  1. I don’t clear fax canopies either, but it was the only option. Before I install the canopy, I added the wings. It was a lot more straight forward than I was expecting. Pre drilled some hole for the rigging. No rigging diagram so working off photos and a copy of the accurate miniatures instructions from Scalemates. The top half off the wing will painted separately and installed once I have rigged it.
  2. Not a lot of progress to report. Discover the canopy was damaged and unusable. Managed to find a replacement in a Falcon canopy set which the postie delivered earlier this week.
  3. Been progressing slowly with this one, beginning to take shape and look like a Hornet. Started to install Wolfpack resin flaps and slats. Tail feathers dry fitted. Still some tidying up to do. The folded wings will be added after painting, should just slide in.
  4. PzKpfw II Ausf.F 5. Leichte Division. DAK. 1941 1/76 Revell re boxing.
  5. Curtiss SB2C-1 Helldiver US Navy Squadron VB-4 USS Hornet 1943. A fun enjoyable build.
  6. Recalling complete. Considering they are nearly 40 years old they worked well. Followed by a matt coat and adding the final details, I am calling this finished. (Just in time to watch the Olympic biathlon) A most enjoyable build.
  7. Out of the paint shop. Sea Blue/Intermediate Blue/Insignia White. My first attempt at spraying a camouflage pattern free hand. Happy with the way it came out.
  8. Interesting idea. I have a few in the stash that would qualify so add me to the list please.
  9. Looking good. Did you have any problems with the intakes? I found them a bit of a faff to put them together.
  10. Surgery complete. Spent an hour with the razor saw this morning. Happy with the result. Next up the intakes. These seem a bit of work to get a decent fit.
  11. My entry will be Eduards 1/48 MiG-21MFN representing an aircraft if the Czech Republic in a special scheme marking 45 Years of AFB Caslav. It’s got stripes and a tigers head, what’s not to like. Wont’t be starting for a while as I need to make some progress on my entry in the F-18 STGB.
  12. I will be folding the wings and dropping the flaps/slats using the Wolfpack aftermarket set. Haven’t put a blade to the plastic yet, but have been reading and rereading the instructions and marking up the cut lines (green dots). Just trying to buck up the courage.
  13. Been busy this weekend. Paint on. Then decals and some light weathering. Finally bought together with the base. Calling this finished. Have really enjoyed these smaller armoured models.
  14. Painted the pilots (and the two figures for my Panzer build) The pilots provided are generic and paint to represent my take on USN crew. The matchbox display stand wasn’t in the box so constructed a simple stand using a wooden base and some Albion Alloys tube. Next up will be hours of fun masking the canopy.
  15. Not much process on the tank, but did some work on the diorama base.
  16. Nice progress. I built this earlier, thought it was a cracking little kit.
  17. Not much to learn from me. I am at the same stage as you. Been sidetracked by the Matchbox GB.
  18. Whilst waiting for the paint to dry on my SBC Helldiver, I started looking at this one. The cockpit detail is lacking a bit. I have formulated a plan, I am not going to scratch build, but use the pilots and display the plane wheels up in flight.
  19. Made a start on the Helldiver, starting with the highly detailed cockpit. Broke out the plastic card to add a little detail, all the figment of my imagination. Don’t think you will actually see much through the canopy. A quick blast with a rattle can, hum roll green grass for the interior then the fuselage halves joined.
  20. Didn’t mean to start this but got carried away looking at the sprues. After a couple of hours I had achieved this.
  21. Amazon have just delivered this, the Revell reboxing of Matchbox’s Panzer II. This will be my 4th entry. I built the Tamiya 1/35 version a while back for another group build, looking forward to adding this one to the collection.
  22. @Pappy and @madcat911, thanks for your help. colours sorted and I have reverted to the kit seats. Made a bit of progress on the cockpit.
