  1. Some resources say that the VK-107 engine was so unreliable that instead of it, the VK-105 was installed. With engines in general, everything is very interesting. I personally watched (and shoot photo) the engine with the Yak-1M, which was found here, on which VK-106 was written! What luck I thought then, because the VK-106 is a very rare series Yak-1! But....the engine plant just made of the remnants of the bodies of the VK-105 engines not launched into the VK-106 series ... leaving behind the stigma of the VK-106. B.w. Jak-9T was unification with Jak-9M, and have modification Jak-9TD with 20-mm gun & more fuel tank inside. About Yak-7/Yak-9 have 43 pages topic on Russian: http://scalemodels.ru/modules/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9320&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 There you can find answers to many questions. History Yakovlev OKB collection??? The collection was formed at the Yakovlev Design Bureau in accordance with the personal order of Yakovlev in Soviet period. After the collapse of the USSR, Yakovlev Design Bureau actually went bankrupt, because ...... we will not talk about politics ...... and there was a threat over the collection to be thrown into a landfill. Something as a result of fraud and dirty deals turned out to be in the West (such as the Yak-3 http://rucompromat.com/articles/vadim_zadorozhnyiy_prikryivaetsya_vitse-premerom_chtobyi_ne vozvraschat_yak-3_feroponta_golovatogo_v_saratov ), but the main part was bought by Zadorozhny for his museum. https://ru.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Музей_техники_Вадима_Задорожного There is no Wikipedia article about Zadorozhny himself, but there is something here: https://automobili.ru/live/persons/culture/a-matter-of-life/ B.R. 2. But maybe it makes sense to add to the list of GB those models FROG of which are not building, but instead of putting the user instead of "- ????", highlighting such a line in red? As examples: F152 (1963) - General Aircraft Hotspur II Glider - Ventora3300, Mr T F153 (1963) - Miles Magister - Heather Kay, Ray S F154 - Sea Fury FB.11 - ????? F155 - D-520 - ????? F156 ( I don't know on memories this index) - ????? F157 (1963) - Morane Saulnier MS 406 - Jean ..... e.t.c Just for best motivation to building... B.R. Serge
  3. Yes, it's glue. Was two type glue such as in your picture, it was the most unreliable because it could arbitrarily open the gulf model inside or dry. Later it began to be packaged in a separate package. Another type of glue was completely hermetically sealed in a polyethylene tube and in order to open it, the pressure was either to pierce it or cut off the tip of the tube. Box was two type, too.You box second type. Image on Your box It has a few blurry and faded colors, the paper color is lighter inside and less dense than the first type boxes. Your box type is more mass. Decal probably not original FROG or NOVO. Maybe it's second cooperative wave. First wave You may see on this my posting: As You see first cooperative decal wave have more accurate colour but not so accurate than in reality. B.R. Serge P.S. I had two Sea Hawk FROG & Airfix...as for my FROG was better Airfix...because Airfix was sold...and manic sawn and cut remains of the FROG are still looking at me and my Sea Hawk from Hobby Boss with a reproach out of the box .....
