  1. What can I say? The quilting works perfectly for me now, nice one John Looking good to me now.
  2. Seats are great, but I love the wings. Wonderful workings.
  3. Waiting, not pausing respiration... Don't those Wessex bits look good inside there huh, well done you and Hendie.
  4. Not sure Ian, more like " blooming slow fixing previous miscalculated bits" Unhappy with the undercarriages on both A T M But yes getting somewhere soon I'm sure
  5. Hmmph Anyroadup, here we are in seventy two land, which I concur is less friendly than it used to be. I have three Sea King/S61/Commando rotor heads to finish, all needing a decent attack on their droop stops Doh, really? Yup, indeed so what to to do I suppose begin with the basics, a central stem on a cross piece Copiously adorned with ten thou strips to make the outer strut sections No that is nowhere near enough of them, make more Each helicopter needs five of these... And it takes a week not to make enough... Still they do improve the shining hour... OK OK please dont tell Kory but I prefer the dark grey British version. No doubt now, the first Croman machine is awaiting a trip down to the garage
  6. Nice one Robin-42, colour me gutted that they dont have Harbour Air in their back catalogue. Loving the new nose Alan, I suppose I am going to have to try desperately to 'get' Fusion 360 so I can whip up a deep down dirty electro nose for the Beaver one day this summer. Expecting the prop to cause me stress...
  7. Bill its likely that Steve and I and many others of us developed our definition of OOB from you mate OK Steve, consider me transfixed already...
  8. Strange innit? The stuff I oftentimes fear is the very stuff you love to dive headlong into (figuratively, so, I mean obvs)
  9. This is how I will do it for the electric Beaver when I get started When I get a properly working graphics program (next week I hope) I will take the elements I need from the crop above and scale them for 1/72 scale. If there is some edge blurring (I expect there to be some) I'm confident that the small size will mask it on the blue edging to the letters. Happy days.
  10. An accumulation of events taking over I fear Terry
  11. Ah Not LAPD Academy, should I worry? But there is a bike Is it legit to do the bike here? The rest No I am not doing this, just looking...
  12. Remains to be seen, or not, James but I do anticipate playing big soon.
  13. Contacting the company is a good idea, companies with an eye and ear for publicity often lend a hand if something like this is going down. I found that out when I was researching my Croman Sea Kings, the owner of the company went out to the apron to take accurately aligned photos so I would be able to make the decals for models of his fleet. Drawings, proper vector drawings, I had no chance trying to find those for the dainty little Beaver but it seems to me that isn't going to hinder you much. Wessexing bits galore suggest we will still be in for a treat.
  14. I seem to have a rather large problem A couple of years ago Strickers, our own Hamp man came along to the Brum IPMS tables in Telford with a generous donation of helicopter kits that he knew he was not going to be able to take on to give them to me. Amongst them was one of the Sea Kings you see being brutalised here and a few others which are very gratefully received, but there was also a pair of 1/48 scale helos which as you know are way out of my comfort zone leaving me with a delicious quandary. Can I still rotate in fortyeight? I have several builds and plans demanding my attention as you know but the other weekend several of us met up at the Midland Air Museum, Coventry for a very pleasant day amongst aircraft and old friends and in the car park of the museum I was given yet another 48th scale helicopter. Kind heaps pressure on don't you know I have now a Hughes 500 in the guise of an LAPD Highway patrol machine (and motor bike cop), from Strickers and a very lovely looking Westland HMA8 from Airfix Lynx also courtesy of Hamp Man and then to top it all off at Baginton Steve @Fritag handed me the very beautiful Airfix Sea King. What's a boy to do? "CAN WE ROTATE IN 48?" I think we'll find out in a few weeks
  15. Thanks Giorgio, its made me a bit happier with this build
  16. These were printed on clear decal paper and it makes all the difference
  17. You may recall I was having difficulties working out the tail logo decal for the Croman birds what with getting a suitably coloured background for the red lettering using white backing paper to allow for luminance behind the red letters. I admit I struggled along for weeks with that when I was given a blinding insight Yellow is a high luminance source anyway isnt it So I printed a few to play with and began the game Simply red lettering with black shadowing added and all the background piffle removed viola! These will do
  18. A first time for me, old chum. Yes planning is underweigh.
  19. He does own model munching livestock, does that count? A great save there John and it is writ in the great book "Thou shalt drop models and other things copiously, until..." And then you fix 'em better than before.
  20. The window inset is amazing, kinda resets all attempts at modifying model airframes now doesn't it? Hendieing the window openings huh? Nice work on the ribs (rudder stiffening) Alan (Yes you are right I don't know what the berdamnte things are called either ) I'm loving this but boy I wish I hadn't seen that Beaver... (yes drawings have been begun)
