So good makes me very jealous. (note to self: get an Apache for when next Wessex is finished) The finish looks good. This is so very impressive. I wonder if the people who made the kit you now have no canopy for would help you out (for a small fee) and supply another -
this is wonderful modelling thanks for A: thinking of doing it and B: showing us how you are getting on with it marvellous

I'm glad you saved the Apache, though I am sure you could have made a canopy that would do your work justice, maybe for the "lost one" perhaps It is loking the business in that green and your extra wiring just makes the difference, nice work I am loving this -

Oh what a sod about the canopy but it really isnt the end of the world Can you stick it all together and fill the resulting repaired clear bits with a dollop of milliput? Allow an overlap When cured sand the filler to match the edges and glue the thing on to a stick or bar and smooth out any glue ridges Then it is easy to do what Nobby did with the canopy he made t'other day on his Typhoon I have not used a kit canopy for forty years, by pull moulding a clear one off the kit "thicky" I rarely even use a female mould section as a little practise gives you all the control you will need. And of course this will only be necessary if you cannot get a replacement part Lynx7 magic carbines, you'd almost think they were supposed to fit in there -
I never understood why they did that to her Nice to see how well Jeff''s model follows the original I don't understand why they didn't just paint it the colours of an in-service HAS.3, madness...

Hi Jeff I didn't order a kit what I ordered was Modeldecal MD099 Westland Wessex (guess why?) Micro Kristal Kleer 1/64" yellow parallel stripes (for the rotor stripes) XS019 RAF Rescue Yellow BS256 enamel so it seems you simply have to order "other stuff" from them at the same time I can see why though, simply sending a small tin wouldn't be economically viable, I would only buy off any mail order supplier if it made it worth my while to pay the postage and packing. They make up a box suitable to deal with the size of the stuff you order that can handle posting, the box I had the other day was about 6½" wide 2" deep and 9" long. These sizes fitted the Modeldecals and the other decal sheet and the Xtracolours tin fitted perfectly

Oh blimey That's the Horror Bag! are they still issuing those blimmin' things? I remember them from way back in the seventies when I was an ATC CI Cadets would frequently open them and ditch them under the seats of the RAF Bedford 'bus taking them off on a "visit" when at camp Oddly enough (and I am sure only co-incidentally) the least enjoyed were from a certain RAF Wattisham We went when 111 (One One One Squadron these days I'm told) were still flying Lightnings Oh bugger i'm off on a flight of memory based fantasy now sitthee later -
If we're allowed to have a favourite from your excellent models, mine is the Canadian CF 104 I'm a pedantic old sod and when I say excellent I mean they really do excel. One of my criteria is the way a modeller's canopies "sit" on the airframe. So as I said Excellent! fabulous 'planes...

Thanks for that Jeff As usual Hannants pulled out all the stops and my BSI 381 356 Rescue/Golden Yellow arrived in the post today with a set of decals for when I do my RN version in the future. Now I have to get back in the saddle, mine will be a while yet, interior to complete first. Bill

Do they make frisket film in A4 I wonder? I must Google it...
-
Wonderful aircraft the Nimmy I'm missing them already and haven't seen one for over twenty years in the "tin" This model is brilliant want want want This goes high on my YOUGOTTADOTHIS!!! list and yours is bound to top mine, outstanding! b
-
Jeff given that the basic model has... "issues" your modelling doesn't The finish is exemplary, I am hoping I get my HAR2 somewhere near as good as yours. Did you use Xtracolour or simply use Yellow from a basic manufacturers colour set/ I have just ordered Xtracolour but to be honest "I have ma doots" whether I should have waited... I am glad you carried on with it, every Wessex model made is, another fine helicopter thanks for sharing it with us, I enjoyed the WIP too

There is no finer colour scheme for "Fings Wot Fly" than Raspberry Ripple and the Tonka in Ripple looks just fabulous, well doen

Oi you! nofair I think we need to know (most of us are paying for the beastie after all ) please dear chap, enlighten us imagine the horrors if one were to "google it" The weapons, by the way? Simply sublime. W O W -
I like the lamps Nobby, very nice When I did mine I moulded the lamp covers on the front of the leading edge, just to the outside of the actual lamp so the thickness of the acetate made up for moving it inboard to its position Guess what? Your one looks better, nice one mate I think I am enjoying this one more than the Shagbat, I haven't got round to doing that one yet

Dedication! It does you credit Dave, this looks better and bettererer Those doodahs above the engines, blimmin' intriguing aren't they, I wonder if they are some kind of yaw indicators? Anyway I am enjoying seeing you handle these resin pieces, I havent used any yet and I can see the need for such in my crystal ball... I'm keeping up with this all the way cheers -
I'm sorry that happened, but sadly not surprised Since it buggered up my paint job on the Typhoon I built I have (mentally at least) relegated the stuff to small easily demarcated areas. I used it on the windows of my Wessex because I was scared (yup really) that Tamiya tape would pull them out of the fuselage when removed. I don't think I was wrong there either I had to brush paint the edges between the colours too and think I got away with it But on the brighter side, the undersides picture shows me a well painted model that mirrors the hard skillful work you have done on it I like what you have been achieving here, 558 is going to be a stunning model
-
looks good I hope the maskol lets the paint film separate cleanly when you take it off I hate using it because it usually flakes at the colour edges Tha last time I used it it took ages to sort the edges back to your model Isn't Vulcan just the most marvellous aircraft, I get excited just looking at those mighty delta wings. Your looks great.
