Wonder if that Paragon conversion will fit the new airfix kit rather than the antidiluvian offering from Hasegawa?
l was wondering the same thing. l had in mind to purchase two of the new Airfix offerings to start a spitfire collection and was going to use the Paragon set on the one.

so what is the difference between a Fairy Seafox done by Matchbox and the Fairy Fox done by Pegasus ?
-
when is it suppose to be due out??
-
very nice indeed. l like how you used foil on the tops of the ejection seats for the phantom. Have to remember that tip for the future thanks
-
l see hannants listing some of this stuff and l was quite surprised at the Romulan ship being released. Its has been years since anyone seen one not even at swap meets. l am seriously want one but as always the timing sucks for money
-
l like this kit full of possibilities for conversion too. One question what is the interior side walls like. l have yet to see a shot of those
thanks

a couple of years ago l manage to latch on to a 1/32 vac of this plane and been holding on to it until l got enough infomation to build it poper. it very nice but of course lacks in some areas but it is workable
-
good cause at the moment l use either testors or floquil primer ( the latter has a very harsh smell but it does stick ever well to everything) and wish a less smelling primer
-
Now is this acrylic only primer or is some of the new stuff that can take both acrylic and enamel based paints?

F/A 18 E/F (uk) sea hornet
l can see that being the official designation

Here is my take on this. Stealth technology is a proven system that is great for when you need to sneak in and take out say radar sites so your other conventional fighters can flood in and do the real damage. In the superiority fighter role it does give the fighter pilot the edge in surviving an air battle.
but once the war door is open they know you are coming period. Fighter bombers like the F/A 18 in all its variants are the grunts of the air to ground role the same as the A-10 and the Harrier who are the grunts of the close air support roles.
Stealth had in my opinion gone from a useful technology to an expensive fad that they are trying to sell as a expensive do all system
in other words they are trying to sell you an outhouse and telling you its the tashmahal!!
The F-22 is a good stealth superiority fighter which is needed the F-35 l think will turn out to be an expensive white elephant that will fall very short of all its promised
IF it is so good why do the USMC does not want it?? Right or wrong the USMC of all the American services in my opinion that use jets is the most practical operators hence why they went for the Harrier for a close air support aircraft. they know F-35 will not work period
-
was it not the time period when the british fighter camo schemes when from green/earth/ sky to the green/ocean gray/underside grey?
The colour of the spinner is correct as it was still sky so my assumtion is the different colour panel could have been a replacement in the old colour and was never repainted

Actually the japanese did recieve one 190 for evalution and was seriously thinking of manufacturing but only as a land base fighter

check it out here plus there is a photo of a Ju 87 in Japanese markings on there too l did not know about

unfortunately it is all politics and they are dancing the new fad tune when it comes to the F-35. Even my own Canadian government is dancing the tune for a plane that for me has yet been proven to do the job in VSTOL version
As with the TSR our own indigenous plane was canceled cause it cost too much and we ended up dancing the missile fad tune that was playing back then. Remember Dog fighting was the thing of the past and everything will be done by missile interception via ground or air. OOPs here come Vietnam and hey what do you know dog fighting is alive and well.
If l was in charge the first thing l would say is what Dr Phil would say
"Don't sell me an outhouse and tell me it is the Tashmahal"
Personally l dont think it will live up to its hype and we may end up leaving our perspective countries in a bad situation
You know like the F-15E the Typhoon could be turned into a two seat strike version as well as the beloved Tornado is getting rather long in the tooth
as for the Canada l think we should not buy this plane until we see how it performs in actual service
personally l would buy either the F-18E to replace our aging A versions
or go for your typhoon
my two cents rant

Thanks edgar got the email. Now l am pretty sure the basic firewall struck was the same from the Mk I to IX just the pluming and do da s were different as the different variants of the Merlin came available.
So seeing that the new tamyia kit is suppose to be the most accurate kit on the market a shot of it would be good too

I can do a pair of photos of AR213, with cowling panels off, and a drawing of frame 5 (no fittings on it, though,) if that'll help. Same "researchdesk" and yahoo address?
Edgar
yup

Title says it all l am contemplating my next build and it will be a 1/32 spitfire MkI but l am not sure yet if l am going to just build it or expose the engine. Even if l don't l still will need it for the 1/24 scale MkV l want to build sometime down the road as l believe both would be the same
-
so whats happening on this project?
-
revell did do a D version many moons ago and l build it that long ago too and if memory servers me correct it was a dog. Now the other possibility is that it is the old matchbox kit or they are re boxing of either Italeri or Hasegawa kits as they have done that in the past too
-
What I can't understand is why a kit designed and engineered some 40 years ago is still able to stand itself against a much modern, "state of the art" one.......
Cheers..
There maybe state of the art equipment but do they know how to use it? and /or was it a matter of time and money on it?
l remember a friend who once said about university and college degrees "They may have a degree but do they have the brains to back it up?" It may apply in some case to the state of the art anything
-
Question is and it might be too late for this but could you not kit bash the two together to make one decent model? Most obvious is the wings. Is it possible to use the roden wings on the impact kit? Another question is would the interior and engine parts from the roden fit the impact kit?

I know what I'm going to ask Santa for this year.

Not much cut away drawings of this beast in fact very little interior info as well.l know a couple of Air International articles were done and one Scale Model airplane article neither l have or can get now. l have always liked the long span wings on this single engine plane. Maybe some day with enough info l maybe able to scratch build a much large model to do it justice.

In 1/72 scale when looking at a biplane at a the same distance rigging is hardly visible so what l did was l went out and got a spool of invisible thread

Here is my DH 4 in US markings. it was all done with invisible thread. A spool will last you quite a while. As mentioned about above you can cut it slightly bigger then needed and shrink it with a hot nail or something of that sort. You will need a #80 drill bit for the holes ( get a good supply as they break rather easy no matter how careful you are)
As for anything larger like say 1/32 or 1/24 l start using fishing line (the lightest poundage and most appropriate size possible) as it is really the same stuff and you can use it pretty much the same way as above.
Hope this helps
