7.5s using the unwanted F8 tail from the Prone and a T.7
  21. Union Infantry Officer 120mm Verlinden Productions.
  22. With time expiring, I have finished. Really enjoyed doing a figure, that I went and bought some more. Hopefully my figure painting skills will improve with practice.
  23. Count me in, I have a number of kits in the stash that meet the requirement.
