  1. Well - I eventually removed the codes on both sides - scraping them off - gently - and resanded. Tested a small area and it appears that the results are gonna be OK (using much thinned Modelmaster Enamel). Need to do some masking before the final repairs to paint. Fingers crossed. Just gotta sort the replacement decal issue now.

yep - had one for 13 years and still going strong. Good bit of kit - for lazy scrotes like me!
  3. Nope - tried Tamiya tape, normal masking tape, parcel tape - the works. Seems like they are stuck like s**t to a blanket!
  4. Tried that - wouldn't touch it.
  5. Nah - i'll give you a shout - and you can come and do em!
  6. ?????????????? Looking for help in identifying what is suitable and available? Not begging for free decals! More than happy to purchase from any individual or vendor who has what I need!
  7. Looking for decals for 1/48 Spitfire Vb (Clipped Wing) after I have all but destroyed the Tamiya kit decals. Struggling to find suitable replacements for Clipped Wing aircraft. Needs to be standard RAF Ocean Grey/Dark Green scheme. Anyone have any clues to which companys, vendors, printers, specific sheets I should be looking at. Quick look at the Hannants site wasn't too helpful. Open to any options, just needs to be finished by a rapidly approaching date, rather than a particular marking.
  8. I'm sure this has been asked before, but I can't find it! Can anyone offer reliable advice about removing decals, once they have been applied with Microsol/set? Not happy with the final job and need to remove em, without going the Modelstrip route and a respray too!
  9. Check on the Eduard web-site, there is a contact e-mail address on there. I needed a replacement clear sprue and it was sent FOC. Takes some time though. Think it was about 6 weeks.
  10. The one on Exeter Street is railways only (the name eludes me). I do believe he can order stuff that is in the Pocketbond Catalogue but that's about it.
  11. Know the feeling - PITA isn't it. Afraid I don't know of any more either. Thank god for the Internet is all I can say!!!
  12. And what a wonderful smell it was!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. Casting my mind back 30 years - the u/c bay and the gun bays were definitely chromate. As for the airbrakes, the inside of the airbrake was grey as was the recess that the retracted into. The actual bays (forward on either side) were chromate. Invariably both were pretty grubby as the Microturbo was inside the LH airbrake and the refuel connector inside the RH. http://sepecat.info/coppermine/displayimag...um=95&pos=8 gives some fairly good images that should answer all your questions.