  4. Looking over their old stocks. Those are the most cooperative decals of the late USSR period. This is not the original FROG. These decals were not appreciated during exchanges due to poor quality and poor color reproduction, so the models were either equipped with original decals FROG ... or were not completed at all. In addition, these decals have a strange tendency to twist. Therefore, it is left at my home. Absolutely useless thing as for me. The number of decals, for understanding only a small part of the volumes that have passed through my hands: 8 x F152 Hotspur 1 x F155 D-520 1 x F176 SB-2 4 x F179 Shark 24 x F190 Blenheim 29 x F194 Spitfire XIV 13 x F199 Vengeance 1 x F229 Beaufort 16 x F241 Maryland 10 x F258 Swordfish 1 x F266 Lightning F.Mk.6 10 x F330 Attackker 4 x F328 Sea Hawk (It is interesting that below you can see the part of the inscription with the number of the Technical Conditions - ТУ-14-2(3?)41-...-...-...-... ) 1 x F338 Marauder 1 x F359 Lancaster 3 x F389 Typhoon 1 x F404 La-7 The next one will probably be a revision of my decals FROG/NOVO or boxes... 5. 😶 About big text quote? It's on Russian as incoherent nonsensical rubbish, too. 🤗😶 Therefore, I need to apologize.😶 But I need to show some kind of justification for my question? O.K. Has anyone read in West source about the Su-9 in Syria 1968? Su-9 v.s. Israel Air Force in Syria 1968? Su-9 over Turkey 1968? Su-9 over Iran 1968? Any comments? About Su-11 nothing. Su-11 have little mass production. About Su-15 nothing detailed. In general, the Swedes were considered as very professional & dangerous fighters with the aggressive style "dogfight". In addition, the characteristics of the Su-15 were lower than Viggen. So was the Su-15 against the F-18 in the Far East. Because Su-15 for intercept, not for dogfight. But when the Russian pilots appeared Su-27 ..... This is what was remembered from the read about "Su-15 over Baltic". I will look for you more detailed information on the Russian Internet and lay out the links here. B.R. Serge
  6. There is also an updated competitor new version of the 9A331M combat vehicle of the short-range anti-aircraft missile system 9K331M Tor-M2, made on the new hull chassis with an 8x8 wheel formula developed by Bryansk Automobile Plant: https://bmpd.livejournal.com/3686239.html But, this more interesting: Prototype heavy combat vehicle T-15 ("Object 149") on the promising universal tracked platform "Armata" performed with equipping new combat remote-controlled module "Dagger" with a 57-mm automatic cannon. https://bmpd.livejournal.com/3684477.html Because, 57-mm automatic cannon, it's perspective future army weapons. B.R. Serge
  7. Hi, All! Reading new opus N.Yakubovich from series "Aviakollektciya" attachment to magazine "Modelist-Konstruktor" 3-2019 "Fighter-interceptor Su-9 & Su-11": read with interest and bewilderment about the overflight Su-9 737 (called "rabie") IAP PVO from USSR over Iran to Syria and comeback over Turkey to USSR in June 1968. Google search show some topic where something similar is described. As examples: https://priozersk.livejournal.com/2203.html "Re: бешеный полк.. teotron 4 мая 2011, 20:02:02 UTC СВЕРНУТЬ: The only air defense regiment that responded to the Powers flights during the exercise: actually flew to the Middle East through Iran and Turkey, right through, in June 1968 ... The Turks fired rocket "Phantoms" but did not have any losses ... I flew to intercept a UFO ... I shot down probes in Tien Shan ... For the first time I used the "pager" (60s) to collect pilots for an alarm within a radius of 50 km ... Passed through ZRV unnoticed ... He constantly fought at night in the clouds, in group battles, in the afterburner ..." or http://teplitz.ru/forum/10-14-1 "The commander opened the package, and a group of 16 Su-9s, with full refueling, flew south-west ... They walked in full radio silence mode, tracking each other along the sights ... Iran was under them ... They didn't manage to get the ceiling right away - it was hot ... They landed in Syria. Worked out the tasks and went to the Union, but through Turkey. Here, the group was attacked by the F-4 of NATO. The pilots watched two start-ups on their own ... However, the Turks missed: Drying went higher ... In the evening of the same day, the group went to the point with links" As for me it all looks like urban legends and delirium of the mad, which is only worth the phrase about the response to the flight of Powers in 1968 ..... Powers was shot down in 1961 and the USSR decided to give an answer in 1968 !!! Seven years have been thinking how to respond to Powers flight, SEVEN YEARS !!! 😲😁 ...UFO intercept....