Hello, I will give my build of a model of the "Hikawa Maru" another change, but I have a question. Does anybody know of the existence of a frame plan for "Hikawa Maru", would appreciate every response about this topic !! Greetings John.

Thanks Ian, but it is not necessary anymore, my Hikawa Maru model landed in the trash bin. The Canon model that I used as a template, was one big mistake, all measurement on this model were wrong, so I trashed it. I did not research the model enough, my fault !!

Stewart, I do not use Photo hosting websites, because I did a while ago and overnight I lost all the stuff on such a hosting website, so I only use my own computer and external drives to safe my photos, and of course iCloud from Apple.

Hi Stewart, again, thanks for the model pictures you sent me. I am having difficulties with the stern part of Hikawa Maru, started already three anew with the stern, today I start for the fourth time, after changing a lot on the frames of the stern part. Pity I cannot place pictures here easy.

I just read how to upload pictures, well, I am not using Photo host websites and I am not planning to, so webmaster you can remove my "Hikawa Maru" Thread !!

Hello, Today I start my thread here about my scale 1:200 model of the "Hikawa Maru", inspired by Stewart's SS "Fushimi Maru" !! I will try to keep you informed regularly !! There is one problem though, I do no see how to insert an image, only the possibility to insert a URL !!!!! ??????

Hello Stuart, I am following your thread about the SS Fushimi Maru with great interest. I started a few weeks back a scale 1:200 model of MS HIKAWA MARU. I found great photographs of the builders model of Hikawa Maru online and in the Wisconsin Maritime Museum, USA. I have a question, in your thread you show some pictures of the builders model of Fushimi Maru, my question is, are there more pictures of this builders model available, or do you have more of this model. By the way your model so far looks very clean build, awesome !! Greetings

This is a very interesting model, just discovered it while looking for something else. I just noticed that some photographs of your model are not available online, gives an error 503, can there something be done on this error, so that the pictures show again !

I tried to find an e-mail address of the Royal Navy Museum, but the link on their site is not working for me ! I saw on the internet that this museum has a model of HMS Dreadnought. A few days ago I also sent an e-mail to the Science Museum, awaiting an answer !

Well Dave, Just this Summer I photographed a lot of models in the Dutch Navy Museum at Den Helder with flashlight, and they were all in vitrines. I photographed them under an angle of about 45 degrees, without having any reflections, or visibility of the flash. Also the use of a circular polarisation filter can be very helpful. I have some experience in photographing, but anybody can do it, without doubt !! Hope you will give it a try !!

This is what someone wrote to me: Dear Jan, Unfortunately we do not have a high res photo of the Yashima here. However the Yashima now resides in the undercroft underneath the Painted Hall at Greenwich. If you enter the hall and take the steps down to your right, the Yashima is in all its splendour there. Hello, Surfing the internet, I found some nice photographs of the builders model of the Japanese Battleship YASHIMA. There is one minus point, it were only a few photographs, would like to have more of this beautiful model which was made probably at scale 1:48. My question is, is one of you guys (or girls) living in the neighbourhood of Greenwich ?? and would be willing to make an extensive photographic report of this model with a lot of detail pictures ! The address of the model is: The Royal Hospital School, Holbrook, Ipswich, Suffolk, IP9 2RX. The description the people from the Hospital school sent me to find the model is as follows: "However the Yashima now resides in the undercroft underneath the Painted Hall at Greenwich. Hi Guys (and girls); I have a very bold question ! In this thread there are some beautiful pictures of models from the Dock Museum in Barrow-in-Furness. Oscarsmate already sent me some beautiful pictures of HMS Erin and others that he took when he visited the museum. Also David Ross made some extraordinary galleries of several ships in the museum, which I like very much. My question is though, I am extremely interested in the Builders model of the Japanese battleship KONGO, and would like to have some Hi-Res pictures of the model. I am planning to build a scale 1:200 model of KONGO in this configuration. Taking pictures would be difficult because of the glass case around the ship, but there are ways to get around this, for instance taking pictures with the help of a circular polarisation filter or if not using a filter taking pictures at a angle to the glass, so that you have as less as reflection as possible, in this way using a flash is also possible. I would like to take the pictures myself, but for some reason it is impossible for me to do !! Hope some of you are able to go to the museum and take some pictures for me ! Regards John Dohmen.
