Here is my desk that l build last winter. l needed a better workspace so l got the material and made it myself. l have my main work desk in front of me then my work bench to the right and a book shelf and a place for my scanner and printer. l know its looks neat here as l had just finish it when l took the picture but trust me its as mess as the rest of yours benches though l do from time to time clean it up as l cant find anything

  2. The revell model will be better and cheaper but it will not have probably have the detail parts as the Trumpeter kit Which for some is ok as alot of modelers are not into that much detail. Though Revell could fool us and do give us a nicely detailed kit at a good price. We will have to wait and see

My vote is for the Revell kit as its more affordable then the trumpeter kit

  3. As a 1/32 scale modeller I'm very disappointed to see yet another German subject (and another 109, yawn) but it will sell by the bucket load, unfortunately not for me I'll save my cash for a modern Hurricane kit, now the Azur Bloch 152 did make me part with some readies.

    Cheers

    Den

Though l may agree with you as sometime German subjects get over done but this particular aircraft needed an modern mold. The Hasagawa one is ok but its a bit dated and the matchbox one well we all know the trenches in that one. So hats off to Eduard for atleast taking an already molded subject and giving it a modern update

l also agree we need a new mold Hurricane in 1/32

  4. Excellent video. Was the DR.I really that manueverable?
The only criticism I would make of the video is that some of the aircraft speeds look unfeasibly high.

    peebeep

This is why in the hands of pilots like Voss or Von Richthofen the plane was very deadly. It could perform very amazing and quick maneuvers and it was of sturdy design

as for the speed on the video l think its about right as they try to duplicate every aspect of the scene as possible which includes pilots prospective and how it would look if you were looking down on the scene as it unfolds. They strive for realism and l think they do very well. Some of the WW2 and jet combat scenes are outstanding

  5. If you are going to build it out of the box its ok but if you wish to detail it l would suggest to do your research as the kit has issues

This is my kit build as the vessel my father served on during the war for the RCN. l had to do alot of throwing away of kit parts and replacing them with scratchbuild items. On top of that what the version is was not the same as the Fredriction as it was build afterwards and incoperated alot of the improvement done to previous ships.

  6. How long is Superglue supposed to last once opened?

A couple of bottles that I had barely used had gone rock solid despite being tightly sealed. Should I try storing the opened bottles in the fridge if I'm not going to be using it for a while?

    Andy

yes that is the best thing to do. l keep my in the frig and it kepts alot longer. l also keep a spare uncut lid that will help keep it fresh. But as time does go on it will eventually go useless

  7. Last year there was a gentleman from the Shoreham Aircraft Museum speaking here in Canada and l had to opportunity to hear him. According to what he said there is another intact BoB 109E buried in a 60 feet of bog not far from the museum. They know what aircraft it is and who the pilot was. They were at the time of his visit trying to raise funds to excavate the wreak from the bog. Does anyone know the progress on this is and does anyone know what 109E its and who the pilot was. l been trying to find out and have sent several emails to Shoreham with no reply.

  8. At one time Airfix did produce a B.2 l know l had three until l lost them to an accident. l want to get atleast two more some where so l can build them like l planned. l also think that they cut up the mold to produce the B-57 version of the Canberra .

  9. depends on what squadron and what time period you wish to build. The Tempest tail planes were either added during manufacturing of later production models or they were retrofitted in the field during maintenance. This included the changing from a 3 prop to a 4 prop propeller and the bubble canopy. So you will have to check if its a retro fit what time period you wish to do and whether its a new aircraft. The 1/32 Typhoon l did was in a time period of Jan 45 which by that time had all the mods added.

  10. That's quite a cool way of displaying the model, it certainly gives you an idea as to how the aeroplane was built. Must have taken a while to do that wing, no?

    Mike

about 2 weeks of careful work and building

    Now that is cool! B)

Did you build the exposed wing yourself?

yes using drawing l have of the wing structure

  11. l dont know about where you guys live but here in Canada we get coffee cans and small tins of tetley green tea with peel off seals when new. These are aluinium and this is what l use. As for lead foil try a model train shop as they carry stuff like that. But its getting to the point lead is pretty much not used much anymore on wine bottles at least here.