😁😁 I remember the same fantastic stories about the Su-9, Su-11, Su-15 and even the Yak-28P who fought in Vietnam against the Americans, and even shot down someone there. 😁😁😁 In addition, I can’t even imagine the level of a diplomatic scandal if some Su-9 were shot down and fell in Turkey or Iran ... 😲 But maybe I something don't know? 🤗 Of course, a overflight 16 Su-9 through Iran and especially Turkey without coordination with them is a resounding slap in the air defense, so they could have been silent about it. As version... But the appearance of the 16 Su-9 in Syria could not pass unnoticed for Israel, and naturally they wouldn’t be silent about it. Actually a question. Has anyone heard of either the Su-9 in Syria, the overflight of the Su-9 through Iran, Turkey? Any West recourse? B.R. Serge
  8. Do you see it too? I'm not alone?! Now my doctor will stop giving me Prozac ??? 😁😁 Maybe from this day all about FROG - TOP SECRET??? Blame the aliens! Aliens is green...frog is green too! It is logically obvious that FROG is an alien technology for conquering the planet Earth!! 😁😁😁 .....or it's was a DOS attack fan-hackers old Airfix on FROG? After all, they can’t allow more models to be built in FROG GB than in GB old Airfix??? 😁😁 More conspiracy theories? 😁😁 В.R. Serge
  9. Nothing extraordinary in exotic camouflage IL-28 other country. But painting aircraft Soviet Air Force in different colour than silver it's rare. Most this situation it became possible only thanks to the movie. Because of this, we can see black Soviet lL-28 in role "Canberra" & Yak-25RV in role "U-2". MiG-17, IL-38 & Tu-128(no photo, no this movie in internet) with stencil "U.S. Air Force" or Mi-24 with (don't remember) "National Guard" (?). Due to the fact that after the film, many planes were not repainted immediately or were repainted carelessly, there were cases when for some time the planes were exploited in the "cinema camouflage". This led to interesting collisions, like this Be-12 with a swastika: that had previously depicted a German hydroplane in the movie "Torpedonoscy" ("Torpedo bomber's"). B.w. on my option it's best movie about Soviet pilot WW2. Therefore, it is possible that such a "black IL-28" could be used for some time after shooting a film in the USSR Air Force. What is an indirect confirmation: "Immediately for some reason I remembered the story of my friend. He served in military service in 1974, in the air defense forces in the Far East, somewhere near Khabarovsk. And just like that, on one of the teachings, the entire personnel of the unit was urgently ordered to leave the airfield and concentrate in the barracks. At this very moment a black plane landed on the strip. Quickly refueled and took off again. What it was still not clear. I confess, even from the beginning, I took his story for an ordinary army bike. But now I admit that it could be true. Photo did not show him yet." http://scalemodels.ru/modules/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20388&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=340 B.R. Serge
  10. I guess I placed these links in vain. Because it is a very strong demotivator for me. I just personally understand that at this level I cannot make models. B.w. "Album of the main types, diagrams and drawings IL-28" http://scalemodels.ru/news/10095-albom-osnovnykh-vidov-skhem-i-chertezhejj-il-28.html B.R. Serge
  11. Absolutely! Especially when in these reviews the emphasis is on the size of the box in millimeters and the density of the paper box, as in some Modelsvit inbox reviews ! 😁😁😁 But it should be noted that the Modellesvit models were qualitatively and technologically very advanced from the first models to the last models type Mirage III , as examples. Probably Mirage III, on this time have top of quality Modelsvit. Will the level of the X-31 such as the Mirage III will see, but there is always the likelihood that as an experimental aircraft X-31 will be of the same quality as the aircraft VJ-101 or HA-300 e.t.c. But this is a lower level of quality than the Mirage III. Should I make a claim to Modelsvit in this case? I think no! Because, in my opinion, the release of the X-31 with quality like the Mirage III carries more costs and, accordingly, the X-31 will be more risky in terms of the payback period of the X-31 project. B.R. Serge
