  2. Hello, I am almost ready to paint this particular 1/32 Tiger Moth, and I already been thinking to the decals....I wonder if any manifacturer makes this particular kind of letter/numbers in black.I measured the wing underside and they should have an approx height of 2,5 mm.No info of the fuselage serial's height....Who can help me, please ? Thanks Maurizio http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/mausab28/22155_zpsebc27920.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/mausab28/2714159673_01ac684e16_z_zps4d5f2862.jpg
  3. At last I decided for the most difficult scheme....but what a scheme ! I would like to realize the colorful K2585 tiger moth of the 32 squadron in an attractive chequered scheme. I just wanted to know if the red is the typical DH cherry red or the same red used for the roundels. My other questions is if a vintage picture of this very aircraft is known and where is visible, please. Thanks a lot in advance Maurizio
  4. Hello, I am building an old 1/32 scale Matchbox Tiger Moth, found it easy and fun to build. I would like to represent a camouflaged military example, in dk earth/dk green/trainer yellow scheme with the mid fuselage demarcation scheme and large fuselage roundel. I have read on the instructions that lower wings were camouflaged with the same colours, with a percentage of flat white. I remembered to have noticed the same on a Gladiator scheme... What does it mean ? Why they did so ? They are new colours or..... The second choice was an attractive scheme of an airplane I never heard before. Moths that performed "scarecrow" missions on the british coastline in the early war years. I saw an actual moth with standard scheme (no mid-fuselage demarcation line) and a VX code under the front cockpit. Are there any wartime pics of these a/c ? What was their undersurface colour ? Thanks a lot in advance to you all, regards Maurizio
  5. Hello, as most of you saw in the last week, I realized a resin kit of the famous RAF Spade grip for Hurri/Spit. Several people who asked my kit and I, noticed that a cannon-armed version too was equally required. I don't have this squared gun button, and so I looking for a donor that have this particular and wanted to lend just the time to do a silicon mould. It is a risk-free operation and just two days are needed. Once copied, the part will be shipped back with insurance package together with a RAF Spade grip kit as a gift. TIA ciao Maurizio
  6. Hello, I am building an 1/1 scale Oxygen regulator and after the main work, I found on the net the below picture. I spotted a rectangular plate below it, where a reading is written. I can read "OXYGEN SYSTEM ---------- ALTITUDE LIMIT 10000 FT" What is written AFTER system, please ? Could it be "INOPERATIVE" ? but something more is missing... It seems as fitted to a spitfire due to the typical landing gear light box... I never seen something like this plate before, on a Spit panel. TIA ciao Maurizio
  7. Hello Edgard, thanks a lot for your explanations. You are perfectly right. I made some research this week end just to discover that from Mk II to very early Mk IX, the panel was in "plastic material" with engraved readings filled in white, after production the whole panel was painted flat black. Then they turned to aluminium for early IX onwards, with readings as metal plates screwed onto the panel. I will not do the reddish tone, just satin black. Thanks again Maurizio
  8. Hello Edgar and thanks a lot for your prompt reply. I understand your notes and material probably is the meaning of this unusual colour. The P9372 was a very early mk I so it was produced for sure before 11-11-1940 so why they made the panel in a "plastic" shade ? I've read that all the complex panel study has been done by expert Steven Rickards. And furthermore by 11 nov 1940 all the panels were made in such way ? I mean for Mk Vs, Mk IXs also or they turned once again to aluminum ? Thanks a lot for your help Maurizio
  9. Hello, I am currently realizing my third scratchbuilt 1/1 scale instrument panel, and after the one of Bf 109G-6 and Macchi C.202 fighters, this time the choosen is the Spitfire Mk I/II. After a very long phase of study, regarding instruments, layout and part numbers, I prepared the aluminum panels and all the placing holes. Watching at the pictures of real aircraft, and in particular to P9374's panel and to real wartime-era pics, I noticed that they painted the main panel in a reddish dark-brown tone, with the 6 instruments blind flying panel in black. I just would like to know the meaning of this, if this was real, what kind of colour was that and why the panel was painted in such way, please. Thanks a lot in advance for the help Maurizio PS: below two pics of my completed panels and the P9374's one.
