  1. HI again. I just scanned in some old print images to my pc and came across pics I took on an old Kodak Instamatic 126 casette film camera, Its of the same T-39 Not a brilliant image but one can just make out the gear door..... I think. anyway here it is: You can just make out the '2' from the serial number on the tail. Also clear is the drooped salt spoken about.
  2. That's marvellous! I couldn't see the colours as it was against the sun. Unprepared with no mobile or camera handy but did get a silhouette pic on wife's mobile. Very many thanks guys. Made my day seeing it and getting your replies. And for that link above. Brilliant!
  3. This one could also drag me out of modelling retirement. \SO I'd like to join in please. I have the Airfix Whirlwind and Freight dog decal I can use .
  4. A good effort on what sounds like a pig of a kit to build. The undercarriage leg covers look as they would scrape along the ground.
  5. ....... flying along South Coast this afternoon around 14 30 pm. Does anyone here know of an airworthy one operating over here???? Couldnt see the colour as I was watching it into sun.😎
  6. The photo clearly shows the slightly bulged engine covers whereas the drawing above and the kit parts the cowls are very flat making it look too skinny. I rectified this on my build. As for the wheels they are large diameter for easy ones and the smaller ones for probably later production Not really a major issue modelling wise.
  7. I recall when I went in 2013, that a lot of Britmodellers had a gathering and photo shoot. Does that still happen?
  8. I've got one still in its poly bag and paper header/instruction sheet. Pale blue plastic and all. Very nice build and thanks for sharing.
  9. My comment was victim to predictive text on my mobile so it is weird. Must remember to not post comments from it again!!
  10. It's almost as if Airfix are going back to the days like the 60s and early 70s when there were releases every month.
  11. That's a blast from the past! I still have one built but on a stand as the undercart is gone. Finished in RNZAF markings from a Almark decal sheet. I'll dig out a photo of it. What amused me was the rather prominent raised lines for the tail unit join at rear fuselage and the ailerons etc. And the earliest edition did not have the rivet detail which appeared later but very finely done.
  12. Beautifully done. I have one in the stash but because I am not making anything any more, it is almost forcing me in to it thanks to your very inspirational model.
  13. Count me in ... I know I have stopped kit bashing but this G could mean a temporary come back for me hopefullly.
  14. Lovely pics blessed with a fine day for the cars and photos. My dad had one of those Ford Pop(SGC 573 in the pics)sit up and beg but with the Anglia badge. He also had an Austin A60 Cambridge ( JMF717B in the pics)preceded by the A55 wiith the farina style body.
  15. Agree with you on the assembly of the kit canopy. I had the same problems with my first one but got lucky with the second. Re the possibility of a vac form one, perhaps one could use the kit assembled one as a pattern to mould your own. I know of no aftermarket version. Unless someone hasa spare from the Aeroclub kit????
  16. Very nice. Was it really finished like that?
  17. Overly model making there. Shame about the roundel proportions .
  18. It will be interesting in seeing how you deal with the wing dihedralproblem with this kit. It is looking good so far though.
  19. Just had another look at the pics. There is no sign of censoring of them. Have they no shame!?
  20. It's every bit as good, if not better seeing the model in the flesh as I did at Modelfest in August on the Poole Vikings table. Excelllent and inspiring build
  21. How about a Vampire next showing the wooden fuselage pod. It would look lovely next to the Mossie. Or maybe another Hurricane but withnthe fabric areas finished in red dope.