  12. Also was from "On Target Models" https://www.scalemates.com/kits/on-target-models-2000-rockwell-mbb-x-31--158247 Probably on this models I reading shortly review in Russian magazine "Modelist-Konstruktor". Why "probably"? I remembered review, but I don't remember name manufacturer, because X-31 no fighter, it's experimental aircraft no interesting for my. 🤗 But from the review I remember that this model has not high marks. Modelsvit look good in boxes. When you start to delve into the details, defects begin to arise. And sometimes they are quite ridiculous. As an example, the air brakes of the I-320 have the same relief from the inside. No left & wrigh, so relief one air brakes of the I-320 you need scratchbuilding if you need opened air brakes! In addition, they have on some models a displacement of castings and in round parts, which is quite critical, and requires a strong effort to correct. Of course, this applies only to those models that I started to build & which is in my collection. On the subject of interest to me, I still can not say anything about I-75, MiG-21F-13, VJ-101, HA-300, T-10, Su-17M3, Mirage III E. B.R. Serge
  13. But as far as I heard, he emigrated from Russia to the USA a long time ago. NeOmega? Katran? Complect ZiP? Armory? Pavla? Tempmodels? NordStar? Cold War Studio? e.t.c, e.t.c... B.R. Serge
  14. "The Cambridge Five" translated manual...... in its spare time from espionage! 😁 ( Joke, of course!) Good topic! But some small page in topic! 😉😁😁😁What is 4 pages about IL-28 in 48th scale in comparison with 80 pages http://scalemodels.ru/modules/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20388&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 about IL-28 in 100th scale? 😁😁😁 Finished there: http://scalemodels.ru/modules/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20388&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=1520 Separate photo: http://scalemodels.ru/modules/forum/img_635318_1328259713_IMG_2481.jpg.html http://scalemodels.ru/modules/forum/img_635318_1328259720_IMG_2483.jpg.html http://scalemodels.ru/modules/forum/img_635318_1328259725_IMG_2499.jpg.html http://scalemodels.ru/modules/forum/img_635318_1328259734_IMG_2515.jpg.html To those persistent and courageous people who will be able to simply view all 80 pages 😁😁 of the topic about the building of this IL-28 1/100 scale, inside the topic will open knowledge about all the known literature, manual & some interesting photo (including the completely black IL-28 portraying Canberra in the Soviet spy movie! 😁) on the IL-28 at that time! 😁 Sorry, but I will not indicate on which specific page of the topic these links are located, for the second time I am afraid I will not be able to read this topic!🤗😁 B.R. 15. All who wanted, long time ago done! 😉😁 But over Chernobyl flying: only Tu-16 Tsiklon-N (link on article conversion from Trumpeter 1/72): http://scalemodels.ru/articles/2789-Trumpeter-1-72-tu-16-konversija-ciklon-n---v-nebe-nad-chernobylem.html http://scalemodels.ru/modules/forum/viewtopic_t_22123.html Tu-16 Tsiklon-NM (link on article conversion from Trumpeter 1/72): https://karopka.ru/community/user/10261/?MODEL=177670 over Chernobyl no flying!🤗 Work on 1:144 decal here: http://scalemodels.ru/modules/forum/viewtopic_t_77435.html B.R. 17. Ah...."Back in USSR?" 😁😁 Almost like a queue in the late USSR! Of course, not as much as queue behind vodka during the time of the anti-alcohol campaign of gorbachev, but more than the some queue for the NOVO or VEB Plasticart models! 😁😁 B.R. Serge
  18. Why then do I have associations with the converted old black Russian anecdote: - Dad, hobby-shop have raised the price of models , now you will buy models less!? - No, son, you'll buy toy less! 😁😁 It's modeller version anecdote for modeller's, originally: - Dad, shop have raised the price of vodka, now you will drink less! - No, son, you'll eat less! Of course it's only humor. B.R. Serge
  19. By 13:00 on 1945 April 22 the city was captured after four day city hard fight, from Wikipedia article "Cottbus-Potsdam operation" https://ru.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Котбус-Потсдамская_операция All I found from the photo is a diagram of the operation: and these photos as written maked in Cottbus street : On this photo no strong city damage. Therefore factory maybe no have damage, too. But, on forum Group Soviet Force in Germany: (strange forum with intrusive registration and not very authoritative source about 2WW period) http://gsvgshniki.ru/viewtopic.php?id=546&p=1 It is written that in connection with the approach of the Soviet troops, all equipment from the plant was dismantled in February and exported to the west of Germany. Agree, it is not logical to take out the equipment, but leave the drawings and aerodynamic models or mock-up! Yes, maybe some documentation was dubbed on micro-films hidden by staff, and the originals are destroyed. And probably some from staff with micro-films was in Soviet occupation zone. But Focke-Wulf staff as written here: "TOP SECRET USSR Minister of State Security Comrade Abakumov V.S. November 3, 1946 I bring to your attention that at the beginning