  10. Hello Joachin, if you're interested in one, please contact me offline, it is a very limited rune because I am a modeller and not a vendor
  11. Hello, after several months of work I finally produced a new 1/1 scale item: the RAF Spade grip stick for Spitfire Mk I, II, Va and Hurricane Mk I. Casted in non-toxic resin, it is very easy to be assembled and painted. It comes in a very limited run. Below you'll find some pics of my completed pair, I hope you like them !!
  12. Hello I am looking for some wwII era manual pictures of the MkI spitfire instrument panel, to have an general idea of how many and what were the different part that composed the panel. any help will be appreciated thanks
  13. My Amazon.uk preorder has been delayed to the first days of may !!!! grrrrr....
  14. Hello, I am at the painting stage now and would like to know where I can find a good corsair Mk I camo scheme pattern, please. Tia ciao Maurizio
  15. Hello, I am planning to built a RN Corsair, possibly a Birdcage version, and I am looking for a very interesting example. I would like to reproduce a XDSG/SG/SKY camo scheme a/c, with standard (RAF) roundels. I saw an example with a nose art below the cockpit, but I don't know any other detail, such as serial...or a overall pic. Someone can give me some 2-3 suggestions for "the right one" please ? Thanks a lot in advance
  16. Hello Olivier, thanks a lot for the drawing and for your kindness ! regards Maurizio
  17. Hello Selwyn, you're absolutely right....sorry fir this. It is a Mark I with rounded brass-coloured mgs fire button thx
  18. Hello, I am completing my full scale Spit/Hurri spade grip stick and have some doubts regarding the measurement of the fitting nuts for the stick ,brake lever and other details. I wonder if there is a sort of 3-view stick diagram or a detailed exploded view, please. Thanks a lot in advance all the best Maurizio
  19. Hello, I am now finishing this model and I am starting applying decals. I would like to know if the various stencil reading and placing are the same seen on Mk IXs, or if Mk XIV were different in this too. Thanks Maurizio
  20. Hello John, yes your idea that letters were white, sounds very convincting. although picture is old and faded, they appear as white as the roundel white ring. I also saw some other 443 sqdn a/c in the very late war/beginning 1946 and they seems white too. well, letters painted on the model right now....finger crossed !!!!
  21. Hello, I am finishing this beautiful model, and have some problems with upper wing roundels. Those provided in PAC models Spit Mk IXe are wrong in shape, because they added the outer yellow ring outside of the blue and not inside it. So overall diameter goes to 4,92 cm. I saw from pictures that outer yellow ring was added over blue, so diameter remain unchanged from the correct (1/32) 4.4 cm. What aftermarket or kits have these upper wing roundels in the correct diameter ? In the picture of 21-J, codes are in an extreme light tone. Was they in a fresh Sky...or ? And what was their height, please ? Thanks a lot in advance Maurizio
  22. Hello Edgar and thanks you for you kind responses, yes probably fuel tank hooks were there. regarding the amber bottom light, I have found some pictures taken during 2011 Flying Legends on a real Mk XIVe that is without any bottom light, nor in the normal position, nor aft. The same is watching at Tamiya Mk XVI instruction sheets, where they give the same as Mk IX location for this circular light. I will try to find more pictures, at the moment I already have puttied and sanded the bottom light. Thanks ciao Maurizio
  23. Hello, I am now fitting the gyro gunsight inside my converted IX-to-XIV 1/32 spitfire, but a last detail is still missing. I saw in the beautiful drawings just posted that the mounting bracket seems to be straight and horizontally fitted, while in the pictures it seems to be angled, then straight in the lower part of the gunsight, then angled again. What is correct, please ? Thanks Maurizio
  24. Hello, my model is almost finished and few detail are still unknown to me. I saw some very nice tech drawing on book "Spitfire the canadians" where MkXIVe is represented WITHOUT its belly amber circular light. It is true or is a drawing mistake ? Then, does it have the underbelly drop tank fitting "L" shaped points ? And last, the red/green position light where clear covers with coloured bulbs or red/green coloured covers ? Thanks a lot in advance Maurizio
