Tornado 45+79 "Spirit of Boelcke" in 1/72
hillstar replied to hillstar's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
It just took two years from the point where I started this Aircraft until it was finished... I guess it was on the workbench for about 1 and a half years without being touched, just to collect some dust. :-) Total worktime was maybe four to six weeks -
Hello, this is my last topic for today, the black Tonka from Italy. I used the Revell Kit to creat this nice Aircraft. The decals are from Syhart. It was not the easiest to apply them to the Kit and I am not a 100% happy with the result. Another task was to paint it extremely black, almost like dust on it, but I think it looks good enough. And again here are some pics:

Hello, and for today yes it is me again. This Tonka has been started during the last Tonka Group Build, but because of work and other stuff it stayed on my workbench for quite a while. Like most of my Tonkas it built out of the box with decals from Mark 1 Publication and some others that have been found in my secret box. Hope you like it:

Hello, it is me again and another Tonka that I want to show you. It is built completely out of the Box, painted with Revell Colors and Airbrush. The Decals are perfect and I really like the result. And here are the pics:

Hello Guys, just another Tonka that I want to show you. Lucky me, and finally, I finished this one. Started that Tonka almost two years ago, but stopped working on it somehow. Now, motivated by this forum and the Special Interest group of Tonkas, I finished this one here. It is the good old Revell Kit, with a huge sheet of decals. I thought it will never end to apply them, but it did. Aircraft has been painted with Tamiya Colors and an Airbrush. I like the result, and here are some pictures for you: -
Your Eagle looks great. I like that you have not made a conversion to the new style grey-in-grey jets. I wish I had some skills in re-scribing panel lines.

Looks great! Just bought another one from Revell to build one as yours and another one in winter camo, side by side. Maybe during Swing Wing GB. I am looking forward to Revells new Tiger Tonka! :-)

I am in, of course with a Tonka. Have a couple of those still to build, but don't know which one it will be yet...

Looks good so far. Having the same kit at home, but I guess it will stay unbuild for a while... ;-) I will follow your work here!

Danke sehr And thanks to all the others! -
I really like your Intruder! I know that I have somewhere also an Intruder and seeing yours makes me feel like I should finally build my one. I just need a larger desk to place another "WIP" onto it...

Hello Everyone, I just wanted to present you my newest finished build. It is from the "Icons of Aviation - Tiger Meet Gift Set" from Revell the beautiful Mirage. It was built straigth out of the Box, colours used are Revell Aqua Color. The Decals are included in the Gift Set and had been produced by the frensh company Syhart. They fit almost perfectly to the aircraft. Still it is a bit of a challenge to make those tiger stripes fit to each other. It is currently the fifth Tiger Meet Jet that I was able to finish, but it will not be the last one. And it will not be the last one with special markings. So I hope you like that Jet a bit. Currently on the desk is the Pilot for this beauty, but I received it just Saturday and had no time to finish it.

Hey Guys, like promised here, the next Tigermeet Tonka that I can show you. This is the 1998 Tigermeet Tonka from AG51 in Germany. The Kit is from Revell, also the decals came with the kit. I have used Airbrush and Colors from Vallejo (black and dark green), Revell AquaColor (light green) and LifeColor (yellow) for the painting. Except Radar-Warning-Antenna and the Front-Wheel it has been build completely out of the Box. I did not used the "In-Flight-Refueling"-Equipment, because on pictures I have seen this Aircraft mostly without it. But I have used the Refueling-Pod, for Body-Body. On pictures I have seen that in many cases they were flying without any rockets or other "add-ons", so all weapons or self-defense equipment is missing on my Tonka. I hope you like this Tornado as much as I do. And here are the pictures:

Most of the time I had fun, but not allways. I must say that I have had harder tasks with some other Decals, but still I am very happy that I am done with those decals. Those are LEDs, including the series resistor. So you can connect it directly to a power supply. @all: Thanks for those nice comments!!! And stay tuned, coming up netxt: 45+93, TigerMeet 1998 -