of September 1946, the Office of SMERSH in Berlin organized a meeting of the Chief of the OKB-1 Comrade Olekhnovich with Professor Kurt Tank. Kurt Tank said he would like to know if he could get a job at the Experimental Design Bureau. After receiving a positive response, he asked to set up the next meeting in 2-3 days and a small amount of money to attract specialists from his former team. Three days later, the second meeting took place with Kurt Tank, where he stated that by September 20–23 he would form a group of 8–10 specialists and arrive with her in the Soviet zone of occupation. He was issued an amount of 10,000 German marks. But later, in September or October, that is, before the deportation of German specialists from Germany to the Soviet Union, Kurt Tank and his group did not appear. According to our officers, Kurt Tank is in the English sector and is clearly hired. Head of the department "SMERSH" in the mountains. Berlin State Security Colonel Terletsky A.G." did not want to cooperate with the Soviet. And as we know Kurt Tank and his group escape to Argentina...in that on 10,000 German marks received from Soviet as prepaid expense! 😁 Do you think they could really convey something research or drawings to the Soviet? B.w. Alexander Yakovlev who went to Germany before the war and met there personally with Kurt Tank describes him in book "Life target" (Цель жизни) as an rallying anti-communist. B.R. Serge
  20. This good question. And this philosophy questions. Is it necessary to discuss the problem or to be silent about it? I don't know. But category "German jet" or "Luft'46" causes more excitement in mass than for example categories "First -American/Soviet/English/French/Sweden jet" or "American/Soviet/English/French/Sweden projects " Why? Sweden, American or English no was interesting project? No, project was! But for some reason, Airfix does not Miles M.52 ( which could be the first supersonic aircraft in the World !) and Monogram does not Lockheed L.133....why? Probably the question is not only in the design of projects, probably it’s about something else. Of course, You say that there is a demand for project Luft'46, but there is no demand for project English, American, Russian, etc.? But in modern reality, demand does not arise just like that, it is formed. Why do they form the demand for Ta-183, Me.P.1101, Ju.278, Hannebu II e.t.c., but do not form the demand for as examples Miles M.52, SAAB A.36 or Gudkov Gu-VRD e.r.c.....think about it. Do modellers from the Internet have the ability to create demand and influence manufacturers? Of course! Such examples have been and are, although they are not mass. But first need to change your internal attitude, to discuss your own planes more and not Luft'46 planes. Because it turns out that many modellers from England, Russia, Sweden, etc. well versed in projects Luft'46 but completely unaware of the projects of their own aircraft country. B.R. Serge
  21. In vain you hope, because Zvezda has not yet made the FW-190, P-51 and Spitfire at 48nd, without it no self-respecting model company will make any other models! 😁😁😁 Why should the Zvezda be an exception? 😁😁 B.R. Serge
  22. The History moves in a spiral. All these modern flirtations with Nazi ideas will not lead to anything good. In this case, in the topic we can discuss about V-1 (Fi-103) and V-2, because they are moving at the expense of jet power?! 😉😁 B.R. Serge
  23. Ju-287 as and unbuilding HS-132 was captured by Soviet team. ...and Me.328, and DFS.346, and building on Soviet control after war EF-126. But You absolutely correct, it's rocket, not jet. B.R. Serge
  24. ...no MiG-21F-13? Only MiG-21bis & MiG-21UM? B.R. Serge
  25. Other name Ju 248, in reality designer this plane was Lippisch. After the Me-163, something didn’t work out with Messerschmitt and he moved on with his project to Junkers. HUMA Ме-263 was first in mould. It is hard to believe, but probably Special Hobby based on HUMA....because Special Hobby have strange semi erased panel line from the canopy on fuselage. MikroMir have some differences v.s. Special Hobby, as other configuration main wheel bay as for prototype, other configuration cowl wing. But the most significant difference is the position of the wing. It MikroMir wing has moved forward more.Who is right MicroMir or Special Hobby incomprehensible, because the existing photos and drawings of Me-263 do not give an answer to this question. HUMA was more best than PM. About Squadron model I don't know. And again HUMA was more best than Dragon/Revell if we see drawings. But for building from box Dragon/Revell more best than HUMA. In fact first P.1101 was more research aircraft, serial P.1101 was some other. B.R. Serge
